Ahlanour looks like many other young men. He stands somewhat shorter than most, at five foot seven, and has a fairly delicate, fragile build. He isn't powerful or muscular looking and, as a matter of fact, is thin enough to look sickly. His skin is a light pale color, and when he spends enough time in the sun it becomes a sickly tan. Alan has bright green eyes, which stand out starkly against his skin. His hair is wavy, reaching to his ears in the front and the nape of his neck in the back. It is a dark brown color, which could easily be mistaken for black in all but the brightest of light. His hair is fairly messy, with a cowlick in the top right part of it, popping up no matter how much he tries to brush it or slick it down.
He has a rather feminine face, with high cheekbones and a pointed chin. His voice isn't deep in the least. It isn't high enough to be girly, but is somewhere in between. Some days it's raspy, almost breathless, but for the most part it's very soft, with a bit of a lilt. One could go a long while without hearing his accent, as it only gets thick when he becomes agitated, or spirited about something. Al tends to dress fairly plainly. Most of the time, he wears a tunic of some sort, usually a pale blue or green in color, along with trousers, leather bracers, boots, and gloves to match.

Ahlanour is a very quiet, shy young man. He tends to stay to himself, preferring to keep his head down and get his work done. Ahlanour doesn't like to make friends, and doesn't intend to, as he doesn't want to hurt them when he, inevitably, dies. Of course, no one knows this, so they tend to find him nice and polite, but rather standoff-ish. Despite this, he makes sure to never be rude, not having a cross word to share with anyone. He is soft spoken and polite, carefully choosing his words so as not to offend anyone. Therefore, someone would be quite shocked if they were to find his journal, as that's where he lets loose with how he feels about people.
Although he'd never admit, Ahlanour desperately wants a family. He wants to be loved, and to love in return. And he would make a good partner; he would do anything for someone he cared for. You would be hard pressed to find someone more loyal than him; he would give you the clothes off of his back if you only asked. He is also quick to help, and tends to keep a cool head when doing so. Ahlanour isn't known for fleeting feelings or wild dreams. His childhood formed him, shaping him into a teenager who is all too aware of his own morality. Forever a realist.

HISTORY:
For the most part, Ahlanour has had a very normal life. He was born to a pair of Crafters, a Glassworker and a Metal worker, in Benden. His parents began to teach him their crafts as soon as they could, even if it was only the names of the tools and techniques. Almost instantly, he took to glassworking, not showing as much attention to metalworking. His father taught him to cook, and he very much enjoyed it.
At thirteen, he became an outcast amongst the other children. He caught the leader of the children harassing some girls, and stepped in, being viciously beaten. To his shock, he discovered he enjoyed protecting others, and so began to become a protector of sorts, defending others in the Hold who, for some reason, couldn't defend themselves. At sixteen, he was viciously beaten by the boy and his friends. His leg was broken, rather badly. While he was convalescing, which took a rather long time as it was near impossible to keep him off of his feet, he withdrew into himself, working in the forge where he could set up his supplies around him, or helping in the kitchen. Almost all of his time was spent working with glass, and making things, or cooking otherwise. Once he was healed enough to walk around, however, the routine had become so ingrained in him that it simply stuck, turning him into a recluse of sorts.
At eighteen, he was Searched. At first, he wasn't certain. After all, he'd spent his whole live in Benden, and he loved doing his Glasswork. But, perhaps, it would be a good thing? Sure, he wouldn't be able to spend the entirety of his day in his forge. But if he recalled correctly, Candidates were given time during the day to work on their Crafts. And, who was to say he couldn't do glasswork in his spare time, if he had any? And maybe he would get new ideas for him to craft. So, finally, he decided to go. And, if he never Impressed, he could always go back home and finish his studies under his Mother.
