FULL APPEARANCE: With a mess of spiky hair, sharp brown eyes, and a leanly muscled build, there’s something about Blue that seems… wild. Like he’s not quite fully contained. Everything from his mannerisms to his voice is sharp, biting, and has the potential to hurt if the person is sensitive enough. He carries himself with a great deal of pride, and seeing him anything less than straight-backed and confident is rare. He’s also someone with a great deal of confidence in his looks overall, and takes pains to ensure that he looks good and stays clean.
He utterly refuses to wear the color that is his namesake, most times, and prefers black and dark grey to anything Blue. Red is also out, though green is fine enough for him to wear on rare occasions.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Blue is a very arrogant person, and to those who don’t know him well he can come across as a bit of an attention whore. He loves it when people notice him and basks in any and all praise he receives, but this has a bit of a deeper reason than simply wanting to always be the center of attention. Due to slight neglect from his guardian growing up, he simply wants to make people see him. If that makes him come across as rude and too big for his britches? So be it. But he simply wants to be acknowledged, in any way he can get it.
Behind the cocky exterior, Blue is actually quite soft when he wants to be. He loves Prarirth and his older sister more than anything, and would do anything for them as well. He’s very fond of physical contact, and while he wouldn’t be caught dead being soft about it in public will often snuggle up to his beloved dragon in moments of downtime. He’s pretty handsy with his friends, and is known for flopping dramatically onto people whenever something mildly offensive is said.
Blue is also an excellent judge of potential, and isn’t afraid to say his opinions on what he thinks others might amount to. While he can’t tell if people have the potential to impress, he’s a good judge about potential in other areas.

HISTORY: Having been but a child when his parents passed, Blue grew up in the Weyr as a weyrbrat, and only rarely saw his family with the exception of his sister. He was too young to remember his parents, only really knowing his grandfather and older sister growing up. His grandfather was a rare sight, having taken the deaths hard and deciding to focus in on being a rider more than ever as a means of coping. After all, Blue and Daisy looked far too much like their parents- a reminder of what he had lost.
It was during this time that Blue met Red and Leaf. At first, it was a bit silly- after all, two children named after colors, and a third named Leaf? Nobody could quite believe it at first. The three of them were all inseparable from the moment they met each other, running around and getting up to mischief as a tiny trio of terrors.
And then, not long after that, his grandfather’s visits had become more frequent. He’d taken a liking to Red, and supported the boy in ways that tended to make Blue unfathomably jealous, after all, why would his grandfather never support him? His child self didn’t understand this, eventually lashing out at Red and Leaf both. This, in turn, cracked their friendship, Leaf and Red simply withdrawing from his life.
It wasn’t entirely broken- all three still had affection for each other, but they were angry, and that led to many fights over the years. Finally, when they were 15, this culminated into a full-blown rivalry when all three declared their intent to sign up for candidacy. Blue, still jealous and angry, wanted to be better than Red so his grandfather would acknowledge him, and Red was swept into it with a startling intensity. Leaf, not to be outdone, declared she’d impress before both boys and joined in on their own strange ways of competing.
It was Red who impressed first among them, only 16. Blue was furious when he found out, to say the least. This led to yet another full-blown argument, and another full year of not talking to Red, or Leaf. This only changed when he managed to impress Prarirth the next year, and then the rivalry was back in full swing. The biggest surprise was finding out Prarirth preferred female pronouns, though Blue never made the mistake of calling her anything other than female. Even as a hatchling she’d been bitey.
Anything Red had done in his first year as a Weyrling, Blue would do better, faster. Anytime Blue saw Red, he’d taunt him about how much better he was. They competed over the dumbest things, and by the time they’d all graduated (Leaf having impressed around the same time as Blue) all three were in on the fierce rivalry. Leaf and Red were still friends, of course, but that didn’t mean they were going to stop competing.
However, there was one thing that drove Blue away when they were 22. Samuel had finally noticed just how bitter his grandson was, and proceeded to ream him out in front of the entire Weyr, even going so far as to say he didn’t care for Prarirth with the way he was acting. That same night, Blue requested a transfer, and soon enough he was off to High Reaches and away from everyone he’d ever known. He hadn’t even bothered saying goodbye to Red or Leaf, and only briefly consulted Daisy.
Upon making it to HR, he was scooped up for the Moonshot Wing, where he was finally free of Red and his way of making Blue feel like a forsking idiot. Over the next turn, he began ingratiating himself into the Weyr, and even ended up becoming a searchrider.
