FULL APPEARANCE: Nothing about Alara's appearance stands out upon first look. Neither a towering figure nor a stout one, she's as likely to blend in with a dark corner as anything else. Her skin has an olive tinge to it, a likely sign of time spent outdoors, there is some indication that she's no hold-bound lady. While no major scars disfigure her form, her hands, arms, and legs are dotted with small reminders of past battles with splinters, the teeth and claws of animals, and whatever random shrubs she's lost to in a fight. Medium-blue eyes look out under relatively robust eyebrows but are often hidden in her shoulder-length brown hair, which is more often unkempt than fashioned into plaits or curls. The allocation of lipids to her chest is ample, though with her usual dress of tunic and trousers, it's almost never accentuated, perhaps purposefully so. And with the tone of her arm muscles, maybe you shouldn't try to look too closely unless invited. She's no bodybuilder but looks like she can handle her own.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Given often times to humor, Alara loves to crack a joke or watch someone's soul leave their body after one of her terrible puns. It does take her a little bit to warm up to people though, tending more towards introversion than being the life of the party. She loves animals and is noted to be experienced with all manner of beasts, though some more than others. You're as likely to find her trying to win the affections of a canine as those of a man, though she's found more luck using food with both.

She doesn't tend towards aggression or boldness, but enough anger can goad her into fighting back when necessary. She's more likely to be a mediator than a combatant, though, and will often lend a friendly ear or advice when needed. She is more often than not too timid to really stand up for herself, which can mean she gets pushed around some. This also gives her some trouble saying no and she's often ended up with more piled onto her plate than is good, the recipient of tasks that others pushed onto her. This is also why she prefers the company of animals and will find a reason to slip away to the stables/paddocks or her weyr if she is pushed to a point where she becomes too uncomfortable. She will try and joke her way out of an awkward situation sometimes, which can sometimes work but sometimes get her into deeper trouble, often when offense is taken despite her almost never meaning to offend.

HISTORY: Born to Beastcraft parents, Alara has spent the majority of her life around all manner of creatures, though most especially runnerbeasts. She's learned how to care for mild and some moderate injuries, though cannot properly be called a beast healer. Though taken easily enough to education, she did have a tendency to let her mind wander, which has caused some annoyance with all manner of instructors. Nothing that remarkable can be said about her past. She's shown herself to bright and capable, though stubborn. Any trouble she's been in has been minor, and usually because she just had to open her mouth. She was apprenticed under the guidance of her parents, aiding in the breeding and training of draft-type runners.

She has had somewhat of a reputation with her fellow stablehands as being up for an adventure in the haystacks when inclined, though she's not ever been seen publicly with a beau of choice, not one yet to have settled down. Though patient and generally able to read the animals in her care well, she has been at the receiving end of plenty a nervous or ornery beast, lending to the scars dotting her limbs. Her natural curiosity also came with scrapes and bruises as she eagerly would explore anything new. Not with complete lack of caution, but she's still had her share of tumbles and slips. She was Searched by accident, that accident being almost tossing a shovelful of horse manure onto a visiting rider instead of the waiting wheelbarrow, but the conversation that ensued caught the attention of them and their mount. The dragon was listening in, and seemed to sense the telepathic potential of Alara. The scratches she gave to his eye ridges did nothing to sour his opinion of her, either. The offer to present herself as a Candidate at hatching came as a surprise, though a delightful one, and though she had never flown before, the way to the Weyr brought out more excitement and curiosity in her than fear.

She wants a life partner and to expand her knowledge of the creatures of Pern, likely eventually with the companionship of a firelizard as well. She would love to learn some basic dragonhealing as well.

What type of candidate is your character: Dragon

What color/s does your character want?: Mostly green (it's a pretty color, after all), though gold is also good (however unlikely), she wouldn't necessarily hate getting another color though

Does your character have any personality preferences or concerns?: She'd like a dragon that's friendly and with a sense of humor. Patience is not entirely necessary, but not entirely brainless would be good. She would be pretty concerned to get a dragon that was prone to anger or meanness.

What color(s) are you willing for your character to impress to?: Garnet or green are top choices, but I'm open to any other color as well!

Do you want your character to be eligible for gold?: Yes

Do you have any personality preferences or concerns?: I would prefer to not have an abrasive personality match. More benevolent than belligerent for sure.

Do you have any other preferences or concerns?: She'd prefer a female dragon, ability to clutch is good but not needed

Why do you think these choice/s would be a good fit?: Having a good personality match would make her more able to navigate life as a rider, though having a slight clash could certainly be interesting if it wasn't that extreme.

Do you have any preferences about the conditions of your character’s impression?: Not in particular, but I'm definitely open to weird circumstances or mishaps, so long as they aren't too severe

Are you alright with your character getting hurt?: I'm okay with it. I'd prefer it if it wasn't severe or career-ending, but she's used to getting scraped up, clawed, bitten to an extent so it'll just be another decorative scar, right?

Is there anything you will ABSOLUTELY NOT accept?: I'd be able to accept pretty much anything short of a human hatching out of an egg and trying to Impress Alara.

FULL APPEARANCE:
Alubrath is a large garnet, decidedly pudgy rather than muscular, who will stay that way regardless of how much or little she eats or how far she flies. Her face is big and round, with soft, friendly looking features. Her hide is a distinctive light, bubble gum pink, fading to purple along her wings and along her spine and the top of her head. She has dots of a darker pink forming a sort of crown and necklace around her head and neck. Overall, Alubrath looks a bit like a young girl's favorite soft toy in dragon form. She is very huggable.

PERSONALITY

PERSONALITY:
Large and not quite in charge, Alubrath is a friendly dragon, eager to talk with newcomers and share what she's learned and found with them. Every new person is a chance to learn and share her knowledge with, though she has little sense of personal boundaries. They exist, obviously! She just likes to get close, and a little bit overbearingly cuddly. She is a dragon with a fine eye for value, picking out stones that may have something to them other than a fine shine. She is also a hoarder, so her bonded better be prepared to just find piles of stones and small trinkets that she's found. She is not a thief, that is a line she refuses to cross. She loves to share her collection, especially with new people, and she loves to hear about their interests as well.

To her rider, Alubrath is a cheerful partner. She likes being around them, finding it nice to have someone there. Visitors and friends are also good! Despite her very pink hide, she has no aversion to doing the dirty work, and will likely often be covered in dirt if she is allowed to go hunting for treasure. She is interested in learning about how humans do things, not that she can repeat them. Knowledge of making things is interesting! Alubrath would not consider herself a maternal creature, more content to take care of inanimate things other than living ones.

Voice: Surprisingly deep, Alubrath's voice is comforting, like a big soft pillow.

Why Me?: Alubrath may be a little more cheery than Alara is expecting, but this big softie has a heart of gold and thinks Alara is perfect for her. They can learn about the other creatures of the world together... and find some nice trinkets in the process.
