Pyrus mostly takes after his mom. She was a taller than average, willowy woman and he’s a taller than average, willowy young man. He keeps his hair cut and groomed very meticulously, and keeps all his clothing looking as immaculate as the day he got it. Or he does to the best of his ability. He also wears a short caplet that you can pry from his cold dead hands. It was a gift from his mother and he still treats it like it’s the most important object in the world.
He’s not very muscular and is only slightly stronger than average, but he’s a wiggly one, and is thin enough to wiggle his way out of most holds. He keeps himself in shape regardless, and cares deeply about his body. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind, after all!
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Pyrus is a ray of sunshine in many ways. He’s physically up there and looming over most, and he has a great positive mindset that can be contagious. He believes that there is good in everyone and will encourage everyone to do their best. He thinks that as long as people put in an honest effort that they can reach their full potential, or at least a good enough potential. However, he can be seen as naive and is easily taken advantage of. In the same vein, he also easily forgives, allowing bad people back into his life again and again.
He’s also very loud and can be seen as annoying to those who prefer peace and quiet. But he is enthusiastic and will encourage others to continue in their quest for excellence. He’s also kind of a momma’s boy, speaking fondly of his mother and wondering how she’s doing when he has a moment of pause.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
Father – Gaster (Harper, Bluehandler)
Mother – Bau (Seamstress, clothing maker)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER:
BIRTHPLACE: Fort Weyr
HISTORY:
Gaster was a fullblown wherhandler by the time he met Pyrus’ mother. Theirs was a one time fling, both had agreed to it. But by the time Bau realized she was pregnant, Gaster realized that yes, he did care about her. They raised their child together, pouring all their love and care into him. Bau taught him how to be a capable clothing maker, though he didn’t wish to study it. Despite his desire to wander and expand, he also didn’t seem keen on leaving the weyr he’d been born into.
Gaster had suggested simply staying and going into wherhandling as well. That way he could still work alongside his mother when he had a chance, and also have a well respected position in the weyr. Well not THAT well respected but Pyrus didnt particularly see himself riding a dragon, so wherehandling it was. Granted, there were still plenty of responsibilities that came along with wherhandling, but Pyrus proved he was a very capable and responsible young man. Once he was of age, he started formally studying Wherhandling, though he’d gotten some basic knowledge from his father. He was a diligent student and more than capable of handling the rigorous lifestyle that came with it. Though his father offered to buy him a wher egg when he was older and a little more properly educated, Pyrus always turned him down. He felt it was a viable option, but just not his preferred means of meeting a life partner.
Unfortunately, Gaster fell ill and eventually pass away. It was a hard blow for his widow, son and wher. Pyrus fully expected Gask to run off and go feral. He had every right, as Gask had been in quite a bit of distress immediately after Gaster’s passing. However, after a season of getting their lives back together, Gask would find Pyrus and ask if he would like to establish a bond. He’d considered just up and leaving but he would feel remiss leaving him behind like Pyrus’ father had. Pyrus, of course, was more than happy to establish a bond and a less than ideal partnership was born.
