Seto rarely goes anywhere without a glare or expression of distaste, always looking as though he’s out to murder anybody who gets in his way. Often choosing clothing that accents his well-kept form, Seto rarely wears anything less than perfect clothes. Not necessarily rich fabrics, but definitely sturdy and well made pieces.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: If there are any words that perfectly describe Seto, those words would be stubborn and proud. Bullheaded beyond measure, Seto has a set way of looking at things and won’t change his opinions for anyone or anything. He believes himself to always be right, and while from an intellectual standpoint he often is, he has the emotional intelligence and grace of a teaspoon. He has a definitive habit of putting his foot in his mouth where people are concerned, though he rarely cares for the feelings of anybody but Mokuba.
Ambitious to a fault, Seto works hard and aims to take a leadership position within the Weyr one day. He wants to be someone his brother can be proud of, but also fully believes that he’s best suited to be in leadership rather than simply being an ordinary rider. After all, he’s clearly the best, so why would he be the one to follow others, right? Or so he believes, anyways. He so cannot stand losing, to the point where he lashes out at everyone around when he loses.
His younger brother is the only one who gets any of his tenderness. He acts stern on the surface, but saves all his care for Mokuba. Protective in the extreme, anybody who harms his brother will find themselves on the wrong end of Seto’s fists, more than likely. Rules matter little to Seto, especially where Mokuba is concerned.
Seto also has a flair for the dramatic, tending to move more aggressively than a normal person would.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
Mokuba (Brother)
Father (Deceased)
Mother (Deceased)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: Minor Cothold not worth mentioning.
HISTORY: Born to a loving mother and father, Seto was a relatively happy kid for the first few years of his life. He was happy, and loved. However, this all changed a few years after the birth of his younger brother when both parents passed away in an accident, and they were raised communally from that point on. While they weren’t treated badly by the adults, Mokuba was often bullied by the other children. In order to protect his little brother Seto would often get into or start fights. Anybody who even looked at Mokuba funny would be punched, and Seto got into a great deal of trouble over the years for it.
During this time, Seto had been apprenticing as a smith. The journeyman who’d been teaching him wasn’t fond of his attitude, but put up with it since Seto never seemed to fully stop working, and never actually got caught by his boss once he’d gotten a bit older. He wasn’t overly fond of the work, but in the tiny cothold it was one of the most useful professions he could have gone into, and stuck with it until he was about 15 or so.
Once he’d turned 15, a searchrider came to his little tiny hold, and to Seto’s own surprise wanted him as a candidate. At first, Seto refused, not wanting to leave Mokuba behind, but later ended up deciding to go if he could bring Mokuba to live in the Weyr as an ordinary weyrbrat. Going to Igen Weyr, he would spend the next several years as a candidate, with Mokuba growing up normally within the Weyr. Still somewhat of a troublemaker, Seto remained surly and unwilling to make friends, and always regarded anybody close to Mokuba with suspicion.
Though he got into less fights in the Weyr, Seto still had something of a reputation for doing what he wanted. Until he turned 18, he was often punished for various incidents, albeit not always started by him. Once he’d turned 18, he managed to impress to a lovely white named Bruueyeth. As a weyrling he was a bit more calm, though he was still very proud and had a habit of boasting about how much better he was.
He wanted to be the best for his brother, taking the lessons he learned seriously even if he tended to ignore people otherwise. He was always pushing himself (and Bruueyeth) to be better at everything they did, whether it be drills or lessons or even just chores. His mouth still got him in trouble often enough, but at this stage in his life he was less likely to punch people for angering him. Graduating with the rest of his class, Seto quickly learned being a true rider was very different from the lessons. Lessons could prepare him, sure, but he didn’t truly understand the dangers until receiving minor injuries during his first threadfall. Another rider saved him from more severe injuries, and from that point on he trained harder than ever in his own time.
Eventually, though, he decided he didn’t really like his place within the Weyr, and arranged to transfer to Fort, bringing his brother with him once more. Now 24, he’s still new to the Weyr, though he’s been assigned to the Aurora Wing for now.
