She keeps her black hair in a chin-length bob framing her face, perhaps her only concession to practicality that she does by choice. Though she prefers dresses to pants, she has conceded that pants are a better choice for the infirmary. She likes to wear greens and blues, and has some dresses in those colors for Gather days. She doesn't wear jewelry on an everyday basis, but does have a couple of prized necklaces stashed away.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Tae is a deeply caring healer who wants to help people. She enjoys both studying scrolls and working in the infirmary, almost relishing the messier aspects of healing. However, having lost most of her faith in the Healercraft institution after her youth, she prefers to take a more direct approach and trust her own knowledge and instincts. She doesn't outright defy authority, not wanting to be even more closely supervised, but she tends to take initiative if there's any wiggle room for her own decisions. She's reluctant to let dragonhealers around Mokoith despite not having much dragonhealing training herself.
Tae is highly critical, both of herself and others. Criticism sends her into self-doubt and self-deprecation. She's learned to keep her negative opinions of her peers to the few people she trusts, but does not hold back with her opinions when talking shards behind people's backs. While she doesn't go out of her way to eavesdrop, she usually pauses to listen whenever gossip is happening in her vicinity.
While it is hard to earn her trust, Tae does genuinely care about her friends and patients. She has a bit of a morbid sense of humor, which she lets loose around her friends. Her playful side usually comes out only around her romantic interests, though she isn't great at flirting. She also doesn't have the best taste in potential partners, much to her chagrin.
HISTORY

BIRTHPLACE: Telgar Weyr
HISTORY: Tae was born to a pair of riders at Telgar. Like many weyrbrats, she knew their identities, but rarely saw them or spent time with them. She had an uneventful childhood other than her keen interest in healing. She apprenticed when she was nine, wanting to help injured riders and learn more about how to treat wounds.
Things went well for several Turns. But, soon before she was set to walk the tables, Tae was made the scapegoat for a journeyman's error. He mixed up the fellis dosages of two adult patients, causing one to be in unnecessary pain and the other to be sedated more than they needed. When he realized his error, he claimed that Tae had been the one to measure the doses. He was largely believed due to being a journeyman who held seniority over Tae.
Both affected patients recovered with no lasting effects and went on their ways, but Tae's reputation never quite recovered. Disillusioned and bitter, Tae signed up for candidacy. She had nothing to lose, or so she thought, and a dragon to gain.
When Tae was 22, having stood for about a Turn, she Impressed to a rather unusual dragon. He was a blue, not a unique, but in her opinion his extra wings qualified just as much. As she went through weyrling training, she realized that she wanted to be back in the infirmary helping Threadfall victims more than she wanted to go fly Thread herself. Mokoith's extra wings created drag, making it harder for him to fly than his peers. He objected a bit at first, but realized both he and Tae would be happier primarily on the ground.
Tae earned her journeyman's knots soon after graduation. Wanting to make a fresh start away from the journeyman who had ruined her reputation, she requested a transfer to Fort Weyr. Telgar had enough healers, and there was no one she was especially close to anyway.
