A man of rather average appearance, he doesn't consider himself particularly noteworthy. His eyes and short hair are both brown, and he has pale skin. Several scars criss-cross his body, though there is nothing notably disfiguring. Mostly scars from childhood and weyrling training, especially once his rivalry with Blue began. He doesn't care much about his appearance, as long as he's clean.
Clothing-wise, he prefers casual outfits rather than ornate ones, in common shades. He'll wear red and black and blues without a problem.

PERSONALITY:
Though well-meaning, warm-hearted, and polite, Red is also somewhat of a klutz. He's definitely not to be trusted with anything delicate or fragile. As a child he could be rather cowardly when it came to confrontation, but his time as a rider has caused him to become far more courageous, allowing him to stand up for what he believes is right--even if those around him disagree. He learns quickly from mistakes, adapting to new situations with sometimes-surprising speed. Always a hard worker and quite stubborn to boot, he is usually able to accomplish any task he sets his mind to.
He has a strong sense of adventure, but can be rather reckless and definitely has the scars to prove it. He's not very good at being humble, which can make him difficult to be around. While not outright arrogant, he can be a bit of a pain to deal with. As a person, Red isn't incredibly social, preferring to be more of a wallflower, which can make him seem antisocial. This is not exactly the case; he does talk and can talk plenty when push comes to shove, but he prefers to let others say their piece before contributing his own. He has no issue with conversation, he's just perhaps overly-polite at times.

Red was born to a pair of riders at Igen. As soon as he was weaned, he was given to the creche. He wasn't familiar with his parents at all, but had plenty of attention and found family in the other children and adults in the creche. He even became good friends with a boy named Blue and a girl named Leaf. They were great friends for a long while, causing all sorts of trouble and having all sorts of adventures, until Blue's grandfather began to pay particular attention to Red. He wasn't sure why the old rider was giving him so much attention, but the new bond quickly created a rift between himself and Blue, who began to lash out at Red and their friend Leaf. Although Red was still sort-of-friends with Blue and held deep-rooted affection for him, things were a bit strained to say the least.
At fifteen, Red decided to sign up for Candidacy, spurring a new, intense rivalry between himself, Blue, and Leaf. While Leaf declared she would Impress first, it was ultimately Red who bonded before the others--to a young blue dragonet named Hitokageth. Things were initially strained with Hitokageth at first, the blue's laid-back personality clashing with Red's adventurous one. As Weyrlings they excelled, though anything they had done as Weyrlings was outpaced by Blue once the other bonded a Turn later.
Once the trio were fully-fledged riders, their childish competitions continued, though in much more laid-back fashion than they had previously. It went from fighting over who would Impress first to who would get to drills before the other, or who might finish their meal first. Nothing serious and just in good fun.
At twenty-two, Red woke one day to find that Blue had transferred without warning--without even saying goodbye. It wasn't hard to put the pieces together, not after Blue had been publicly humiliated by his grandfather. Despite missing his friend-and-childhood-rival and wanting to follow him, he didn't know where he went.
It took some time for him to track him down, but Red decided to give Blue some space before he decided to apply for transfer. Now settling into High Reaches, he looks forward to rekindling the friendly (to him) rivalry with Blue.
