FULL APPEARANCE: Tenya is square shaped, from his prominent jawline to his spectacles. He's built like a runner, because that's what he trained as. Every piece and article of clothing is perfectly pressed, neatly laundered, and worn with great pride. That gets hard to do sometimes, because he's growing like a weed. Already tall for his age, Tenya works hard to uphold the expectations of his new rank, and it shows. He has to be prepared! To that end, he frequently carries a bag over one shoulder, usually filled with books that he's in the process of reading.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Tenya is the very definition of 'lawful lawful'. There's not a rule he doesn't know forwards and backwards. He tends to become teacher's pet, because he has a deep-seated need to ensure his peers follow the rules. This often makes him unpopular with his peers, because he's a teenage boy with a tendency to nag. He's well intentioned, but fairly tactless.

Conviction is, in fact, the name of the game. Tenya doesn't know how to reevaluate his beliefs without severe outside aid. He's earnest in his desire to help people, but he thinks the best way to do that is to follow the letter of the rules. If he ever learns flexibility, it will be a miracle.

This lack of flexibility is wonderfully illustrated in his tendency to chop the air with his hands. It's one of his most recognizable traits, and the one most often imitated when people want to refer to him. He doesn't mind, though. Rarely even recognizes that he's being mocked.

HISTORY:
Tenya came from a family of runners. It was a good life, and Tenya's older brother was one of the fastest and most reliable runners in the area. Tenya's highest aspirations were to be the best, because his brother was. Everything was perfect, until two things happened. One, Tensei was Searched for High Reaches Weyr. And two, Tenya's blurry vision saw him fitted for spectacles. Neither event spelled the end of the world, but it was an abrupt and upsetting change. As a creature of habit, Tenya was Not Pleased.

Still, Tenya was a dutiful son, and he did his best to make his parents proud. And proud they were when Tensei Impressed a fine brown, and again when Tenya was later Searched for an entirely new High Reaches. Tenya dedicated himself to his new station and learned the rules of the weyr as quickly as possible.

This is a tense time for Tenya, because Tensei was one of the casualties of the dreadful Threadfalls High Reaches has been facing. He wants to live up to his brother's legacy, but he's also in mourning. And with his adopted weyr in trouble, he wants to help in any way he can.

UPDATES

• Late Spring 2770 - Tenya is one of the candidates called to the Sands when two eggs mysteriously appear. The first to hatch is a white, who tears through a guard and three candidates before latching onto Tenya. This is the beginning of something very, very new.
  
• Late Spring 2770 - It turns out that Adorath and her brother were both stolen! Because there is not way to communicate with Fort Weyr the way things are, Tenya begins a journal of sorts where he records all of Adorath's most pressing questions that he cannot answer. After consulting with one of the older weyrlings, he titles it Adorath's Baby Book. He cannot do anything about the larger issues of the weyr, so he dedicates himself to becoming the best rider pair he and his white could be.
  
• Summer 2770 - Someone begins an unkind rumor about Tenya's older brother. Unsuspecting Tenya doesn't ever connect the beginning of the rumor with the belligerent girl he talks to on the fireheights. If he knew that the eggs came from her brother's dragon, he might have handled the situation differently. As it was, he is as defensive of Tensei's reputation in death as he was in life.
  
• Fall 2770 - Tenya's closet friend among the candidates Impresses at the donated clutch. Shouto, Izuku, and Tenya are finally all weyrlings together. Unfortunately, so is the girl Tenya argued with on the fireheights. Tenya does not go out of his way to engage her or her angry garnet.
  
• sometime before graduating - Adorath very definitively decides that she and Tenya are not joining the Healer's Wing, even though her brother and his rider are. She is a fighting dragon, and she must fight!
  
• Summer 2771 - Tenya and Adorath graduate from weyrling training just in time for the Council to shuffle the wings all over again. Instead of taking to the skies with Firestorm as had been their not-so-secret dream, they are shuttled into Starfall. Adorath thinks that's a little unfair.
  
• Spring 2773 - The mystery of the stolen eggs is finally solved when the angry garnet weyrling - now graduated to a rider - reveals wherhandler Majima's machinations. Communication between Fort and High Reaches is restored, and Tenya finally gets to answer some of Adorath's questions. They meet G'er and Neozeoth in neutral territory.
  
• Late Winter 2773 - Tenya Impresses the most obnoxiously bright pink garnet fire lizard this side of Pern. He gives her the innocuous name of 'Vanessa'

FULL APPEARANCE:

A large, muscular white, Adorath is a little warrior of a white. Well, little for dragons overall, but large for a white. She has wide wings, spread out like a very dramatic cape. Her face is arrow-shaped. She is a soft, ash-gray all over. Her markings, a darker cloudy gray, trace over her face like a tiara or a crown, and down her legs like gauntlets, armor, a regal showing of some royalty in her blood. She is radiant. The same dark color is over her wingsails, with intricate white-wing patterns on the insides of her wings.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Adorath is first and foremost a warrior. She is strategic, hardworking and responsible, giving her all to everything she does. Her talent and dedication will make her an excellent student and eventually a gifted threadfighter. She can also be a bit of a dork. She approaches everything with this same intensity and often needs reminding that not every afternoon sunning requires a fully planned battle strategy. She can be so single-minded that it may take her some extra time to learn what ordinary things like "canines" or "games" are but she'll marvel in the novelty if someone takes the time to introduce her to the wonderful things she has missed. She has high expectations of herself and reacts very badly to failure, blaming herself even for things outside her control.

Adorath isn’t always sure of exactly where she fits. From the day she learns her egg wasn't laid at High Reaches, Adorath will have questions about where she's really from and what that means for the dragon she needs to become. She'll still badly want to do the right thing for the weyr she calls home. Unfortunately, it's not always easy for Adorath to recognize what the right thing is. She's a prime target for manipulation, although with the help of her rider, she might eventually catch on. Adorath is very close to her brother, Carth. She wants to see the pair of them become the best they can be together and believes there’s a lot of good in him. She doesn’t always understand, though, how things look different through his eyes. Adorath’s rider is her best friend and she badly wants to be a good partner to them. She’s dedicated to keeping them safe and hopes they can work together to make Pern a better place.

Details: Adorath's egg was one of the two stolen from Fort Weyr's hatching sands. As such, she was confused and scared when she hit the ground, and tore through a guard and two candidates before she latched onto Tenya as a bastion of security.
Why: Because the dice said so. Adorath sees in Tenya a bastion of decency in a place that is new and frightening.

Bold. Bright. Loud. Obnoxious? Truly Pern has never seen such a brightly colored individual before, and if they're lucky, they never will again. Vanessa is a perfectly average garnet in every way except one - she is a bright, obnoxious pink. She has no markings to distract from her very vivid hide. The less charitable might say that she's so bright she could glow in the dark

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Despite her bold coloring, Vanessa is not an outgoing individual. She's reserved and stately, much happier running a perimeter check with Adorath than being the center of attention. With more experience, she'll be an effective mother-figure. Until she figure that out, though, she'll nag. Just like Tenya.
