Vahlia cuts a trim and true Dragonrider figure; tall and covered in lean muscle from Turns riding. She is narrow in the bust and waist, with the same cream like complexion of her parents. Vahlia's long, oval face has a wider nose and high cheekbones. Her hair is a medium milk chocolate color, running warm with tawny highlights. Her eyes are a bright and warm brown, framed by dark brown eyelashes. Vahlia is often found in uniform, riding leathers and knots appropriate to her rank. She has a few dresses tucked away for Gathers, Hatchings and Turn's End celebrations. While her dragonriding leathers are various shade of brown, her Gather wear runs toward gem tones of garnet red, sapphire blue and emerald green.

PERSONALITY:
Vahlia has a gregarious personage, quick to laugh and eager to met new people. With a secure attachment style, Vahlia makes friendships easily and doesn't take offense quickly. She's an extroverted individual, often game for an adventure or a party. Confident and self possessed, Vahlia is comfortable in her skin and her sentiments. She is bisexual and polyamorous and in Weyrbred fashion, has had several long running, multi-person constellation relationships over her life between cis gendered men and women, as well as trans men and women and non-binary people.
Most of her friends and well as lovers are Weyrfolk, nearly all of them Dragonriders. Intentionally so. Vahlia is heavily biased in favor of Weyrfolk, Dragonriders in particular. Simply put, Vahlia believes Dragonriders are simply better than other people. This classist attitude is known to raise it's ugly head at times, especially if Vahlia has been drinking.
Vahlia is also dependable, attending to her duties with a will. She acts intentionally and is willing to learn from any source. This teachable virtue and the fact that any tasks she agrees to, Vahlia will see it done is telling. Perhaps, in time, the Weyrleadership will take notice of these leadership qualities.

HISTORY:
Vahlia was born to a pair of Weyrmated dragonriders at Fort Weyr, the oldest child of Wingrider Dahlia of Blue Tarzigath and V'leo of Green Wellenith. She was fostered at an early age and was joined by her brother Dahleo at the age of six. Vahlia and Dahleo were fostered to Mirane and her wife Jestia, who both worked in the kitchens of Fort Weyr. As a child, Vahlia spent a lot of her hours in lower caverns of Fort Weyr, often assisting with whatever chores needed doing in the kitchens. Kitchens chores and household cleaning filled most of her hours, along with lessons with the other Weyrbrats under the under the tutelage of an experienced Harper at Fort Weyr. At these lessons, Vahlia learned the teaching songs, how to read, write and solve math questions.
As soon as Vahlia was old enough to Stand, she became a Candidate. With Dragonrider parents, it was Vahlia's hope she would Impress and that it would come soon. This thought was soon followed by a time in Vahlia's life she joked as "The Great Impatient Age". Hatching came and went and Vahlia made friends who became Weyrlings and went forth without her. It wasn't until she was 24 turns old that life took a turn for the better.
In the early summer of Turn 2763, Gold Queen Macath clutch with Brown Espinneth hatched at Fort Weyr. Vahlia's brown eyes were filled with longing as the first egg hatched, a blue dragonet springing forth. The blue did not look at her but chose another candidate. There were only fourteen eggs on the sands that day. Suddenly, Vahlia staggered a little at a firm push from behind startled her.
There you are, Vahlia! I've been looking for you. I am Xiometh.
Vahlia turned around to see a beautiful Garnet dragon. Xiometh was a deep purple in color, shaded in lavender and highlighted in pink tones that covers her wings like flames. Never had Vahlia seen a more perfectly formed dragonet, with her lithe limbs and whip like tail.
"Xiometh. You're so beautiful, my dear heart." Vahlia sighed, kneeling down in the sand to stroke the delicate face of the newly hatched Garnet dragon. Vahlia had Impressed and had in Xiometh a lifelong partner who would always stand beside her. Together, Vahlia and Xiometh completed their Weyrling training.
As time went by, Xiometh grew from a fetching hatchling to a beautiful adult Garnet dragon. The Turns would see Xiometh contribute to the population of dragons on Pern; eggs resulted from her flight with bronze dragon Spykth. These eggs contributed to the Defenders of Solus Clutch in the Late Spring of 2766 at Semaca Weyr. Later, when Xiometh was caught by Blue Syrenith, she clutched two eggs that hatched at Fort Weyr. This clutch hatched in the Late Summer 2767.
Vahlia and Xiometh continue to live and work as a Wingriders of the Twilight Wing at Fort Weyr.
