FULL APPEARANCE:
Pran is a rather tall and slender man, all leg and not much else to really stand out. His final adult height stands at over six feet and his frame matches the height and his arms and legs have a bit of muscle on them. His hair is a rich darker brown and in the light, you can almost see hints of a darker red in it. He has let it grow out most of his life, though he will cut it if it gets past chest length. He often does not bother with it beyond tying it back in a lazy horsetail if he is doing drills, or any task where his hair would get in his way.
His eyes are a piercing green with flecks of brown in their depths though to see the brown in them, you would have to be standing pretty close to him. His eyebrows are very thick and bushy, earning him the nickname of "caterpillar brows" by his close friend Jeremy. His skintone is a soft tanned hue, a mix of his parents. He does not care about color in his wardrobe and often just wears whatever is available to him and fits his frame.

PERSONALITY:
Pran is hardly a people person. He very much prefers to fade into the background and not have attention called to himself when he can help it. He is a person to whom each thing he says is worth saying and small talk is not something he enjoys or engages in if he can help it. He also struggles to connect with others, often seeing the worst of everyone he meets, analyzing them often in an unfair light and then the choice avoidance begins. He also does not like a lot of background noise, be that words, singing or tapping on surfaces. These things often will prompt him to respond in a very annoyed and often scathing manner, with no regard for how the other person feels or what others might think of his behavior.
His ability to hold grudges can last years and its very rare he lets go of them. He is also notoriously stubborn, and doubles and sometimes even triples down if he feels he is right on something. This made him harder to deal with but not impossible and he does engage with lessons and such, and will work with others if he has to and knows when he impresses that he will have to work within a team and accepts that. That does not mean he has to be friends, after all, there is a job to be done and he is gonna do it and do it well.
While an unpleasant person on the surface, there are very few and far between moments and rare people that can get through the unpleasantness and actually befriend him. There currently is only one person from his childhood that he calls a friend and is one of those precious few that he opens up to be a bit more vulnerable to. To any others that may somehow be stubborn enough to endure him, they would find a very quiet and smart young man with a passion for learning and caring for those close to him, though he likely will not do that openly in public.

HISTORY:
Pran or Pranala as he was born, was born to a brown and green rider pair and given to the creche to raise. His childhood was not much different than other children within the creche. Early on in his childhood, it was clear he was a very shy child, not speaking much or reaching out to interact, often content to play by himself and he liked being outside, sleeping under trees and tuning out the world. Multiple attempts to socialize with his same age peers did not meet with much success until he was five years old and met another child named Jeremy. This child was a bit of a bully and their first conversation ended with the other child calling him "Caterpiller eyebrows".
This actually made Pran laugh a bit and that floored the would be bully for a moment. It was the start of a weird road to friendship over the years, both of them making the choice to become candidates together. However, this is where they diverged after a year of being roommates as candidates.
The first clutch they stood for, Jeremy impressed and Pran didn't. This left him feeling like his only real connection was slipping away from him. His anxiety over this caused him to shut down further, at the point of only speaking either when he was spoken to and felt he had to reply, or when he knew he was right about something and wanted to stand his ground, so to speak. He didn't really mesh well with others, even when he made the occasional effort. Despite his hopes, he had not even impressed by the time Jeremy graduated as a full rider and as he stood again and again, he started to think he might just not be meant for this life.
Jeremy, when he could, took notice of Pran starting to lose hope and had decided to transfer to High Reaches when his family had decided to move, taking their talents with them. Knowing Pran had no real tie to his own family that would prevent him from coming along, Jeremy talked him into transferring with him, thinking perhaps he might have a better chance to impress and a fresh start might do him some good. Pran decided to follow, letting himself believe Jeremy was not wrong, but he was even more withdrawn here as he settled into the candidate ranks, not making much effort to really befriend anyone, content to just keep to himself, it was quieter that way. A few years passed without any success but then the day finally came when he impressed. The manner of which.. was certainly memorable.
He had been standing for a few years before the Season of Plenty clutch was on the sands. There were a lot of eggs and during the hatching a bit of drama about some candidate and lying or something, Pran really did not care to involve himself in. But then the Warrior Night egg began to crack then exploded apart and a very vibrant and angry green hatched and launched herself at the candidate line. He fought the urge to flinch back, not wanting to draw too much attention to himself, as this dragon seemed very agitated. He watched her attack one candidate, leaving their robe torn and some damage to the female's leg.
She then charged towards another candidate near him and Pran for some reason felt the urge to move towards the dragonet, and before he could process what he was thinking, he picked her up, wiggling and teeth gnashing about. But something happened in that moment.. and he felt her calming in his arms and she pivoted her head towards him, her eyes shifting from an angry red hue to a green one and then a moment later.. rainbows. He blinked in confusion for a moment, not sure why he moved like that, interfering in what could have been an impression. But a voice, strong and deep, but clearly female resounded in his head.
" Ah, now there is the Pranala I wanted to see. We have wasted enough time here. I am hungry and there is work to be done. Now come before more eyes are upon us." The dragon, no.. Eksenath said and Pran nodded, placing the green down when he was certain she was not going to bite someone else. Looking to the candidate she bit and the other she likely frightened, he offered an apology and then left the sands to feed her. He was not sure what made him just.. move like he did but something had compelled him and he was glad, because now.. he had a dragon partner of his very own!
For the first few months of weyrlinghood, Pran and Eksenath tended to disagree a lot on things, such as his aversion to socializing and her tendency to dwell on mistakes she made. As time moves forward, there is potential in them to be a good pair or at least good enough to fit into their future wing enough to get things done.
Somehow along the way, Pran began to form a small attachment to another classmate Noct, which was surprising, given his personality. Somehow the other boy tolerated him, for whatever reason. As time rolled on, he and his green began to work a bit more smoothly together but there are personality clashes, bumps along the road but Pran is sure they will be fine. After all, she chose him for some reason, right?
