PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
If Z'rya is anything, she is known to be headstrong. No matter what challenge there is, she is determined to overcome it. She refuses to back down from a challenge and will often push herself to the limits when most people would back down. She prides herself on her physical strength, flexing at times to just look at her muscles. Along with this, she is protective of those she cares for. She will go out of her way and even risk her own life to try and ensure they're safe.
However, she is very judgmental and is often harsh in her judgement. If someone does something that causes problems for others, she will be unlikely to forgive them or believe that they will improve. This is especially true for High Reaches. She firmly believes that High Reaches can not be trusted and that people who were born there are horrible people. She doesn't even care for former Fort riders who transferred back to Fort after the stolen eggs. To her, they are as much to blame for the stolen eggs as the rest of High Reaches was and that they don't belong in Fort. She will often refuse to work with those who are from High Reaches as a result.

BIRTHPLACE: Fort Weyr
HISTORY: TW: Injury
Zaryanova lived a fairly average life growing up. Both of her parents were dragonriders and Zaryanova always looked up to them. She was determined to be just like them and would often ask her parents about what they had done during the day, excited to hear their stories. When she turned fifteen, she was excited, to say the least, to begin her candidacy.
While her first three years went out without much problems and no impressions, it happened. Golre had launched two raids against Fort Weyr after the peace treaties were signed. Zaryanova could only watch as her parents fought above in the skies to protect the weyr from High Reaches. It was during that first battle that her father fell to the ground, both him and his dragon dying before a healer could reach them.
Zaryanova felt hatred for the weyr that had caused her father's death and began to dislike anyone associated with the weyr. Even if Golre would be killed in the next battle, nothing changed her stands about the other weyr and those who came or went to the weyr. To her, High Reaches did not deserve any help, nor should Fort give any help after all they've done to the weyr.
Perhaps it was the anger in her heart that caused her to not impress any dragons as she got older. She was getting close to the age of 25 and when she would no longer be able to become a dragonrider. She had heard that there was a hatching going on in Ista Weyr and she decided, even if she did not care for the weyr, that this may be her only chance.
She kept to herself during those last weeks leading between the touching and the hatching. She did not want to make friends, especially as she planned on leaving the weyr as soon as she graduated if she impressed. On the day of the hatching, she stood away from some of the other candidates, just staring down at the eggs. One by one, the dragons hatched and impressed, without a single one paying attention to Zaryanova.
She had turned away, keeping her eyes to the ground, when she heard shouts and warnings. When she turned, a bronze, albeit a smaller one, was sprinting towards her. It happened so fast, with the next thing she remembered was blood pouring from her forehead and the dragon sitting beside her as healers rushed to her. The dragon was talking about how excited he was to finally meet her and apologizing for knocking her down. Zaryanova, now Z'rya, couldn't help, but laugh.
Of course her dragon would be as excited as she was, though she did not show it.
Gravith and her were quite a duo, pushing each other to become stronger. They shared a strong bond and eventually, Z'rya graduated. As she returned home, she joined Midnight Wing. She was proud of being part of the Queen's Wing, working hard to serve Fort Weyr.
Eventually, in 2770, when Gravith was getting close to being four years old, two eggs mysteriously disappeared from Fort and ended up in High Reaches. Z'rya immediately decided that High Reaches had stolen the eggs and, even if those originally from Fort returned, she still viewed them as thieves. To her, this was the final straw.
Anyone born from HR or who just returned from it were not to be trusted.
