FULL APPEARANCE:
Ochako is quite short, with an otherwise average figure. Fair-skinned with no notable scars, her brown eyes are a bit on the large side, giving her a lightly more youthful appearance. Her similarly brown hair is kept short, at about the shoulders. Sometimes it is worn styled up in a small tail. Despite her dragon's colour being green, she prefers to wear pale reds and pinks, with an overall desire for looser-fitting garments.

Quite laid back, Ochako can be very bubbly and almost an airhead at times, with a habit of being very blunt without realizing it. Her reactions to things tend to be rather exaggerated, speaking with her hands or wild body gestures. She has a habit of being amused by certain personality traits and quirks that others have, going so far as to burst into laughter at times (which can be seen as quite rude). She is very warm and lively and tends to think of the glass as half full at all times, though does have the capacity to see virtues and flaws in others. She's quite good at reading people, and very empathetic. She admires strength and compassion in others.
This empathy extends to even those she views as opponents or enemies, making it oftentimes difficult for her to truly oppose them. She can also be, despite her typically bubbly personality, rather intimidating when competition comes into play. She's fiercely competitive, even if her empathy gets in the way more often than not. She dislikes being underestimated.
Coming from a poor cothold, Ochako tends to overreact to little things, especially anything considered luxury. She sends most of her earnings as a Rider to her parents so they can grow and improve their cothold.

HISTORY:
Young Ochako hails from a small and quite poor cothold beholden to Ista, where she was raised by her mother, father, and extended family. Inheriting poor land, the family struggled to make tithe, which Ochako was well aware of even as a child. Although she wanted for little in the way of care or affection, she knew nothing of wealth or excess.
Just after her fifteenth nameday she was Searched. Although initially reluctant to accept, her parents were quick to push her to accept the honour of being a rider and carving her own path. Ochako ultimately accepted because she knew if she Impressed she would be able to send funds to her parents, and make them proud. As fate would have it, she bonded at her first Hatching, the very last dragonet to hatch--a small green named Uravith. Ecstatic for her new union, she wrote home to her parents--completely forgetting that she had only learned to read and write once coming to the Weyr.
During Weyrling training, she grew particularly close with two other Weyrlings, Katsuki of Bronze Koteth and Eijirou of Garnet Shimath. When Eijirou approached her with his feelings, she was surprised, but acknowledged her reciprocation, the three of them agreeing to become weyrmates once their lessons had concluded.
Although life at Ista was well and good, she saw how Katsuki held conflict with his wingleaders, and when he opted to transfer to High Reaches, she arranged to follow him--and of course Eijirou.
