Edalyn is a taller than average, thin woman. Her red hair is almost unruly and thick, going down to past her midback and with a few grey strands of hair. Her eyes are brown with a bit of a youthful flick in them. She tends to wear more warm-neutral colors, such as dull reds for her clothing. Due to her age, she has some crows feet and light bags under her eyes. She tends to stand up straight.

Edalyn tends to follow her own rules. She can be openly defiant to those in a higher position of power than her. She finds larger weyrs to be a pain due to their rules and thus, views Semaca Weyr as a place for her to relax and have fun. She will follow rules if she believes they are fitting or beneficial to her and aren't unnecessary. She has little respect for authority as well, mostly as she firmly believes that authority can cause too many problems. This can include openly arguing with them if she believes there is a problem. No thank you, that's why she chose to leave Ista Weyr. However, while she can be defiant in personality and open about her disagreements, she has no interest in breaking any rules.
She is also quite confident. She will often remark about how good she looks when she looks into a mirror and it seems this is a trait shared with her dragon.
However, she can also be fiercely protective of those she cares for and, even if she disagrees with some of the rules, will fight Thread with all of her ability to ensure these people are safe. If you're someone Edalyn cares for, she will even risk injury and her own life to ensure your safety.

Edalyn was born during the Interval War. Both of her parents were weyrfolks, having moved to the weyr shortly after Edalyn's older sister, Lilith, was born. Even at the start of her young childhood, she held an intense rivalry with her older sister. The two would compete over everything, but still maintained a good friendship with each other. However, Edalyn met Camilia around the age of five, the two becoming best friends. She encouraged Camilia to pursue becoming a healer when she was older, even if it meant the other would be too busy to spend time with her.
Around when Edalyn was five and Lilith seven, they attended a hatching by the gold dragon of the weyr, Glycinth, and a sire, Cabadath. As the dragons impressed to the next generation of riders, Edalyn found herself becoming excited. She decided right there and then that she wanted to become a dragonrider. She even managed to convince her older sister to decide to become a candidate as well, so the two would fly around with their dragons and protect their home.
Edalyn's candidacy was a short one. As she studied with her sister, who had become a candidate two years prior to Edalyn, there was a hatching. Edalyn felt.. something special after touching an egg at the hatching. She felt a protective aura coming from the egg. The egg, in question, did not impress to Edalyn, however. It had actually impressed to Lilith and Edalyn was happy for her sister. However, the final egg, a decent sized egg, hatched and a large white weyrling made their way to Edalyn. Lechuzath became a loyal friend to Edalyn, sharing a lot of her same views. As they came of age, the pair helped fight in the interval war, but Edalyn didn't like this.
Not at all.
Eventually, time came to where the war ended as Thread had returned. Lechuzath and Edalyn worked hard to help protect Ista Weyr from Thread, along with her sister and her dragon. It seemed that peace had finally returned to PERN, something Edalyn was happy about.
Until Golre declared war on Fort Weyr.
Ista Weyr had decided to remain on sides with Fort Weyr, but Edalyn was tired of it. She did not like the idea of Ista Weyr involving itself in other weyr's business. Even if Golre was truly a mad woman, it did not sit well with her. Because of this, she began to feel like she did not want to live in Ista Weyr. This was made even worse due to Ista Weyr meddling with other weyrs and their business. Along with this, when Kallia was poisoned, she felt resentment to Fort Weyr. Kallia and Imorith had not deserved that, as they had gone to help Fort.
She let these feelings bubble for a while, as she did not know what weyr would be best for her. She already decided she did not like Fort and High Reaches due to the war and Golre's attack on Fort. However, in the spring of 2765, Semaca Weyr was established. This felt like a breath of fresh air for Edalyn and she decided to travel there with the gold wher clutch Ista Weyr donated. Her negative feelings toward her old weyr continued to live on when she left, especially when she learned Ista had sent people to establish Negan as the weyrleader of Fort.
Semaca was a breath of fresh air to Edalyn and she decided that she enjoyed this place. She was quick to begin flying with her new wing and found herself truly enjoying the weyr. However, Semaca was not without it's own problems. When a donated clutch hatched, one of the dames, Gold Nuuth, rejected her children and attacked a number of Semacan dragons before she finally left. Edalyn was admittedly disgusted at the actions of Nuuth, but surely, this was the last of the trouble, correct?
After all, Nebulaeth had a healthy clutch with the same sire that Edalyn had watched the children of hatch when she was a child. She was honestly happy that Cabadath and his rider were still around, especially if they were now in Semaca Weyr.
However, then the flood happened.
Due to the storms, a lot of the weyr was damaged. The damage was severe as well, and some even believed they needed help from the northern weyrs. However, no help came and soon, Chopin Wing was created. Edalyn did not join the wing, but she did encourage them to do their best.
When the pirates arrived, Edalyn was actually very warm and welcoming to them. They lived their own lives and Edalyn admired that about them. However, they were not the only ones to come. When Camilia had heard about the flooding, she had decided to travel to Semaca to help where she could. Along with this, she brought her daughter, Luz.
Luz was excited to meet Edalyn, as she had heard a lot of stories of her and her mother's times together. Camilia was now a journeyman healer, having worked hard to achieve the rank. When Luz mentioned she was considering joining candidacy, Edalyn decided something.
She decided that if Luz did impress to a dragon, she would be happy to mentor her. Luz was like a niece to her and she would be happy to teach her friend's daughter.
