And there are certain things I lack
In the beginning, we were winning
But now I'm just making up facts"

If it's too hot, she'll make due in a dress or a cute blouse and some pants. She's lean, has pale skin, with brown eyes, and a rounder, oblong-shaped face. She has shoulder-length blonde hair that she keeps down off-duty and puts in a bun when on-duty. Her most defining feature is her nose, which is wide and slightly downturned.
She walks around with a spring in her step and a wide smile on her face. All in all, D'ot just looks plain ol' happy most of the time.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
D'ot has always tried her best to put out into the world the same kindness she wants to receive from it. She wants to be nice to everyone she can, and being there for a others in need is always her top priority. She is a friendly, outgoing woman who can talk your ear off if you let her. She has a very creative and imaginative mind and very likely would have been a good harper. She falls into new routines very quickly and does her best to be an upstanding member of the Weyr.
D'ot blindly trusts in people with her entire heart and believes that everyone must be good. This leads to her ignoring other peoples' flaws or displayed negativity, even in circumstances where doing so negatively impacts herself, and maybe that's why she's so gullible. She believes what other people say when they say it, why would they lie? She can't say no to people who need help, leading to her stretching herself thin trying to do what others ask of her. Sometimes she will simply assume others require help when they haven’t asked for it or clearly don’t need it. Due to her flawed understanding of others, this ‘help’ is often her inserting herself into other people’s business without their permission.
Her favorite thing to do is be in the air with her dragon. Drills, transporting things, Threadfall, it doesn't matter. As long as shes in the air, everything is going great for D'ot.

SIGNIFICANT OTHER: It's a long story
BIRTHPLACE: Ista Weyr
HISTORY:
Dorothea was born at Ista. She was raised in the creche and never learned who her parents were. That never bothered her too much, they were obviously busy rider folks who didn't have time to raise kids when they were protecting the Weyr, just like many other riders. Her childhood flew by without any incidents, and she grew up hearing stories about riders protecting their Weyrs. All those stories led to her becoming a candidate the second she turned 15.
She was very proud of herself when she impressed to a green at her first hatching. Mystreth was not what came to mind when Dorothea, now D'ot, thought about an average green dragon. For starters, the average green was female, and Mystreth was adamant that he was not. She believed him, of course, what reason would he have to lie? He would eventually be proven correct after he never rose and sired a non-parthonogenic clutch with a garnet turns later.
After graduation and a couple turns of dragonriding, D'ot hit it off with a rider in her wing. D'rew was this sweet bluerider who seemed like he could never hurt a fly, she fell in love with him instantly. Fast forward a few turns and they were weyrmates with a child, Theandre. She tried to be in her son's life as much as possible, knowing that she would have appreciated it if her parents visited her when she was younger.
What started off as a happy relationship eventually turned sour. With D'ot spending all her time either working, training, or visiting Theandre, the only time she spent with D'rew was either when they were working with the rest of their wing or late at night in bed when she was too tired to have any big conversations. D'rew didn't make any great effort to express his unhappiness. He would just be moody and grumpy towards her, and she just thought he was just tired. D'ot thought that them talking nonsense until they fell asleep was good enough to make him happy. It made her happy. They were busy people with busy, important jobs, they couldn't be together all the time, she knew that. She just thought that he knew that too.
D'ot was heartbroken when she found out that what she thought was enough, simply, was not. D'rew had begun cheating on her with some lady she barely even knew. They split soon after her discovery. It left a horrible feeling that dragged her down just by virtue being in the same Weyr as the two of them. She needed to leave, it didn't matter where she left to, she just had to leave.
After asking Theandre if he'd like to come with her, D'ot took herself and son to High Reaches. A fresh start. It was like a weight had lifted off of her shoulders. Her typically happier mood kicked back in, and she swore that she would start putting out the same kind of energy into the world that she wanted to receive. If she could be helpful, she would be helpful. If she could be kind, she would be kind.
She's become very fond of High Reaches after being there for a little while. She enjoys the way that they have structured their political system and is eagerly waiting to see the results of the upcoming election.
