FULL APPEARANCE:
Rody is a young man with mid length, spiky auburn hair. He keeps it tied back, save for a lock of hair not quite long enough to make it into a ponytail. This chunk of hair swoops right over his forehead. Rody's eyes are a light shade of gray, and he has long eyelashes. He's on the thin side, bordering on scrawny. He's not terribly weak, but he certainly isn't going to be lifting heavy things with ease any time soon.

In terms of clothing, Rody often wears tattered, patched hand-me-downs from his father and others at his hold. His family is by no means well off, and it shows in what he wears. Despite this, he does his best to look nice, and takes pride in his appearance and treasures what few nice clothes he owns. He's excellent at mending clothing, though the necessity of learning the craft, though his work isn't very pretty. One of his most treasured possessions is an old pair of riding goggles, acquired from a rider who was looking to replace them.

PERSONALITY:
Rody is, at first glance, an extremely carefree or 'go with the flow' individual. He takes very little seriously, and is content to go where life leads him. This, however, is a defense response after a lot of disappointments in his childhood. He's actually quite cynical. He doesn't believe life is fair, or dreams come true, and it's a viewpoint that has often soured his friendships. While he is content to simply let things happen, he's always expecting to be disappointed, and shuts himself off to a lot of new experiences because he doesn't want any more disappointment. It's a viewpoint that's lead him to trample on the optimism of others, and drive people away. Him keeping people at arm's length certainly didn't help either. When he allows himself to be passionate about something is when the true Rody shines through his crafted exterior.

Rody's first priority has, and always will be, his younger siblings. He's estranged from his father, but his brother and sister are his entire world. He'd do anything to ensure they have a good life, even if it's at his detriment. He'd work himself to the bone and then some for their happiness. His loyalty doesn't often extend past his family, but a select few friends receive the same consideration from him. Rody's good with his words, and can worm his way out of most tight spots, whether he got himself into them, or he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. That isn't to say he's terribly good at, say, lying. The more nervous he is, the worse he is at it.

HISTORY:
Rody's family was on the poorer side even before he was born, but the birth of him and his two siblings, as well as the death of his mother, made their situation a little harder. His father worked hard to support the four of them. Once Rody was old enough, he did everything he could to lighten the load some. Rody's family was his pride and joy, even if some days could be exhausting. At times, he resented the work. But he always reminded himself that his siblings deserved the world, and any amount of labor was worth their happiness.

Though he was proud of the work he did, he always dreamed of a more prosperous life growing up. Specifically, one that involved flying. He'd heard tales of dragon riders, seen the odd handful come and go from the hold, and it always awed him. After turning 15, he spent many a free moment daydreaming about the possibility, what he would do if his dream ever came to pass, though time passing muddled the excitement some. There was still a part of him that was hopeful he would one day be searched, but his main priority until then was the present day with his family.

Not long after he turned 17, in the beginning of the next spring, a rider did happen upon their little hold. It was startling, and amazing, He didn't dare hope that the dream he had let fall to the wayside would suddenly come true now, so when he was asked to come along, as a candidate, he almost couldn't believe it was actually happening. But presented with the opportunity... who was he to refuse? He accepted, with the promise to his family that he would write as often as possible, or visit if he could, and it was of to High Reaches he went.

He was present for the clutch donated by Telgar to hatch, though he didn't impress there. The next two eggs, stolen from Fort, also went to others, though Rody really didn't have any desire to be part of that mess. Several more clutches came and went, with High Reaches' latest gold choosing to leave for more opportune horizons, and Rody was left standing time and time again. He was disheartened, but the friends he had managed to make at HR kept his spirits up. He still had plenty of time, after all! he was still young. Aldoeith's clutch hatched and impressed, leaving him standing once again. But with another gold at HR, he had hopes that his time wouldn't be far off.

Why do you think these choice/s would be a good fit?: While impressing anything would be amazing for Rody, I think having a dragon he can call a friend would be the best for him. Someone who can start chipping away at that cynicism of his.

Pino's primary color is bright pink. On her wings are two stripes of purple in different shades. Her front legs sport the same two shades of purple in small stripes, and all four paws are a dark red. She's a small, but vibrant garnet firelizard.

PERSONALITY:
Pino is a very expressive firelizard, who feeds off Rody's emotions. His irritation can bleed into her, and she may become snappy. For the most part, though, she can be pretty shy, or even kind of sassy. She has her favorite people, and people she doesn't like, and she'll certainly let you know which category you fall into.
