"And I feel it there
In the middle of the night
When the lights go out
But I'm still standing here."

FULL APPEARANCE:
Laoghaire is your stereotypical pretty blonde. Her skin is pale, her light blonde hair is long and reaches the middle of her back, and her eyes are a dark shade of blue. She's lean and lithe, and stands happily at 5'11". She has no freckles, no birthmarks, no beauty marks, nothing that really makes her stand out. She has one scar of note across the palm of her hand. It's from when she bonded to her wher, but she sliced a little too deep and it left a long scar on her hand from edge to edge.
Her most distinguishing feature is her smile. It is huge and brightens up her entire face. She loves to wear dresses all the time regardless of their practicality. It's at the point where she has certain dresses that she wears for certain parts of the Turn. Winter dresses, gather dresses, Summer dresses, and the like. They're all beautifully patterned.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Laoghaire is still figuring out who she wants to be in this world. She's one of those introverts who gives off an energetic, extroverted air, but she still replenishes her energy by being alone rather than being with others. She can easily engage with others around her in a charming way, and she can be quite sensitive to their feelings and motivations. However, too many people are too many people no matter which way you cut it. So, she will shy away when the amount of interaction required or the amount of people present gets too much. She is curious, imaginative, and passionate, with a drive to leave an impact on the world. How? She doesn't know yet, but she'll figure that out someday.
To say that Laoghaire should've been a harper is an understatement. The girl has an ability for music and art that she never capitalized on. So, while she does have talent, that talent has never been refined. She seeks uniqueness and individuality in both herself and in everything she does, so her creative mind shines through in this aspect. She does not consider herself to be special in any way and tries to remain a genuine and authentic individual.
She believes that she is deeply in tune with herself, and yet her self-esteem fluctuates like the tide. Self-doubt and insecurity plague her mind, and she never really feels 100% comfortable with herself. She struggles with managing her stress effectively and often feels like her emotions are beyond her control. Sometimes she wishes she had went through wher candidacy, as sometimes the responsibility of being a wherhandler overwhelms her, causing her emotions to spill over. Laoghaire has been trying to live up to a certain standard that she herself made all on her own. She needs to prove her worth as a wherhandler, seeking approval from others that she is pulling her weight.
She also has a mild fear of heights.

BIRTHPLACE: High Reaches Weyr
HISTORY:
Laoghaire was only 5 turns old when the mad golds fell, and has since been blessed with barely remembering their tyranny over High Reaches. As such, she remembers her childhood as nothing short of lovely. Her father was never around, but she knew that was just how life worked for the Pernese and thought nothing of it. Both her mother and grandmother spent a fair amount of their time as weyrfolk working in the creche, so Laoghaire got to see them both quite often. Upon her tenth turnday, Laoghaire got a flit egg as a present. The egg hatched to reveal a bronze, which she named Gilleasbuig.
For a long while, Laoghaire thought she would live out her life as a member of the weyrfolk. But, as she got older, she decided that she wanted to do something more with her life. Sure, weyrfolk were integral to the weyr (as much as dragonriders and wherhandlers didn't say so sometimes), but... well, she wanted to do more of the protecting than the cleaning and cooking. She wanted to become a dragonrider.
...And then she remembered that if she was a dragonrider, she'd have to fly high up in the air on dragonback. Yeah, no, that wasn't gonna happen. Laoghaire was scared of heights. So, when she turned 17, her grandmother, Glenna, helped the girl buy a wher egg. The egg cracked and split and a blue wher rolled out. Loask. Laoghaire bonded to it quickly and began her time as a wherling.
Wherlinghood flew by, it seemed. In some ways, she felt prepared. In others... not so much. She was 19 and a wherhandler. It was nerve-wracking for her, but she knew she needed to save face and act as if she was doing amazing. She's very happy to join Windsong, and hopes that she'll be a help and not a hindrance to them.
