FULL APPEARANCE: Although she is on the taller side for a cisgender woman, she is far from the tallest woman in the Weyr. She is lean and wiry, with a typical runner's build. She tends to prefer sleeveless shirts, at least during the summer, and prefers pants to skirts, with a generally more practical style, even when wearing gather clothing. Celia's skin is lightly tanned, with blue eyes and straight brown hair.
Tattooed on her forearm, a small brown dragon clutches an open scroll, with the name "T'niven" scrawled upon it. Other than the eyes, which are a soft, faded green-blue, the entire design uses the interplay of dark shades of brown ink and Celia's lighter skin. The dragon, the text, and the scroll's outline are all in the same monochromatic hue.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Celia likes to call herself strong-willed, a woman who isn't afraid to dig her heels in when something doesn't sit right with her. Others might call her contrary or difficult, but clearly, they're just wrong and mad about that fact. Certainly, Celia is more than a little stubborn, always thinking she's right and refusing to change her mind, no matter what. Celia is a spitfire woman, a force of nature, someone who refuses to be told 'no' or give in when she KNOWS she's right. And she's ALWAYS right, thank you very much. Her temper is quick to ignite and burns brightly, and her moods are often up and down, as if they change with the weather.
Although Celia does not rely on others, a fiercely independent woman, she tends to allow others to rely on her, instead. She can be surprisingly gentle when the situation calls for it, and even has a tendency to spoil children, firelizards, and animals. And Flaeth--she has quite a soft spot for C'ven's dragon. She knows when she can afford to be her bullheaded self, and when she needs to speak softly and soothingly. If someone needs it, she can do it, but otherwise she is a brash woman who talks too loudly and gives others a hard time. Additionally, she is far less forgiving with those who can handle her rough edges, even if she loves them. She enjoys bantering with others, especially her brother, and can be extremely snarky. This woman is extremely family oriented, and she WILL keep her family together, despite their father's death, Faranth help her.
Celia takes charge easily and often...mostly because she is bossy. She doesn't leave space for others, especially not when it comes to leading, and in any group task she WILL direct others, whether they want her to or not. Not that she's afraid to get her hands dirty and do some hard work! On the contrary--she always works hard to get a job done, putting her all into everything she attempts. Although she is a little sister, Celia is a caretaker at heart; she will protect you and make sure you take care of yourself, no matter what this entails. She is loyal, the kind of hard-headed individual to rush to your defense when someone insults you (usually with a clever insult of her own).
Although she hates being ignored more than anything, she can be a bit petty, and often gives others the silent treatment--very pointedly doing so--when annoyed with them.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
-Mother: Greenrider Celena
-
-Brother: C'ven of Green Flaeth [+4]
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: (optional)
BIRTHPLACE: Telgar Weyr
HISTORY: TW: Death
Although both of her parents were riders, Celia always felt extremely close to her family. She lived in the creche with her older brother, who she adored, especially as a little girl. While she'd always been a fierce, curious, and independent child, she grew into someone who was equal parts protective and fiery. Like her brother, she wanted to be a rider. Partially for the freedom, the skies, the glory, and partially because he wanted it for her. Most of all, it was to keep an eye on him. She knew, like no one else did, how vulnerable and anxious he was, and she knew she had to keep him safe and happy. She believed in him, believed he would become a rider, and so would she.
Telgar was a safe weyr to be at, with little drama. She became a candidate at 15, something she'd waited for, and was given a firelizard egg by her family around this time. At 16, her father was killed in threadfall, something that devastated the family. To make matters worse, a turn later, her brother disappeared. He transferred to High Reaches, but despite her demanding that he write, he never did. She wrote to him, of course, but even her letters grew less frequent, disheartened by his lack of response. She only had any idea of what was going on in his life secondhand--or rather, thirdhand--from her mother's contacts in High Reaches.
In 2770, at 18, she found a skilled artist and got a small tattoo to remember her father by. A memento, something she would never lose. Bringing her hand to the tattoo on her forearm, touching it gently...it would always bring her peace and help her relax.
In Summer 2772, a few weeks after Flaeth hatched, Celia's mother sat her down and informed her of what she'd discovered. C'ven was a dragonrider. Of course, Celia insisted that her mother not inform C'ven that they knew--let him tell them, or let him suffer the consequences. Celia gave her brother a few more weeks to write, to let them know, but he never did. Well, that only meant she'd have to knock some sense into him, make sure he wrote to his poor mother. Although their mother refused to come with her, Celia put in for a transfer to High Reaches. Celena insisted it wouldn't be easy for her to uproot, but she encouraged Celia to do so, as long as she made sure to write. Celia suspected it was reluctance to move to a weyr that had been her weyrmate's home, somewhere that was T'niven's--not hers.
Celia packed up everything, saying goodbye to her friends and mother, and moved to High Reaches, ready to resume candidacy at a new home. She wasn't able to move until the next season--Fall--but as soon as she was settled, she would go visit her brother. She'd give him a good talking to, that was for sure...
She is angry with C'ven, but not as angry as she would say she is.
