PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Nayru is definitely a diva, and fairly vain. Oh, she pretends that she isn't, but if people don't give her the due she thinks she deserves, she can get a bit sulky. She avoids direct conflict, preferring to be passive-aggressive about it instead. She's vain and doesn't feel like she should have to work for the things she thinks she deserves. That said, she does want to be liked, and can be easily cowed into working, especially if someone in authority gets involved. Nayru has a strong respect for hierarchies, feeling like without it things break down into chaos too easily. While she shows respect for all dragonriders, she reserves a special degree of it for metallic riders, as well as wingleaders and seconds. She believes that there is a correct way of doing things, and if anyone does not follow the 'correct' procedure, she will assume they were never taught it and try to educate them, regardless of how they feel. She has an unfortunate habit of generalizing more than she should.
Despite her shortcomings, Nayru can be quite sweet when she wants to be, even gracious and generous. She tends to be more reserved than her sisters, though she loves to laugh and joke right along with them. She'll often sing, and will not begrudge others with less trained voices joining in. She likes singing songs everyone knows, like learning songs and rounds, because she believes singing is best enjoyed when it is shared. She is quite ambitious, but likes to be seen as humble, and will downplay her achievements, but will pout about it if nobody seems to notice.
Nayru likes to think of herself as a leader, as someone others look up to, especially their sisters, regardless of that is actually how anyone sees her. She resents when one of her sisters gets a good idea before her, and will try to pretend it was her idea all along. Don't get her wrong, she loves her sisters, but as she is the eldest, she feels that she should be the leader, she should be the one with all the good ideas. That's the natural way of siblings, after all, right?
HISTORY

Father - Groose
Sister - Din (-2)
Sister - Fayore (-4)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: None currently
BIRTHPLACE: Harper Hall
HISTORY:
As the eldest daughter of a Master Harper, Nayru always took for granted that she'd become a Master Harper herself, rapidly rising through the ranks faster than anyone else on her own talent and mother's skill. But to her own frustration, she actually had to follow the same route as everyone else, had to put in the same amount of time and work. She put up with it, though, because clearly she was destined for greater things.
And then Din had to go and get aspirations to be a dragonrider, and then worse, actually be searched. Nayru had wanted to spend her Journeyman years with both sisters, wandering Pern and regaling everyone with the trio's remarkable talents, but Din had ruined that. It was lucky for Din that Nayru quickly realized in her absence that being a dragonrider Harper would be far more dashing, and put herself forward for being Searched the next turn. Especially with Fayore going too, Nayru wasn't going to be the only sister left sitting at home, practicing her scales endlessly while the other two went on marvelous adventures. She was their leader! How would they go on without her? And while their parents were clearly disappointed by the decision, well, it wasn't their life, was it? It wasn't like Nayru was ever going to stop singing, anyway, and there were plenty of riders who were Journeymen. She could make it work. One way, or another.
