Jecell is a simple person, really. They're on the middling-short side, with round cheeks and large eyes giving them a somewhat more youthful appearance than others. They have chin-length red-orange hair with pale blue eyes and freckles across their whole body. There aren't any noticeable scars on their face or hands, but they do have a large Threadscore across their back which causes them some pain in their shoulders and arms on occasion, especially in the colder months.

Quiet and withdrawn, Jecell prefers the softer side of things. They'd rather their dragon do most of the talking, which Harlonth is happy to do on behalf of her rider. An optimist like their dragon, they're generally amiable and friendly, though terribly shy. Talking to others at length is stressful, and they need several hours to decompress afterward. This of course means they could never really hold any position of power, which suits them just fine. They're fine with going with the flow and minding their own business, which is a large reason why they chose to go to Semaca rather than stay at Ista.
They dislike confrontation and tend to submit rather than fight, even if they're the ones in the right in the situation. They're a pushover, easily, and can be roped into things they aren't entirely comfortable with doing just by peer-pressure alone, though luckily Harlonth is able to get them out of many situations before they become too particularly dire. As long as she knows about them, of course, but Jecell is very close with their dragon and rarely, if ever, closes off their connection or blocks things mentally from her. After all, a partner with whom one shares an unbreakable bond is only there to help, right?

Jecell was born to a pair of dragonriders at Ista. Like many other children born to riders, they were raised in the creche. After all, a rider's life is terribly busy and taking care of an infant out of the question, especially with Threadfall looming in the distance. Despite this, they were visited often and well tended to by their parents when possible and have a strong relationship with them whenever possible. They never wanted for anything and one could argue they were a bit spoiled, though their behavior never really became influenced by it. They didn't see themselves as above others in any way.
Not much of grand interest happened as they grew, at least not as far as they were concerned. As a child they were in and out of the infirmary for minor injuries, nothing major or disfiguring. They just liked to get into childlike mischief. As soon as they were able to pick up a craft, they chose to join the Weyr's beastcrafters. Just in case they happened to fail at Impression.
When they came of age to Stand, they of course jumped at the opportunity. Being from dragonrider parents certainly meant they were destined to Impress... eventually. Right? Probably. But as the Turns ticked onward, they were left Standing again and again. Disappointing. Luckily, at their seventeenth Turn, they were finally approached by a small green dragonet--their precious Harlonth. Despite her odd little teeth, Jecell loved her immediately and with their whole heart.
Weyrling training came and went easily, and the pair grew into fully fledged riders with no issues. Even their first few Threadfalls went without anything more than trivial as far as injuries. It wasn't until their twenty-fifth Turn that things would take a sudden turn. During Threadfall, a dragon blinked between above them to avoid a clump of Thread and, out of position due to a strong gust of wind, the pair were left vulnerable to it instead. Jecell took the brunt of it, and despite Harlonth's best efforts to get them between, they were still badly scored. Jecell required several months of recovery and rehabilitation, though Harlonth healed much more quickly from the more trivial injury she sustained.
After some further Turns together, the pair decided to transfer to Semaca.
