FULL APPEARANCE:
Qrow is casual to a fault. He quickly styles most of his hair back in the morning, and he keeps his stubble from growing too long, but that's about the only personal care he seems to take. He's lanky, but in the fit sort of way, and he only got that way because of work. His body moves in a gangly sort of way when he's tired, almost flailing around like a wacky inflatable arm flailing tube man. When he's awake and alert, there is a distinct difference to the way he moves, seeming more like an attack dog than anything else.
Qrow dresses as casual as he can while still being good for work. AKA: he just wears shirts and pants, sometimes a vest and a jacket if the occaision calls for something super super fancy or it gets cold out.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:[tw alcoholism]
Qrow has serious vodka uncle vibes, except... minus the vodka. He's a recovering alcoholic, and he's proud of his recovery. Regardless, he's still the most fun at a party. He's cocky and loud, cool headed and nonchalant, and is not afraid to say what he wants to say regardless of what other people think. Sure, he can be rude, and crass, and cynical, and blunt, sneaky, maybe a little (VERY) self-loathing, and doesn't take compliments well, but he's still fun! He's still got it, he swears! He also swears that he has the worst luck on Pern because he always finds himself in bad situations, but that's another story.
He's got a heart of gold, and is great with kids. He gives nicknames to everyone (like Brachyth, she's a total Ice Queen) and will joke around with you if you give him the chance. He doesn't like to open up to people, but if you really try, you'll find that he's just a sweet guy covering up turns of pain with a sprinkling of jerkiness. Qrow would always rather do the right thing instead of what he was told to do, if what he was told to do was the wrong thing (according to his morals).
He shouldn't really lead anything, sure he's a hard worker, but he doesn't trust himself with power. Qrow's not too fond of High Reaches just on principal, and has always been that way. Thinks that it's way too... icky. He's also deathly scared of being holdless again, and hated what he did while holdless.

BIRTHPLACE: A makeshift bandit campground far outside of Telgar
HISTORY: [tw death, alcoholism]
A set of twins were born in a bandit campground far, far outside of Telgar. Qrow and Raven were their names, and as far as holdless bandits went, they were the typical amount of devious. Their parents, prolific bandits within the gang, died very early on in their lives. Then, instead of feeling like they had to impress their parents, they felt like they owed it to the rest of their bandit group to do what their parents did, help provide.. once they were at an age where they were more of an asset rather than a liability. Once in their teens, they stole and robbed holders blind, pillaged and the like.
They got seperated from their group. Stuck in a minor hold in a botched heist near Telgar while the rest of the group ran free. Of course, the two teens lied and pouted, and weeped their way out of any real sort of punishment. Searchdragons came by, and to the surprise of both of them, they were searched. Brought to Telgar. Became candidates. While Qrow fell into the routine of candidacy, Raven never seemed to. Qrow realized that he didn't want to go back to being holdless, liked having a fully belly every night, liked that he didn't have to fear for his life every second of every day.
They made a new life, to the excitement of Qrow and the regret of Raven. They made friends with two other candidates, Taiyang and Summer, and spent most of their hours outside of class hanging out together. Time passed, and the next thing they knew, they were Impressing to dragons. Raven found herself with a brown, Summer with a green, Taiyang with a bronze and Qrow? Qrow impressed to the coldest white he'd ever met. Started calling her Ice Queen to get her riled up. It brought back a sense of home, arguing with Brachyth all the time.
Raven and Tai ended up having a fling, and then ended up having a child. A daughter. Yang. Qrow was an uncle! It was one of the happiest moments of his life. Then, to the surprise of their quartet, she left. To where? They didn't know. They didn't hear from her ever again. It hurt Qrow immensely, to know that his sister would just up and leave a family that she'd created. But, he also knew her, and knew that she would've been a terrible mother. Tragedy after happiness struck again when Tai had a fling with Summer the year after, which lead to another daughter, Ruby. Summer died in childbirth.
Losing his sister to... wherever she went, then losing one of his best friends forever... it broke him a little. Sure, death happened. People died all the time. He knew that, it just never happened so close. It was just Tai and Qrow now. They tried to be in the girl's lives the best they could, given the fact that they had demanding dragonrider jobs and Qrow was falling further and further to alcohol because he had no coping mechanisms to be heard of. Years pass, the girls turn out well, Taiyang does good enough and Qrow still downs more wineskins than he should. It hurts him, and he knows it, but it's better than hurting emotionally... right? Right.
Tai decided to transfer over to Fort Weyr and take the girls, something something about bad memories being attached to Telgar, and told Qrow he should come with. It took Qrow a little while, a couple weeks, to get himself together enough to transfer to Fort. It really kicked in that he had to transfer once he found himself in the company of a gold firelizard that reminded himself way too much of Yang. When he got to Fort, Brachyth and Tai got on his back enough to make him realize that he was far too dependant on alcohol for his own good. He started the process of getting sober not only for himself (because, when he broke it down, he couldn't care less about himself), but for his nieces. And, you know, he didn't want to do something stupid and get thrown out and made Holdless again.
He fully blames all the current tensions between Fort and High Reaches on High Reaches if only for his very, very strong hatred of the place he picked up way back when because of Golre. While the Inverval War was ongoing in his youth, all the information he picked up (or, cared to pick up) made him believe that High Reaches was the cause. Ever since then, he's thought that they've been a bunch of bad apples. If something's bad between High Reaches and another Weyr? It's Reaches' fault.
