“Power is cold, it’s about control. It’s a game, there are winners and losers. If someone has power, that means intrinsically that someone else does not.”

FULL APPEARANCE:
Ginia is rather short at 5' 1" tall, but she's oddly fit for her height, thanks to a dedication to Candidacy and later wherlinghood that granted her such a build. Wildly curly, her hair is a rich brown color, as are her eyes, albeit a little darker than her hair; her skin is a warm toffee brown, clear except for a small scar in her palm's heel, where she blooded Iniask. As for her wardrobe, her friends call her fashion sense "boring," often demonstrated through muted colors and out-of-date styles; otherwise, she wears her riding leathers on a regular basis.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Ginny is someone who genuinely cares for others, though she sometimes struggles to show it, especially to those who aren't her immediate family. Though she's very close to her younger half-brother, determined to protect him and give him everything he could ever need or want, her connection to her mother is a different story. Seeing herself as more responsible than her mother, who she sometimes thinks doesn't give a shard about them, Ginny is usually pretty distant, but gets as much criticism as she gives in still frequent fights between them. But in spite of these difficulties, she's a driven and dedicated young woman, attentive to her studies and her future.
Though it's usually not her intention to hurt others, Ginny is sometimes incredibly obtuse regarding others' feelings. More often than not, she doesn't understand why someone might be upset at something that's inconsequential to her, which leads her to respond in a rather blunt and deadpan fashion. If put under enough pressure, she can react by retaliating, being confrontational and difficult if stressed or scared. In addition, she can be very headstrong, set in her ways and unwilling to budge. While it's rare, Ginny can also be rather self-centered on occasion, especially if she feels unappreciated. In rarer cases, she sometimes makes herself intentionally blind to others' feelings, spitefully blaming it on being socially oblivious for some slight, real or imagined.

HISTORY:
Ginia was born from a chance encounter, a Journeyman Harper father and a dragonrider mother. While on Search, her mother had met her father and made an immediate connection. For some time, she ventured to visit on a regular basis, but these impromptu meetings slowly diminished in frequency before stopping altogether. But from one such occasion, Ginia was born, being placed in Fort's creche shortly after birth. Once her father had been informed about his new and unexpected status of parenthood, he made a point to visit his daughter as often as he could, remembering her Turnday in her mother's place, being an important, though sporadic, part of her life. Though her mother tried her best to follow suit and be an active and enthusiastic parent, her life as a dragonrider often kept her from doing so, which left Ginny seeing her influence as inconsistent.
Ginny grew up as most weyrbrats did, under care of creche workers and learning her letters and numbers from a young age. From there, her studies broadened into beginning to understand each Weyr's duty to Pern and dragonkin. To no one's surprise, she expressed interest in following suit, to Impress and fight under Fort Weyr's banner...but not to a dragon like her mother, but a wher. Disagreement from her mother drove a wedge between them that hasn't budged ever since. As determined as her father and headstrong as her mother, Ginny stood by her decision, furthering her studies and training to take up a wherhandler's duties, once she'd come of age. But four Turns after her own birth, her mother had a second child, his father a dragonrider. It wouldn't take long after meeting him for Ginia to grow incredibly fond and protective of her half-brother.
Though she watched her peers sign up for Candidacy at fifteen to seek dragons, Ginny did not join them, decided on waiting two more Turns to volunteer to possibly Impress a wher. While her mother tried to get her to reconsider and try even dual Candidacy, she still wouldn't budge; her mind was made up, her heart set on her path. Perhaps she realized her daughter wasn't going to change her mind, which led her to attempt to make things right between them. For Ginny's sixteenth Turnday, she contacted Ginny's father (who always made a point to visit for her Turndays) and enlisted his help to get a meaningful gift for her. Ginny would later receive a firelizard egg from her parents, which hatched into a garnet she named Lotus. After that, her relationship to her mother began to slowly mend. A Turn later, she was accepted as a wher Candidate.
And Ginny didn't need to wait long. Attending her first clutch, garnet Tamisk rolled an egg to her, her first egg of four, called Rebirth Season. To her adoration, a little green spilled forth, squeaking loudly at her, before she recalled her lessons and blooded her wherlet. Iniask was everything Ginny had wanted, her company an utter joy, her optimism and happiness making grey skies blue. Wherlinghood was a delight, graduation coming so much sooner than she anticipated; it felt like but yesterday that she'd Impressed Iniask! But between Serapheth's gold daughter, Ustreilith, hatching and later causing unrest in choosing a blue in mating flight, as well as dragonriders from across time landing in Fort, things didn't seem to want to stay quiet. But regardless of what might come, Ginny and Iniask and Lotus decided to face it together.
