FULL APPEARANCE: Although 5'10" is not an impressive height for a cisgender Pernese man, he is not short, either. However, he appears smaller than he is, due to a slender frame with neither muscle nor fat. In fact, he's scrawny and almost delicate in form. Despite the lifestyle of a rider, D'javi remains on the weaker side. His skin tone is pale and pasty, though he often has a touch of color on his face and ears. His doe-like eyes are dark brown and he has a cute little button nose. If not for the smug expression on his face, he'd have a certain innocent charm to his face. He's still pretty, of course, but there's nothing innocent or naive about that smirk.
His hair is blonde and on the curlier side. It looks messy, but in fact, it is painstakingly styled. He has quite the sense of fashion, but his fashion style is incredibly tacky. He likes lace, fur, tassels, and so on. He tends to wear a lot of (relatively) cheap, tacky-looking bracelets of various types. He also pairs colors together that he shouldn't, with a preference for bright colors and pinks. He likes to wear clothing that shows off his arms or legs when possible. D'javi claims he's just "showing off the goods" and "letting the people have what they want."
His stomach and chest have scars from a wild wher. Despite a tendency towards revealing clothing, he does not show areas that would reveal his scars.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: D'javi is dramatic. He may not be a harper, but he's a performer: the world is his stage. In actuality, he's little more than a drama king. His theatrical tendencies include everything from spreading rumors and melodrama to less harmful dramatic gestures or being a bit of a goof. He's a jokester, a class clown, someone who enjoys messing with people--but he tends to be a bit mean about it. He'll tease you, but it might strike a little too close to home. Overall, he can be a rude asshole and a jerk, thinly veiling it under the guise of "humor." If he insults you and you get hurt, well, it was clearly just a JOKE, can't you take a joke?
Otherwise, he is just...mean. He enjoys putting others down, and uses this to build himself up. Of course, D'javi is confident in his abilities regardless; but he's even BETTER in comparison to others. You may think you're cool, but have you considered that you aren't HIM? What a loser. Overall, D'javi is stuck up, arrogant, and pretentious. He's a know-it-all, and often wears a smug little grin. In terms of actual abilities...D'javi is mediocre at best. He has no physical ability, lacks discipline, and can be lazy. He has no real skills, and although he does his duties, they are usually the bare minimum. He seems to think that his tendency to avoid work is a good thing--he's just delegating to those who are lesser. Which is everyone. He is surprisingly "traditional" about the color hierarchy, only because it benefits him, personally. He is a bit of a liar, and often dishonest. He's willing to manipulate and use people, but is mostly just a smug jerk.
D'javi is all about the aesthetic. He thinks he has a sense of fashion, which is high fashion, and no one seems to understand that. In actuality, he has no sense of fashion and is incredibly tacky in his clothing choices. He doesn't seem to understand the concept of "too much," for example. He responds well to those who fawn over him, enjoying others who build up his ego or adhere to his worldview.
Despite his proud demeanor, acting like nothing bothers him and he's on top of the world, he's pretty torn up about almost dying. He tends to deflect when it's brought up, avoiding processing it, but it results in fear and cowardice at times. D'javi hates whers and is often intimidated by them. He'll play it off, but he definitely might start shaking and purposefully striding away for no reason, clearly.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
-Mother: Dajimura
-Father: Virieln
-5 Older siblings (+6, +5, +4, +2, +1) - sister Murieln (+1) is the only named one
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: (optional)
BIRTHPLACE: Caravan (near Telgar at the time)
HISTORY: CW Near death experience/injury
Dajavi was born as the sixth and final child to a pair of traders. Traveling was all he knew; it could be dangerous, of course, but the traders knew how to be safe. Dajavi's early life was relatively easy. He was the baby of the family, spoiled rotten, and got everything he asked for growing up. He was especially close to the sibling who was closest to his age, Murieln. In 2755, thread began to fall, but it was predictable. Dajavi was five at the time, but never experienced any disruption to his life due to threadfall. After all, with the proper information and charts, they could simply avoid traveling during a fall.
Overall, Dajavi's childhood was uneventful. The family was charmed to avoid trouble, but really, wasn't that boring? Dajavi often snuck out of camp at night, usually with Murieln. They would explore the area, wherever they were. For a while, they were lucky; no injuries, no danger, just fun and exploration. In 2767, however, when he was 17 and she was 18, they found something interesting: a wild wher clutch. Like the teenagers they were, they decided to try to Impress the whers, mostly on a whim. Unfortunately, they did not consider that the mother, a large garnet, would return to her clutch. The wher had struck Dajavi first, clawing at his chest and stomach, before going for Murieln.
Luckily, their screams brought the caravan guards to their side, who chased off the wher. This was not before they'd both been injured. The guards had found Murieln dangling upside down from the wher's mouth like some kind of rag doll, with Dajavi bleeding on the ground. The healers managed to save Dajavi, but their focus on stopping the blood meant that Murieln, who was in better shape, was ignored at first. Murieln's ankle, where she'd been grabbed, was broken, and she'd have a limp for the rest of her life. Dajavi, on the other hand, would only boast scars and a slight stiffness around the abdomen.
At first, Dajavi's family was just glad they'd both survived. Dajavi, however, felt ashamed, though he hid it well. Around this time, he went from a carefree youth to an absolute clown, trying to hide and avoid the negative feelings he felt. He drifted away from Murieln, mostly out of shame.
A turn later, in 2769, the family visited Telgar hold during search, and a rider found Dajavi suitable. Eager to avoid stressful reminders of his past, Dajavi accepted, moving to Telgar. At his very first hatching, he Impressed to Bronze Cerasth. After graduating weyrlinghood, he fought thread with Telgar, before deciding to move to Fort, mostly because Telgar was forsking cold. In 2774, when he was finally old enough to transfer, he moved to Fort Weyr.
UPDATES
- Spring 2775: Cerasth gets too close to another dragon in the formation, putting himself (and D'javi) in the path of Paleskyth's flame. Cerasth's back is only slightly burned (Mild), but D'javi's left arm and knee are much more badly burned (Major).
