FULL APPEARANCE:
KV is a short, scrawny little guy. He's never had the best sense of balance and you could easily knock him over with a strong throw of a pail of water. They keep their hair shoulder length and not an inch longer since the feeling of hair on his shoulders drives him insane. He has pale, pale skin that is prone to sunburns, and blue, blue eyes that are prone to pain if he is out in bright sunlight for too long.
He wears clothes that are functional and comfortable, but he also really wants to look cool. They try to shoot for at least two of those three criteria when they get dressed. If they can knock out all three in one go? Then it's a great day for them.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
KV is always going to be a little immature. They're always gonna take the chance to make inappropriate, childish, and crude jokes just because they feel like they missed out on the chance when they were smaller. He tends to make self-deprecating comments and jokes as well. All in all, he's a casually humorous guy, quick with a joke here, quicker with a smile there... but this isn't always a good thing. He will try to worm out of serious conversations pertaining to his actions or behavior using his humor. Serious conversations like these send him alight with anxiety, and he has a hard time being genuine during them.
Their heart is huge and they care very deeply about others. He wants to help people when he can and always be there for his friends. They will never listen to the advice they give out to others because they can picture solutions for others' problems but can never picture ones for their own. He can easily be pushed around and made to do things for other people to his own detriment- he always seems to be stretched just a little too thin. After a scrape with death, KV has begun to really grapple with the idea of his own mortality, and it freaks him out a lot. This impacts his sleep habits by him either staying up too late thinking or via a series of nightmares, so he is always just a little too tired to function optimally. It's very common that they'll make simple mistakes that could easily spiral into large ones if not taken care of.

HISTORY:
Kirvin was the second-born child in a family descending from a long line of wherhandling guards. He was expected to follow in their suit the second he was old enough to Impress a wher, but he knew the basics of wherhandling care well before that day came. It was very early in their life that they knew they didn't align with traditional masculine roles, but felt closer to them than much else. They labeled themself as non-binary, but didn't really care too much if someone called him a guy.
Once he was old enough to be put to work, KV worked day in and day out doing odd jobs around the hold. His parents did their best to instill very strict moral values and a very intense work ethic into him, and to some mild degree, they stuck. But, he often found himself not really living up to their expectations regardless of what he did. He never really got the chance to goof around or be a kid, he either was working or his parents were teaching him something about his future career.
Their 17th turnday gift was a wher egg, as they suspected. They would be following after both his parents, as well as their older brother, in the family trade. A green popped out of the egg, and after following all the proper steps, the two were bonded. He thought it would feel more fulfilling. This is what his entire life had been building up to, and yet? It didn't feel like he had hoped it would. It was almost like it was just another day. Maybe it would kick in after a while?
It didn't. Even after Kirvisk was fully grown and the two started doing guard work, he still felt like he should be doing something else. Still, he knew he couldn't let his feelings about his job get in the way of his actual performance. The people living in his hold's lives depended, in part, on him. So, he did his best and kept pushing that negative feeling down as far as he could.
One night, a group of bandits got past the guards on duty, broke into the hold, and started stealing whatever they could. Once KV had realized this, they raced into duty. Through a string of hasty, and genuinely stupid decisions, the fate of KV's life was in total control of one particularly angry bandit. Their brother, Venar, talked down the bandit with a knife to KV's throat, on the condition that the bandits could walk out of the hold with their haul. Venar made the call, and the bandits ran off into the night with their stolen goods.
Since that night, KV was always up thinking about what could have happened. What if Venar failed? What if the bandit didn't even care? It frightened him, less so the events of that night, but him acknowledging the very real fact of life that he could die at any moment. That spiraled into him acknowledging that anyone could die at any time. It wasn't that he didn't know before, it had just never hit him that hard.
A drive to help others, to protect others, started growing within him. Finally, he felt like guarding was meant for him. Then, he started feeling like he wasn't doing enough to help others. His family and the other guards could handle the hold, KV wanted to move to a weyr. Help the greatest amount of people as he could. What one was the closest? Fort Weyr. He packed his things and transferred over.
He's glad to have missed all the revolt drama, as well as the recent fire. For now, he is looking ahead to the future, and preparing himself for whatever may come their way.
