PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
This guy is sassy! He has a snarky, somewhat sarcastic attitude that seems to come from arrogance. He is quite intelligent and often figures out problems in his head and quietly. He is a bit playful as well, mostly when he is around people he's comfortable with. However, regardless of how comfortable he is around you, he will still have his sarcastic attitude, albeit missing a bit of the snark.
He has a distrust towards bronze and gold dragons. This is resulted mostly from his uncle's influence and said uncle's own personal dislike towards bronze and gold riders as a result of living when Golre was the leader of High Reaches. They tend to get rude, off-handed comments from him when they are close to him. However, he is a coward as well, especially if someone confronts him for sassing them or making off-handed comments about them for their dragon. Usually, when this happens, he quickly flees. This has persisted ever since he was a kid, and was something he never grew out of when he entered candidacy.
He is also incredibly loyal. He will go out of his way to make those he cares for happy. This does make it easy for him to be guilt tripped into doing what others ask him to do.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
Kloitz: Father (Deceased)
Virginia: Mother (Deceased)
Kvar: Uncle
Raine: Older Sister
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: High Reaches Weyr
HISTORY:
Genis never got to know his parents. Kloitz had died during battle while his mother was carrying him. When she died during labor, he and his sister were taken in by their weyrfolk uncle.
The boy never really let it affect him that he never knew his parents. Raine had told him their father was a great man and he wanted to learn more about him as he got older. The uncle told him the same stories about his mother. Genis loved hearing more and more stories about them.
However, his uncle did not make his hatred of bronze and gold riders unknown. His brother-in-law and his sister had been treated horribly for them being a pair of greenriders. He made sure his niece and nephew knew his feelings perfectly well. This brought a growing distrust towards bronze and gold riders into the young boy's mind.
When he was five, Golre had declared war against Fort Weyr. He didn't really know much about it, just his uncle keeping a closer eye on him and his sister in case he ever needed to take them somewhere safer. However, the war only lasted for half of a year before Golre was killed and it ended. Now, new people Genis had never seen before were coming in and out of High Reaches.
Helping to reform the place after what Golre had done.
As Genis grew up, his uncle remarked how similar he was to his mother as he grew up. Virginia was a studious woman who enjoyed reading in her free time. Even though Genis was happy to play with other children, he preferred to read quietly to himself. His uncle also taught him how to cook, the young boy taking to it quickly.
His uncle was always talking about the news of the weyr and talking about what was going on, along with the changes. Genis loved listening to him speak and would often spend hours listening to him. His uncle would also tell stories about his father and his dragon, another set of stories he enjoyed. After that, High Reaches began to change for the better. However, even as the weyr was changing, he and his uncle still held their distrust towards bronze and gold riders.
Genis decided to enter candidacy at the age of fifteen. He wanted to help out during threadfall and learn as much as he could.
