Peryam is tall and thin, yet having a somewhat feminine figure. She tends to wear formal, elegant clothing, in mainly whites and pinks. Her skin is pale, with wavy auburn hair, that reaches her shoulders. She has wide, hazel eyes, and has a lot of expression in her face, often smiling. As well as this, she is very expressive in her body language.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Peryam is regal and elegant, often speaking in very formal, yet very dramatic terms. She tends to exaggerate and describe things in the most elaborate way possible - sometimes even going so far as to twist the truth. Despite this, she takes life very seriously, believing there is always work to be done, a duty to be performed. She is a hard worker, and very ambitious; she will try anything to get what she wants. She is focused, having good intellect and good organisational and planning skills. She believes her leadership skills are strong, however, she has a strong desire for power, believing herself to simply be the best at what she can do; she is not modest at all, and is often vain, conceited or arrogant. She is confident, and has a strong will, being very level-headed - she can keep her cool if things start going south. However, Peryam has a sly streak a mile wide, and deep down, is very cunning and manipulative, having little regard for others' emotions. She always puts herself first, and she holds loyalty to very few people on a personal level, as she considers the needs of the greater good rather than the needs of the individual. She isn't always honest with everyone, but there is a chance that somebody could potentially get to a level where she is open, honest, and genuinely caring for another person, albeit a somewhat small one. As well as this, she is very stubborn, rarely accepting defeat or failure, and she never talks about her feelings, to anyone, and if she does, she isn't always honest about them.

Outwardly, Peryam is kind and charismatic. She is reasonable; willing to help anyone, listen to their problems, or give them advice. However, she is incredibly selfish, and she is not motivated to be kind so it makes others feel better, but so it reflects well on her. In fact, almost everything she does is motivated by her own personal desires, and she hides it well by being very polite, jovial and friendly to others. She is a person who knows what she wants, and knows that she can get it by being kind and respectable. That being said, she does genuinely have the Weyr's best interests in mind, and does not want to see anyone suffering. She prefers to have structure and routine in her life, and does not like having to stray from that routine. She has good analytical skills, and can easily see both sides of any situation. However, she tends to keep her own, personal opinions on anything to herself.

HISTORY
FAMILY:
- Parents: Uninvolved riders
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: (optional)
BIRTHPLACE: Fort Weyr
HISTORY:
Peryam was born to two riders at Fort Weyr; both of which were fairly uninvolved in her life, due to being born in the midst of the Interval War, and thus, she grew up in the creche - this didn't bother her, though. She got along well with the other children, not really having many issues with making friends, or interacting in general. All in all, her childhood was uneventful, for the most part. However, she got an interest in riding from a very young age - and thus, became a candidate as soon as she was able to, at age 15, in 2759.

For the most part, Peryam enjoyed candidacy. She was a hard worker, and liked the structure and routine that candidate duties gave to her. After all, she thought that if she could prove herself, well enough, a dragon would choose her. She knew what kind of dragon she wanted; hardworking, strong, and a potential leader. She really didn't want a lazy dragon, or one that was overly shy, or cowardly. Two turns into her candidacy, however, came Golre's final attack on Fort; the event that would eventually lead to her demise. Though the event threatened Fort Weyr greatly, Peryam did not let it cloud her judgement of High Reaches as a Weyr; after all, turns went by and news went around that High Reaches had greatly reformed from the Mad Gold's era. In fact, she greatly admired that High Reaches was able to right their wrongs fairly quickly, with the help of Fort.

Time went by, more hatchings, more dragons that passed by, and more political trouble at Fort Weyr. Peryam started to wonder why exactly Fort seemed to have so many shake-ups, from Benden attacking a Touching, to weyrlings getting poisoned, to Gold Nornth ordering her chasers to kill during her maiden flight - even if none of it directly affected her too much, still only being a candidate at the time. Nornth's clutch came along, and no Touching was had; thus, Peryam had no idea what was in any of those eggs. Fourteen eggs went by, most of them hesitating from the lack of Touching, having never met these people before; and then the final egg hatched a bronze. A bronze that immediately approached and impressed to her. A strong, firm, soldier of a bronze. She hadn't realised it until she'd impressed, but Apocryth was everything she wanted. Though he was tougher than most, she felt as though they were on a similar wavelength, deep down. She wouldn't be intimidated by him, and his strong presence.

Through her weyrlinghood, Peryam started to make plans for the future. Having impressed bronze of all things, her options opened up. She could be a leader, like she wanted - not that some Weyrs didn't allow chromatics into their ranks, but being a bronzerider, to many, was still special. She could be in charge of things. However, did she really want to do it here? Traditionalism in Fort Weyr was slowly rising, too, and traditionalists definitely had issues with women riding bronze. She had considered High Reaches as an option; a much more democratic society, one where she could definitely try her hand at running for a leadership position without having to rely on winning a flight - as well as this, High Reaches just seemed... less entrenched in drama, than Fort. Sure, High Reaches had its own issues, but she was unaware of the exact extent of them, having not lived there her entire life. She graduated in the summer of 2769, having extensive discussions with her dragon, considering not only her own desires, but how she could work to benefit the Weyr. A few months later, Serapheth was caught by Diyarth, ridden by a staunch traditionalist; and Peryam, as a female bronzerider, found this a good time to leave Fort behind and move to High Reaches.

Peryam enjoyed her time at High Reaches; she still enjoyed having that structure in her life. It wasn't long after she moved that High Reaches was accused of stealing a clutch from Fort, and thus ties were cut between the two Weyrs - meaning, she was here now, this was her new home. Not long after this, Aldoeith hatched. Though many people were upset with this, Peryam thought it would work out, in the end. The structure of the Weyr would not change, they would simply have a gold to provide clutches. Even though it was recently announced that Aldoeith would leave the Weyr after her flight, Peryam still thought having a gold wasn't necessarily bad. During this time, she realised that she liked High Reaches, a lot. Much more than she liked Fort. Thus, she decided she and her dragon would be staying here.

APOCRYTH
Image

BASICS

NAME: Apocryth
BIRTHDATE Late winter 2767
AGE: 6 as of Early Spring 2774

APPEARANCE
LENGTH: 55ft
HEIGHT: 14ft
WINGSPAN: 84ft
COLOR: Bronze
HEX CODE: #c0c0a6
FULL APPEARANCE: A stunning conqueror. Apocryth is large and strong, built solidly and notably more muscular than Veototh. He is larger too, with sharp teeth and a powerful form. He is a fighter through and through, and he will stand strong against any storm. He is a pale bronze all over, shining best in the light. There is a dark bronze mask over his face, with a lighter patch over his nose. A tarnished bronze "scar" mark crosses over his right eye and down the right side of his neck. Darker bronze markings cross over his forelegs and down his sides, like wide bands with mosaic accents. The insides of his wingsails are streaked with dark bronze, making them look like secondary wings. A darker color is over the backs of his wings.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Apocryth is a hardened warrior right out of the shell. He considers the pros and cons to major actions, but he approaches life like a military commander. His thought process must consider the good of the weyr at large, and how his actions will help or harm. He is very well-intentioned, with "his" people (see: the weyr) put first. That said, his anger will be terrifying. He has no problems fighting other dragons, harming humans, or showing the world his power. Strength through force, loyalty through power. There is no other way.

To his rider, Apocryth is less a friend and more of a fellow soldier. He thinks like a soldier, that things must be in order, things must be done a certain way. He needs to learn that the world does not live or die based on what he does or what he has failed to do, as failure carries a tremendous guilt in his heart. Apocryth has very little care or love for many others. Vaheoth may have his affection, but it is Varelsith who he is likely to spend hours with, the white and him operating on the same level.
