FULL APPEARANCE:
Lucine isn't exactly small, but the way she carries herself makes her seem smaller than she actually is. In reality, she's well built, frame lean but strong. Her desire to not stand out leads her to have rather defensive body language, Her black hair falls down just past her shoulders and hangs in her eyes. She likes that it's long enough to hide her face, and only really diligently tucks it behind her ears when she's focused on a task. Her eyes are deep green, and her eyelashes are long and dark.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Lucine is quiet. It was once attributed to a severe social anxiety and uncertainty about herself, but she has begun to grow out of that, unlike her quietness. It shouldn't be taken as ignorance of others or being easily distracted. She listens intently to people and dragons, more than she should at times, and observes. When she does speak, her voice is often soft and gentle. She's the perfect example of an introvert if there ever was one. She has few friends, but the ones she does have are very dear to her and she tries to do right by them. She does her best to be generous, though sometimes her anxiety gets in the way of her extending her generosity.
She has a good heart, but can be too willing to trust. She wants to trust after turns of being frightened to interact with many people. Though it can be hard with people who aren't outwardly kind, those who show her or others kindness get that too-willing trust. She hasn't learned that it can be dangerous to be too trusting yet. She doesn't realize how easy it is for manipulative people to put up a kind front. She's at risk of her kindness and naivety being taken advantage of and used against her.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
Leurona (mother)
Unnamed Father (deceased)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE:A small hold near High Reaches
HISTORY:
Lucine had a childhood almost constantly under her mother's watchful eye. She was a worried mother for several years, doting on her daughter until she was nearly ten. Lucine's prompting finally got her to relax a little, to let other hold members watch over her daughter so she didn't worry herself into the ground. Lucine was ecstatic. She loved her mother, but she didn't want to see her worry for no reason.
Lucine's searching came as a complete accident. She knew her mother had friends, though distant, who were riders. One just happened to drop in at the right time to say hi, en route to search some other holds in the area. The searchrider hadn't known Lucine was there, but was quick to spot her, eyes wide and curious at the sight of a dragon. Her mother had been surprised, worried even, when her friend had suggested candidacy for Lucine. But High Reaches was in better standing now... right? Her daughter would be fine. And she needed to be around more people her age, she needed friends.
Lucine hadn't wanted to be a candidate, hadn't wanted to leave her mother's side, but how could she deny her when she was so hopeful? Lucine hadn't been. She had all the worries in the world. Would the other Candidates like her? Tolerate her? Would a dragon really impress to her, or was it all a hopeless endeavor? Initially, she was cripplingly shy and anxious. She would just duck her head and hope no one spoke to her. When they did, she would freeze up like startled prey. A few friends did her wonders, and she slowly opened up and learned how to be social.
Now, she was excited to be a candidate. She had the chance to impress a dragon! She was important! And, if she didn't, well... that was okay too. If she didn't impress. she didn't plan to let it slow her down. She had other options, if candidacy didn't work out.
