FULL APPEARANCE: Mipha is short, but well built. She's got a toned body from turns of helping her parents at sea, then her time as a candidate. She has red hair that she usually wears tied back into a fishtail braid and warm brown eyes. Her face is round and friendly looking. Her hands and small with nimble fingers perfect for tying knots in nets or the finer work of suturing a wound.
She is a fastidious bather, as she was never fond of the smell of the sea lingering on her hair or skin at her home Hold. She favors clothes that are easy to work in and prefer bright, warm colors.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Mipha is a sweetheart. She's kind, gentle, and always willing to help out. She's always willing to lend a helping hand, even if it means getting her hands dirty. She's especially protective of the little ones.
Mipha has great empathy. She can usually tell when someone is upset, and she tries her best to be there to offer comfort. She's also really good at putting herself in someone else's shoes.
She can be a little shy. She doesn't like to draw attention to herself, and she prefers to stay in the background. Mipha just prefers to take things slow and get to know people before she opens up to them.
Mipha is fiercely loyal to her friends and family. She would do anything for them, no questions asked. She is also very protective, and would do almost anything to keep them safe.
She's also compassionate, and great with working around kids and animals. She found herself a natural and calming presence when Healing. She loves helping people feel better.
Mipha's drive to help others can lead her to being a bit too self sacrificing. She would willingly give up her own pleasure or comfort if it meant someone she was caring for was just that much more pleased or comforted. She has been known to run herself ragged more than once while on a Healing shift.
Mipha is bad at keeping focus on tasks at times. She'll find herself starting one thing, but as she realizes something else she should do, she leaves the first task to start a second one. Sometimes that even leads to a third, or a fourth task. Unfortunately, there have also been times where she hasn't gone back to actually finish the original task she started before the spiral.

HISTORY: Mipha was the elder child born to Rutela and Dorephan, two fisherfolk at Ista Hold. She was drawn to the sea from a young age and joined her parents in their craft as soon as she could help. When Sidon was born a few turns later, she taught him what she knew. She always had a secret longing to be part of something more though.
As she entered her teen years, she started to worry that being a fisher might be all there is to her life. She loved her life and her family, but she hoped for a change to be a part of something bigger, like one of those dragonriders.
She finally got her chance when a Searchrider from Ista Weyr came visiting around her 18th turn. She put herself forward and the dragon chose her. She was stoked and while she shared a tearful farewell with her family, she knew this was what she was meant to do.
Her time at Ista was full of training and standing for clutches. Many, many clutches. And she was left standing at them all. As part of her candidate training, she took up a craft. She found herself a natural Healer. As her 25th turn approached and she got close to washing out, she decided to make it official and became an Apprentice.
As she hit 26 in 2769 and lost out her chance to be a rider at Ista, she considered transferring to High Reaches or Semeca, where the age limit was 30. She ended up deciding to take a turn or so break though as she wasn't sure she could handle much more rejection. She had 5 whole turns left after all.
In 2772, when the age was raised to 30 across Pern, Mipha decided to rejoin, though she also took the opportunity to transfer to Fort Weyr when Serapheth laid her clutch. Again, she was left standing, but her brief time away renewed her desire and gumption so she wasn't phased.
Finally, as she was in her very last turn as a Candidate, nearly too late, she stood for Ustreilith's clutch. This was bound to be her last so the anticipation and anxiety was high as more and more eggs hatched and Impressed. She had been drawn to Empty Memory during the Touching, the empty feeling in the shell making her worried, and she had been scared it wouldn't hatch when it hadn't shown signs of rocking and cracking until late in the Hatching. She cheered when her mother cracked the egg for her baby and a green dropped into the Sands.
The Green, Shinometh, looked around before stopping at Mipha. With the swirl of rainbows, she was bonded. Mipha loved her from the beginning and helped her through her troubles.
Her time as a weyrling was hard, as Shinometh needed lots of help, but she is definitely up to the challenge and she will prove that Shinometh chose right as the Turns pass.
