Blumiere is an elegant man, his hair is styled to a certain degree of style, he has a stubbly beard, and is all around quite handsome. He is fit, something closer to a runner’s physique than one of someone who performed more physically demanding tasks such as farming. His skin is pale in a porcelain fashion with distinctly cool undertones. He wears glasses as his eyesight is poor in his left eye.
A fan of the finer things in life, Blumiere enjoys clean, white, expensive-looking clothes. Be it long coats in the Winter to dress shirts in the Summer, Blumiere dresses to impress. He wears a red jewel necklace that once belonged to his father.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Despite his fancily intimidating, high class appearance, Blumiere is mostly anything but scary. He is kind, he is polite, he speaks in a way that commands respect without outright asking for it. He acts in a gentle manner and moves calmly. He treasures life and everything within it, believes that life is a gift given to us all and that we should make the best of it. Blumiere cares for people’s wellbeing, and he only wants what’s best for everyone, and sometimes that means letting himself get hurt so others can get out without a scratch. When he loves something, he loves it with his entire heart, the same as when he believes in something. He’s wise and intelligent beyond his years. All the time he spent studying with his father raised him to be a gentleman first before anything, intelligent, caring and chivalrous.
Despite his warm outside, within Blumiere is a sadness that crashes against him like waves. He doesn’t trust easy due to past experiences with someone he held in high regard, he only gives his trust to those who prove to him that they are worthy of it. His forgiveness for something major is something that must be earned over time, however, if it was a small mistake, he can easily pass it over. If you take his heart, which he'd give to you without a second thought, and crush it? He will never forgive you. Around people, he tries to be a ray of sunlight in a dark sky. But alone? He is sad. If someone pushes him to the point of no return in regards to anger, a point which is not so easily reached, Blumiere can turn into a vengeful, spiteful man who can act out in ways he wouldn't while in a clear state of mind. During this point, he ends up making rash decisions that he always ends up regretting later when he looks back on them and he always tries to make a point to apologize for his actions. He does have coping methods in place that he uses to keep his anger in check and never has an outburst without intense reason to have one, it is very rare to see him angry.
He also just has a really, really weird laugh. It's a dorky kind of cute laugh, but it is just really weird.
HISTORY
FAMILY: Blumar of Blue Blumsk (father, deceased), Mierea of Blue Blumeask (mother, alive)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: A hold a fair distance away from Benden
HISTORY:
Blumiere came from a family consisting of only his parents and himself, and his father was the only wherhandler in his hold. Because of this, he expected his son to bond to, and take care of, his precious wher when he grew old and passed away. Blumiere needed to be taught how to protect the hold, how to act, how to take care of someone that wasn't human, and he picked it up quite quickly. Blumiere found himself walking outside the hold often, taking the paths that would lead to other holds and turning back before he made any real headway. It was an easy way to clear his head from all his dad's lessons and lectures. One day, on a trip between the hold and the one nearest to him, he simply decided to just keep walking. On this walk, he found himself walking paths that he didn't know and had no experience with. He ended up falling down hard and breaking his leg. Luckily for him, a white wherhandler happened to be passing by.
Her name was Timpani, the wher was Timpask, and they were from the hold the paths lead to. Timpani was extraordinarily soft-hearted, gentle, and caring, and she brought Blumiere back to her home hold for three days until the healers set his leg and found him fit to bring back to his own hold. The whole time that he was stuck in the other hold, Timpani stayed by his side. They chatted, they laughed, they made good friends with each other and promised to stay in touch. A few years passed, Blu's leg healed, and the two couldn't seem to get enough of each other. They didn't bring it up with either of their parents, kept it hidden not out of necessity but just because Timpani never knew when to bring it up and Blu's father was incredibly strict about relationships. Neither of them wanted to tell their family or anyone they knew first because it'd get around their own hold quickly, so, if someone asked, it was just a walk outside the hold and nothing else. It got to the point between them where they seriously considered getting married. Blumiere couldn't have been happier than he was at that point in time. They told Timpani's parents, and they had a feeling that they were together the whole time and were thrilled that their daughter was getting tied down. They were lined up to tell Blumiere's parents. Everything seemed like it was going to go along perfectly. And then it didn't.
In telling Blumiere's parents, his father, Blumar, was furious that they hadn't told him and that they were going to get married without a single word. He outright refused that they were to be together because of the hiding of their relationship from him and he demanded that Timpani left. Blumiere, who had his father's temper but never found a reason to use it until that day, became equally furious. Anger turned into a shouting match, a shouting match about Timpani turned into a shouting match about any problem they had with the other, turned into Blumiere pushing his father to the floor and Timpani looking horrified. The couple went outside and had an argument of their own. She was afraid that she'd say something wrong or something that Blu didn't like and he'd yell and become aggressive as he did with his father. Blu knew that was a one-time thing only, but she was adamant on it. Everything kept falling apart, Timpani was afraid of his father, a little bit of him, one thing led to another, and Timpani left. Went back to her home hold, left for a Weyr, Blu didn't know. He didn't follow her. The day after she left, he packed his own bags and left for a Weyr.
He didn't know what to do with himself at High Reaches, but he tried his hardest to fit in. Picking up the Weyr culture came with time, and just walking around doing nothing drove him crazy. Golre wanted candidaes, so he began to stand as one. A year passed, he was twenty-five and on the sands and some egg cracked. What were the chances that a blue popped out and made a direct b-line towards him? Very high, it seemed. Seven years passed at High Reaches, he refound himself in being a dutiful member of the weyr. His treatmeant as a bluerider wasn't always the best, but he kept his head up nonetheless. Blumiere got a letter from his mother, his father had passed and, in Blumiere's absense, she had bonded to his father's wher. That was fine, he wasn't going back anyway. Whers were never suited for him.
He'd seen the mistreatment of colored riders under Golre reign, experienced it himself firsthand. Between wars and petty fights between Fort and High Reaches that wiped out whole wings left him terrified to be in such a place where lives were discarded left and right. While the change from such tyranny to democracy left him with some hope about the weyr, he was still scared to be there. Who knew if another gold would hatch and the whole Golre fiasco would happen again? He couldn't handle that. He left High Reaches after hearing of a new weyr's creation and didn't look back. Another two years and he was appointed wingleader of Semaca's Minuet wing, a position he made sure that he was worthy of holding.
