FULL APPEARANCE: Augustine looks like she wouldn't hurt a fly, and all of it is intentional. At 5'2", she is petite, and her body language is often very gentle and polite. She is often seen with a bright smile, and a very cutesy, girly dress sense - opting for dresses, and accessories, when possible. Her skin is on the lighter side, and moderately sun-kissed; with wide blue eyes and rosy cheeks. Her hair is long, blonde, and slightly wavy.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Augustine presents herself as a sweet, gentle, butter-wouldn't-melt kind of girl. She's confident, with a certain willingness to try new things - and on top of that, she's social and kind, always wanting to make new friends, get involved in any and all conversations going on around her. Yet, she's a master of hiding her true feelings behind a sweet smile and a barrage of compliments. To those to which she bonds to the point of feelings getting involved, she is very, very possessive; often leading to the uglier side of her, a streak of pure selfishness. Wanting everything her way, Augustine is definitely a jealous person, instantly holding a silent grudge against anyone and everyone who's got something (or someone) she wants. Fort the most part, she keeps it all inside, in an attempt to keep up the idea that she's just a nice girl - she is more subtle in acting on her jealousy, using manipulative tactics rather than direct confrontation. Though she is a person who lets her emotions rule all of her life choices, she prefers to bottle everything up inside and never tell anyone how she's feeling beyond I'm fine - for the most part her anger burns cold, stashing it all away for later, but often there comes a time when she explodes, letting out everything she's bottled up in pure fury.
Augustine is almost definitely a hopeless romantic. She believes in love at first sight, but, part of her feels, deeply, like she isn't good enough to find the one, having a fairly low self-esteem. Yet, she looks at those she adores with such blind admiration that she will never put them at fault, and always shifts the blame onto whoever else they've decided to fall for - and isn't above lying, or trying to turn people against them at her worst. Though she is intelligent, with good problem-solving skills, she doesn't ever think critically about her or others' actions. Her heart rules her mind, and she has no desire to change that. Even if she is pleasant on the surface, and will always be a caring friend, the majority of the empathy she shows to other people is fake. She is kind to people, but that kindness is born from a desire for people to like her, and support her. To those she dislikes, she is non-confrontational; she hates arguing, but she isn't above twisting the truth about people or situations to make herself seem like the victim.

As the only child born to her parents, Augustine was a bit of a spoiled child. She was doted on, to the point where they had a hard time not giving her what she wanted without her making a fuss. They tried their best, throughout her childhood, to teach her that she shouldn't act like that when she didn't get her way; yet, over time, she simply channeled her anger and jealousy in different ways. Instead of screaming and crying - which is what she thinks her parents were telling her not to do - she learned to be subtle, to be sly, to manipulate. This carried over to the other kids in the hold; every time she got into an argument, she would always make herself seem like the victim, always garnering sympathy. She had a few friends who often had her back, and she could rely on to support her. When she'd hit her teens, she'd learned to be sweet and gentle on the surface, and hold all her anger within, learning to use it in more subtle ways.
Her life, throughout her childhood and teenage years, was mostly uneventful - she hadn't been Searched quite yet, which also made her seethe, deep down. Why wasn't she good enough to be a dragonrider? It was at this age she started to grow tired of her parents, too, even if they were good, kind parents, she wanted to do things on her own. She was a teenager now - why wouldn't they just leave her alone? She wanted to go and explore the world, she felt as though she was old enough. But still, she kept up the act; she was a good, obedient child who did her chores and was polite to her elders, even if she did it all solely for praise and compliments.
In the summer of 2771, Augustine went to her hold's gather, not at all phased by the fact she'd been told of other holders visiting; her parents were nervous, but they knew their daughter would be on her best behaviour. Yet, by now, she was seventeen, she wanted to live a little - and that's when he caught her eye. Jace, the most beautiful man she'd ever seen; he was her age, but he was an heir, realistically she didn't have a chance - that didn't mean she wasn't going to try. She strode up to him, initiated conversation, which spiraled from there. He was kind, they danced, and they kissed. Her first love, and she felt her heart almost pound out of her chest every time she thought about him.
Autumn came, and her first love was soon followed by her first heartbreak, as Jace told her he had to go. There was another girl he wanted more. Bettina. She hadn't met this girl yet, but in her mind she'd already formulated an idea of her that was less than pleasant (and wholly inaccurate). To her, Jace had done nothing wrong, Bettina was the one at fault for stealing him away.
She'd turned eighteen, and even if her mind was still clouded by her lost love, she was Searched - finally, she was worthy of something. She could absolutely lord it over the girl she felt had wronged her if she got a dragon, but she'd be sweet and unassuming about it. She moved to the Weyr, but all was not fine just yet. The culture shock of candidacy was one thing - she'd do as she was told even if she resented it deep down, but not only was Jace there, Bettina was there. She'd smile, she'd be polite and civil. Even if her heart ached for him, even still - and meeting Bettina, she wasn't quite the wicked woman she'd assumed she was, but she still harboured ill feelings towards her. Yet, they weren't together, it seemed. Maybe she had a chance.
