APPEARANCE
EYES: Dark brown
HAIR: tan/chestnut/light brown
HEIGHT AND BUILD: 5’3” tall, uh.. slender? Healthy slender? Guys, what am I supposed to call their build? Is it still technically ‘slender’, or is there a better word?
FULL APPEARANCE:
At 5’3” tall, Emogi is slightly shorter than their sister Myalla, but it almost seems as though there is twice as much energy packed inside them! Theirs is a very expressive face and body - Emogi is frequently quite physical in conversation; often gesturing lots with their hands and their really quite excellent, if occasionally overt, use of body language.
Emogi has dark chocolate brown eyes, often seen with a twinkly sparkle in them (Emogi is also very very good at the puppy-dog eyes expression XD), and a big smile often present on her mobile face. Their nose is average, and their skin is a lovely deep brown colour. Emogi has short (and-not-quite-shoulder-length) tan coloured light brown hair, which is quite curly/wavy. Emogi often leaves it free of hairties, so it tends to bounce around their face and shoulders a lot! Can be tied back whenever necessary though.
In the image, Emogi wears a lovely long-sleeved stylish blue dress. They always dress with style, no matter what! The dress has white embroidery patterns (zigzags and snowflakes on neck hem, simple mini dragon or firelizard designs on sleeve hems, both bordered in white lines). They also wear a wide blue neckband, probably made of lace or something like that, patterned with curly/spiral white embroidery designs similar to those on the hilt of their knife.
Speaking of knives.. Emogi is also frequently seen wearing their well-loved brown leather belt laden with all the usual odds and ends of everyday living, among them lovely-yet-practical treasures - their beltknife, which bore curly/spiral designs lovingly etched into its silver guard-bar (and its hilt well wrapped in softened leather strips for protected comfort) in its simple leather scabbard, and their pencils & notebook. The belt buckle’s gemstone is a black diamond from Ista. (The belt and the knife are among their most prized possessions).
A pair of tough and sturdy fur lined boots & several other HR-weather-appropriate clothing (including items such as fur lined gloves, tunics and leggings, as well as a few of the usual special-occasions outfits) are also part of their wardrobe.
They can also sometimes be spotted with a random scroll or a Record or two in hand.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Emogi is a bit of a character.
Some days, she feels like a She, other days they feel like a They; as a feminine-presenting nonbinary person, Emogi is equally comfortable with either set of pronouns. Outgoing and bouncily friendly (most of the time!), Emogi is literate and is quite a dab hand at drawing, especially detailed drawings of all three kinds of dragonkin (dragons, whers and flits), and even likes to doodle cute smiley faces in her/their notes (and even on some of her/their messages too xD).
Emogi loves all dragonkin, and quite legitimately can’t decide (and tbh, doesn’t really want to) which bond they would most like to Impress, a dragon or a wher! (therefore Emogi would eventually end up choosing to Stand as a dual candidate, with their reasoning being the ultimate range of Impression possibilities open to them xD).
In stark contrast to her/their enthusiastic outgoing, friendly self, Emogi can and probably could go so far as to attempt to skewer you like a toothpick when they’re really mad. At their most intimidating, Emogi is very capable of holding someone at knifepoint - or literally just lifting the subject of her/their wrath by the shirtfront as she/they get right into their face! (Somehow they manage to appear quite threatening, despite their feminine appearance).
So essentially, an angry Emogi can occasionally get a little (or a lot, depending on situation) violent toward other people (or objects; knocking things over like a stereotypical cat, or just throwing stuff around in a rage, for example).
Basically Emogi is ‘larger than life’ in everything she/they do and feel, a character clearly capable of seemingly switching from one extreme to another in the blink of a eye.

HISTORY:
Born to wherhandler parents early in the summer of Turn 2751 - a few sevendays after they’d secretly escaped Golre’s iron rule of High Reaches Weyr - Emogi has lived her whole life within the borders of High Reaches. Later that same Turn her parents had arranged with a rider friend to have Myalla safely spirited away to Fort Weyr, which of course meant the two siblings had never really had any real contact with each other - to be fair, Myalla had the excuse of not having had any previous knowledge of her younger (and still-living!) sibling, since she believed that the rest of the family were deceased (according to the crèche workers) - but, however, Emogi knew all about Myalla (from many tales told about her from her parents from tidbits of news from the trader caravans) growing up.
Like Myalla, Emogi was too young to remember anything of the Interval War, nor, to be candid, much of a life free of Thread. Indeed, those kind of early memories were rather vague and really more focused on the marvellous worlds of fun and make believe that youngsters like her tended to create. Emogi was a delightful child during her childhood Turns, situated as she was with the refugee wherhandlers in a minor Hold somewhere in High Reaches with a relevantly drama-free upbringing. When she was nine, she heard about Myalla’s Impression, and subsequently became very excited at the notion of following in her elder sister’s footsteps to someday Impress a dragon or wher of her own. Emogi began to try her hand at drawing, a subject in which she was absorbed almost to the point of being oblivious to all else; a skill she slowly became very good at in her free time over the next few Turns.
At age 13, disaster struck Pern in the form of a severe plague. Fortunately, Emogi’s Hold was among those who managed to survive. Soon after, news about the discovery of the summerlands helped to boost morale among the survivors.
At 16, Emogi slowly works out that she is non-binary, and gradually begins to adopt the they/them pronouns, although Emogi still used the original she/her pronouns too. And happily, Emogi quickly finds herself feeling equally comfortable being referred to as either a She or a They by others around her.
On Emogi’s 19th Turnday, a dragonrider shows up on dragonback at the hold! They were promptly Searched (with the rider half surprised Emogi hadn’t been Searched earlier), and subsequently enters dual Candidacy at High Reaches Weyr.
Over the next Turn, Emogi learnt as much as possible in Candidacy, and at some point discovered to their delight that their sister Myalla was in the same Weyr. Perhaps the two might even finally meet?
