FULL APPEARANCE:
Magnius is very muscular, tall man who often has a sneer on his face. His body has a number of scars from his youth and before becoming a wher candidate. At least, that's what he tells people. His hair is very thick and long, often styled in thick red dreads that are tied up in a high ponytail. He prefers to wear shirts that do not have sleeves, as he loves to flaunt his muscles. He tends to wear darker colors as well.

To say Magnius can be brash and aggressive is an understatement. He is someone who is often hotheaded with a bit of a temper. While he used to be argumentive growing up, he does not tend to argue with those he works with, even if he can be hotheaded. He is very diligent when it comes to following orders and often follows them to a T. Give him an order and he'll do it quickly. He can also be quite loud when he's mad, often shouting at the top of his lungs. His aggressiveness can be a benefit, though. He is quite terrifying when in a bad mood and will often scowl at others during a good day.
Along with this, he is prideful about his appearance. He likes to flex and show off his arms, often wearing shirts without sleeves. He can be cocky at times towards younger wherhandlers, often boasting about fighting Thread and being prepared for anything.
He is not honestly a pleasant person to deal with, regardless of what mood he's in.

Magnius was born ten years after the start of the Interval War. His father was a dragonrider and was away from Igen Weyr a good amount of time. Because of this, Magnius did not know him much growing up. He was often busy helping to fight in the war. Admittedly, Magnius resented him for that, often snarking off to the older man when he was home.
To say he was a handful growing up would be an understatement. He was quite a bratty weyrbrat, often bullying smaller kids and getting into all sorts of trouble. His mother did her best to raise him, as she was not a dragonrider or a wherhandler, but he was even too much for her at times. Even as the war ended with Magnius being the age of fifteen, he was still rude for the most part.
However, as Thread returned, his father ended up suffering a fatal injury. His dragon's wing had been caught in thread and the resulting crash ended up killing both him and his dragon. Magnius felt.. sick to his stomach when he saw his body, but quickly resolved himself. He would be stronger than his father was and ensure he wouldn't die like he had. After all, he did not have strong feelings to his father. He was gone most of his life fighting in a war, so he never really got to bond with him. However, he stood by his mother's side, helping her grieve. Even if he had been a brat growing up, he still loved his mother.
As it approached the start of the 10th Pass, Magnius turned seventeen. He had decided in his youth he did not want to become a dragonrider and, thus, had decided to wait until he was seventeen to become a candidate. As soon as he turned seventeen, he became a whercandidate. He studied hard, seemingly focused on something other than being the biggest and strongest kid around. Perhaps this was a positive outlook in his life?
It would take three years before he would impress to Magniusk. In the fall of 2760, an egg was slid over to him and out popped out a cold-hearted wher. They seemed to be complete opposites, but they worked well together. As they studied for the next two years, Magnius's mother, who had been sick for a while, ended up passing away. The wherhandler, as he had just graduated when he heard the news, was heartbroken. She was the only reason why he had decided to stay in Igen. With that, he left the weyr, not telling anyone where he went.
The weyr he went to was High Reaches. Sure, the weyr had a lot of problems in the past, especially after the war with Golre doing raids on Fort, but she was gone now. He arrived shortly before Otohith hatched, impressing to a non-binary rider. He quickly got to work, working in the Windsong Squad. In this squad was a number of other wherhandlers he got along decently with. However, one of them, Majima, was admittedly strange. He rarely showed up for drills and most of his clothes looked old.
One day, after Magnius had been at the weyr for two years, a random person walked up to him and asked to meet with him in private. Magnius was, admittedly, curious and decided to meet with the other. To say he was shocked to learn Majima ran a criminal network was.. an understatement to say the least. He really did not appear anything other than a lazy wherhandler. After talking, Magnius would end up becoming an enforcer for the other man. After all, he needed someone who was intimidating, would follow orders and not ask questions. He fit all three of those to a T.
Eventually, a council was elected in the weyr, led by an ex-holder named Xander. For several turns, he was reelected before he wasn't elected. That was a bit surprising, as Magnius thought he was a decent leader, even if he had been framed for an assassination in the past. However, the weyr still did not have peace. The Junior Wherleader at the time, Schneizel, was almost assassinated. Magnius had to admit he was a bit annoyed. Were people trying to encroach on Majima's turf?
That wouldn't sit well to the other.
Along with this, in 2768, Telgar ended up donating a clutch that would hopefully contain a gold egg. It did not produce a gold, much to the relief to some of the weyr. Magnius was honestly indifferent. Igen had a gold dragon, but High Reaches could do what it wanted. It certainly seemed that they didn't want a gold dragon.
When the two eggs were brought to High Reaches in order to get Schneizel kicked from office, he was admittedly amused, especially with the results that came afterwards. Shortly after this, another gold clutch was brought to High Reaches, containing a gold dragon
Oh, he is going to enjoy what is coming forward for High Reaches, seeing as the hatching was enough to make the Senior Weyrleader go on a vacation.
