PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Trein, on the surface, appears to be a very strict and distant man. He expects the best from those around him and he isn't above lecturing or arguing with someone who he feels isn't taking things seriously. After all, Thread can kill and he doesn't want anyone he knows to die from it. If someone does something EXCEPTIONALLY idiotic, he will often make comments on them being an idiot and will point out what could have happened to them in a worse case scenario due to him being a very critical person when it comes to this stuff. He does not wish to be in a position of authority, though. To him, it would almost be too much of a headache for him. Though, this isn't to say that Trein doesn't care about others. He just shows how he cares a bit differently.
He is a very family orientated individual, though. He loves his wife dearly and is proud of his children for graduating and becoming dragonriders. He enjoys spending time around his family and they're often the only ones who can get him to show a softer side. He tends to be a very responsible dragonrider, going slower than some while fighting thread. He does not want to risk the life of Ideth or himself during thread.
After all, he has a family to return to.

BIRTHPLACE: Fort Weyr
HISTORY:
Trein had lived his entire life in Fort Weyr and had no desire to become a dragonrider. As such, he tended not to care about the politics of the weyr- as long as the current leader was good, that's all that mattered. He tended to be a lot more progressive compared to his peers.
He had lived a normal childhood and would marry his childhood sweetheart. The two would have two daughters together before fate tore them apart. She had gotten very sick and ended up passing away in her sleep one night, much to his sorrow. It would take about five turns before he was able to move on, eventually marrying another weyrfolk who had a son of unknown parentage. He loved the son as if he was his own. As all three children grew up, he was proud of them for becoming candidates.
Though he had never wanted to be one, he was happy that all three of his children were willing to follow their dreams. He may have been a strict father, but he was proud of them for growing up into fine members of the weyr. He did have some concerns, though. He had grown up during part of the Interval War and, along with this, people began to flee from High Reaches to different weyrs, Fort being one of them. He couldn't deny he was admittedly worried for another war. These worries were only confirmed when High Reaches had led two attacks on Fort. His daughters were now dragonriders and were ready to defend the weyr. Along with this, his stepson was approaching the age of becoming a candidate.
However, Trein had never once expected he would join his children in the skies, though. It was at his stepson's first hatching and he was watching with hopeful eyes that he would impress. However, something seemed off. A green hatchling slowly turned her head towards him and he was alarmed to see the rainbow swirl in her eyes. The family did have another dragonrider in the family- except it was Trein himself.
Ideth almost felt like another child for the fifty turns year old man, laughing a bit as she would take jokes seriously. She was also a very intelligent dragon and Trein found himself getting caught up in conversations with her at night. By the time they graduated, they were almost glued to the hip.
As the years grew on, he worked hard for the weyr. Now, all of his children were dragonriders, as well as himself. However, he also found himself growing increasingly annoyed with some of the more traditionally minded members of the weyr, especially after their imprisonment of the current gold and her rider. Though he believed people had a right to their own opinions, what Z'osh had done was something he deemed as unreasonable.
For now, though, he just hopes he is a good example for the current and any future weyrlings.
