FULL APPEARANCE: G'las is lithe and slender and typically wears long flowing clothes and plenty of jewelry. He paints his face, and keeps her stubble tidily short but visible. He prefers to wear green, ideally with spots to match her dragon's pelt. She's always looks extremely put together, and would rather be appallingly late than endure looking anything less than spectacular. G'las has a natural grace and in another life could've been a dancer.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: G'las is an extraordinarily dramatic person. She lives for it. He always wants to be the center of attention, and if she has to spread gossip to do it, then so be it. This is a large part of the reason he always puts so much effort into the appearance of herself and his dragon, because it's very difficult to ignore someone that immaculate.
G'las can be extremely mercurial, especially in matters of the heart, and often seems to give her partners conflicting information about what he wants from them. It's not that she's lying, it's just that what he wants and needs isn't a fixed thing. No one should ever trust G'las if she says he 'never' or 'always' likes a certain thing. Because of her ever-shifting needs, he's had many lovers over the turns, and every one that's ended ended dramatically. She would also rather tell an interesting sounding lie than a boring sounding truth, and it's gotten him into trouble with multiple people over the turns.
Despite it all, though, G'las is fiercely loyal once she's decided to adopt someone into his family. She will not hear a bad word against them, although he will definitely list out every one of their flaws to their face if she thinks they need a reality check. His bluntness can sometimes make her difficult to handle. He is a good source for gossip and make-up or fashion tips, and despite her otherwise general abrasive behavior, he will always make herself available if someone is having a hard time and needs a shoulder to cry on.
One might expect someone with such a chaotic personal life to be equally messy in his professional life, but she actually takes his role as a rider and protector of Pern extremely seriously. Thread and the injuries it can cause are life-and-death, and she will always take life-and-death very seriously.
G'las is a creature of contradictions, and he will apologize for it to no one.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
Parents - unknown riders
Siblings - probably?
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: Depends on the day
BIRTHPLACE: Telgar Weyr
HISTORY: G'las was a Weyrbrat in Telgar. He never knew who her parents were, but he assumed at least one of them was a rider. Part of why she goes out of his way to be so flamboyant stems to this early sense of abandonment, though she as well cared for as the rest of the Weyrbrats.
He had a fairly typical upbringing, briefly considering joining a Harper hall if she didn't bond to a dragon, but he did fairly shortly after her fifteenth birthday. Not only did he Impress her very first time standing on the sands, his was the first dragon to hatch. It was a point of pride for her, proof that he was born to be a rider and that she was destined for great things.
Despite how tumultuous his personal realtionships could be, she took his job seriously when it came to practicing wing formations and fighting thread, expecting nothing less than perfection from herself and his dragon. When G'las was in her mid-twenties, his favorite mentor transfered to Fort over some falling out. She stayed in contact with the Greenrider, who'd taken him under his wing and given G'las all (most) of his best make-up tricks. The Greenrider had been getting older when he'd gone to Fort, and when G'las got a letter from him telling G'las that his mind was starting to deteriorate and he likely wouldn't be able to write G'las for much longer? Well there was simply nothing else for it but to uproot her entire life and relocate to Fort so he could be with her beloved mentor even after the old man had forgotten G'las's name. Though, if anyone asks, he will of course tell a much more interesting story than that. Like how there's a very tempting open position for Wingsecond in one of the wings...
