FULL APPEARANCE: Pyeri is relatively short, at least by Pern standards. He is around 5'4", albeit with a strong-looking build. His build is on the leaner side, at least for his strength, but with definitively defined muscles. He is somewhat agile and quick as well, though he can't really withstand pain as well as one might guess. Pyeri prefers casual, practical clothing, particularly the sort that obscures his figure. While not exceptionally curvy, he does still maintain a relatively feminine form, after all. Pyeri has dark skin, relatively blemish-free, and medium-hue brown eyes. His mouth is usually twisted into a scowl, his brows usually furrowed in annoyance--at least, when not around his preferred people. His hair is black, tightly coiled, yet a bit uneven in places. He tends to wear it cropped relatively short.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Pyeri only cares about his "people," and frankly, the rest of the world can forsking burn for all he cares. He is relatively bitter and jaded, believing the world to be cold and unfeeling, with no belief in the good of everyday people. His people, however...they are good, and he must protect them at all costs. No matter what. Even if he has to sacrifice his own needs and desires, he will ensure they are safe. Mostly, this includes his family, but may extend to others, should he build any solid relationships. He is very family-oriented, specifically around his two siblings.
To those outside of his circle, he simply doesn't care. He is unfeeling, even apathetic, about the needs and desires of others. As long as Pyeri and his are safe and happy, why should he care if you're suffering? He is always on edge around these individuals, vigilant and ready to act if needed. He hasn't had to stab anyone ever, but that doesn't mean he is opposed to the possibility. And Pyeri does know how to use a knife, for that matter, so you'd better back off. He won't accept any slight, perceived or otherwise, to himself or his family--much less danger to them. He refuses to back down, and isn't afraid to get in altercations, if needed, be they physical or verbal.
He prioritizes his loved ones first and foremost, but after that, he's only out for himself. He has a sharp, fierce ambition, not out of any desire to make positive change, but to shape his world in a way that benefits himself and his loved ones. He dislikes how other leaders do it, and only feels comfortable when he is in control of his own life. He likes dragonkin and yearns to Impress one. In all that he does, he will persevere until he succeeds, no matter the cost, and will fight tooth and nail to get what he wants. He believes strongly in his abilities. Any attempts to rile him up with insults are likely to be effective. He is a fiercely determined individual, albeit a prideful one.
If he meets someone for the first time, chances are he will find them annoying. He tends to push others away, coming off as prickly and gruff. Around his loved ones, however, he will loosen up, maybe even joke around. Overall, however, he is a very serious type.

HISTORY: Pyeri was the second born to a large family in High Reaches Hold. He had dozens of cousins, sure, but it was his two siblings that he was closest to, growing up. He might bicker with them sometimes, but it would always be with love. They had a relatively uneventful childhood, with Pyeri and Pyeta looking out for their youngest sibling at all costs. A few remarkable illnesses or injuries, births or deaths, and other events marked their youth, but nothing extraordinarily so, or that left a mark on Pyeri. Pyeri was always an intense child, and perhaps a bit pessimistic. Nothing in particular had caused this glass-entirely-empty perspective, though every negative experience in Pyeri's life, no matter how minor, reinforced it. Pyeta tried to help Pyeri chill the forsk out, but was never really successful.
Pyeri always liked whers, finding himself fond of the hold watchwhers. He also looked to the sky with uncharacteristic excitement when a dragon flew overhead. He was wary of dragonkin, especially given the exaggerated tales that reached the hold about the more vicious dragons, but he couldn't help but admire their strength and prestige, if nothing else.
In 2774, just before winter, a mudslide destroyed the hold. Their home was destroyed. There was no chance to rebuild before the winter, with repairs beginning in the spring. As a result, the family temporarily relocated to High Reaches Weyr. Surprisingly, the siblings loved it there. Early on in their time at the Weyr, they were informed of their search potential. After discussing it amongst themselves, they decided to stay at the weyr as candidates, even after their extended family would return home.
