- Salle is a leggy blue-eyed woman with light brown hair standing an even six feet tall. A willowy beauty with hair that falls to mid-back, full lips, and bedroom eyes, she has a very traditional attractiveness to her. She has a small beauty mark on her upper lipline on the left side. When it comes to clothing, she mostly sticks to neutral colors that are natural to the fabrics they're made of. Some dye isn't amiss, but not much. She wears mostly looser, freer clothes - peasant tops and skirts aren't uncommon, with tightly laced boots. She lets her hair hang free and moves gracefully.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
- A whimsical young lady, Salle doesn't let anything get in her way or slow her down in what she wants from her life. She's not exactly stubborn, just ... implacable. She does what she wants to do, and writes her own path.
Issalle is always willing to help out. She likes being someone who can be depended on, but is a little bit flighty all the same; she can be forgetful, although she tends not to be about things that are really important.
With no desire for rank, Issalle is content as a wingrider and doesn't envy those with more rank and responsibility. In fact, she doesn't think she'd be happy in the higher ranks of politics. She'd rather be training to fight Thread and fighting Thread.
Outside of her duties as a dragonrider, Issalle is hedonistic. She wants the ultimate in pleasure from life. She takes great pleasure in dancing, as well as food and drink and other activities. She doesn't like being tied down except by Geth, and she is flippant and light when it comes to her interpersonal relationships.
Somewhat hubristic as well, Salle is very self-confident. She's not only confident in herself, she's confident in Geth and sure that they won't ever let her down. She's bound to eventually fail or to have Geth come up short, but can't fathom this as a possibility despite the fact that fallibility is certain.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
- Father, Is'sak of Brown Kiyrulth, 56 [+25]
Mother, Melisalle of Green Nidalth, 54 [+23]
BIRTHPLACE: Fort Weyr
HISTORY:
- TW: PLAGUE, DEATH
Born in Fort Weyr to a weyrmated brownrider and greenrider, Isalle grew up in the creche an only child and only rarely saw her parents. She grew up with the notion that she would be a dragonrider, but also had a love of - and great skill for - dance. She spent a great deal among Harpers of the musical persuasion, perfecting her art as they practiced their craft, but knew that no true craft would come of her dancing.
At the age of fifteen, she began Standing to Impress, and waiting to do so didn't bother her. She continued to dance, do her chores, and generally fit into Weyr life except for her excentricity as a talented dancer.
It was a little surprising how quickly time passed and she was only seventeen when she Impressed a little white named Geth from Gold Keahith's maiden clutch. The little dragon proved heartier than they looked and survived quite well with the same treatment as the other dragons.
Issalle and Geth spent the next turn getting to know each other and growing ever closer. It was a time of change for the Weyrs, with many mutations and chimeras hatching and garnets clutching.
Soon after they finished their weyrling period and joined the high-flying Daylight Wing, plague hit Pern. Lain of Gold Otohith was among the fallen, but thankfully there is another Queen in the wings to rise and take over as Senior, although violence ensues in the Flight. Issalle’s desire never to rise politically is reaffirmed, as is her satisfaction in the fact that Geth neither rises nor chases. The drama caused by Brown Vaugnairth’s violence is just unnecessary in her opinion.
The weather makes Threadfall particularly severe that winter and there are many lost, including the Senior Weyrleader’s dragon. It’s a hard loss for the Weyr, and Issalle does not escape unscathed as she and Geth are injured in the harsh Threadfall; however, both of them make complete recoveries thankfully.
In 2771 Weyrleader Z'osh goes a little mad and places Weyrwoman Tuckal and all that did not fit his worldview under house arrest. It is an uncertain time for Issalle and Geth, who discuss leaving the Weyr for one less ... hostile ... toward those who don’t exactly fit in, but the situation is quickly resolved in a clash of traditional and progressive riders that leads to the progressives winning and Z’osh being exiled to Semaca … not that Issalle thinks he’ll fit in particularly well there.
Things quiet down from there, thankfully. Issalle and Geth are able to concentrate on what’s important: protecting Pern from Threadfall. They are perfectly content as ‘mere’ members of their Wing and dedicated to their mutual duty. And, of course, Issalle continues to dance.
