Sum of all, and by them, driven
To conquer every mountain shown
But I've never crossed the river"

FULL APPEARANCE: A woman of tanned skin and dark hair, K'rou is not especially noteworthy. Her hair, worn just past the shoulders, has a slight wave to it, and is a dark brown in hue, the same color as her dark eyes. She is about 6', with a relatively lean but certainly muscular build. K'rou can be described as "excessively armed," as she carries more than just a single belt knife on her person. One must be prepared, after all, for anything--and she certainly doesn't trust others.
Her face is relatively plain, but with a sharp, severe, and even intimidating look to it. There is something almost predatory, her eyes glinting in a way reminiscent of a hawk or wolf. That said, her expression is mostly blank and neutral, though it does betray emotion when she feels overwhelmed by it--rare as that may be.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: K'rou is traditional: dragon ranks exist for a reason, and she strongly believes in the "natural order" of things. Exceptionally lawful and concrete in her black-and-white worldview, K'rou tends to view those who deviate with disdain. Despite only being a bluerider, she accepts what she sees as her role, and knows her place--as should you. That said, K'rou follows orders well, and will do as she's told or follow whoever she must, even though/if her wingleader is but a blue/green rider. That said, she is surprisingly protective of her Weyr, as well as the select few who manage to gain her loyalty. In fact, she can be exceptionally loyal to a cause, often without thinking critically about it, and as a result, she will stand by any decision her Weyr makes.
Slow to open up and slower to trust, K'rou knows she can't rely on anyone but herself, and often expects others to turn on her. Everything is a threat, be it thread or her wingmate, but she does what she needs to, despite her mistrust. Despite her stubborn rigidity, K'rou is hardly a passionate or opinionated person. Chilly and impersonal, she does not speak much on herself, and does not form opinions easily. She believes in what people tell her to believe in, and does as she's expected, in every manner of life. Despite her concrete and overly literal understanding of the world, she can be sarcastic, usually in a disdainful, condescending, or insulting way.
She excels at practical, quick thinking and decisive action, but struggles with abstract or philosophical thinking. What is right is right, and when her worldview is challenged, she gets confused and frustrated, often verbally lashing out, especially when she feels cornered. K'rou has a bit of a temper, but she manages to control herself, beyond scathing remarks and cruel comments. She seems humorless, and prefers to stay strictly to the point and on-subject. Duty is important; laughter is not, and a waste of time.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
-Father: Finoun
-Mother: Karnassi
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: (optional)
BIRTHPLACE: High Reaches Weyr
HISTORY:
TW: Family issues
Karou was an accidental pregnancy. She was raised in the creche, without any family to speak of. Karou was an odd child, and made few friends. A bit too serious, a bit too intense...and generally uninterested in the idea of friendships. That said, she did find a mentor in a wherhandler, and begged him to let her learn under him. He taught her to fight, and she hoped to become a wherhandler like him, before realizing that this was frowned upon at High Reaches.
At 15, she understood Golre's expectations. She was loyal, and knew that her place would be as a lowly greenrider to uphold Golre's rule. Still, as a dragon candidate, despite her internal wishes, she did not Impress immediately. She believed strongly in Golre's leadership, but detested the other candidates, due to their backstabbing, relentless, ruthless natures--as far as she saw them, at least.
At 19, she Impressed to a blue--Nonaryth. She accepted her lot in life almost eagerly, accepting that she would fulfill her duties as a mere, lowly bluerider. Nonaryth questioned this, but allowed his rider to view her rank as she did. Traditional, she accepted the poor treatment and internalized the belief that she and Nonaryth were lower and inferior, compared to most other dragons. They only outranked green and white, even if they would consider themselves above Unique mutations.
Her hatred of Fort only grew when Golre was killed by them two turns after her Impression, but she tried very hard to adjust to life without a commanding presence. Without Golre, without tradition, what was High Reaches Weyr? She believes strongly in tradition, other than females Impressing only female dragons, and grew uncomfortable with the new High Reaches. Still, she did her duties, both to Pern and to her Weyr, and worked hard to ensure a future for High Reaches, but did mention her views if asked.
At every donated clutch, she hoped for a gold, to lead High Reaches to return to its former glory.
