FULL APPEARANCE:
Standing at 5’6” tall, E’nome has the slightly broad yet fit figure of the motherly type.
Startling green eyes twinkle intelligently out of her friendly well-tanned and freckled expressive face, sitting beneath pale eyebrows and her headful of straw-coloured blond hair bound back into a long braid (with a small braided plait laid across her crown, and a few loose tendrils of hair dangling free from her temples). Her nose is delicate, yet straight and noble-looking, and whilst her lips were a tad bit too thin, the still-youthful mouth nonetheless still easily took on the many shapes of laughter, concern, love, sternness, and an myriad of other possible emotions.
She is frequently clothed in dark yet softly earthy colours; outfits of dark green tunics or dresses paired with a short lace-up brown leather vest and dragonrider leggings, as well as sturdy boots or tough gladiator-style sandals, are her go-to ‘uniform’ most days.
E’nome also owns the usual belt festooned with everyday items such as an knife and her pouches of marks and other bits and pieces, the entire thing invariably seen girdled atop her generous hips. A slightly faded and well-loved greyish-black cloak is also often found draped over her shoulders with its white star-shaped brooch clasped in front on the occasional cold day.
She has the shoulder knots of an blue rider (with elements clearly denoting her role as the Semacan Assistant Candidate Master) in an prominent place on her shoulder. Her ample body is quite fit and agile, slightly decorated with small scars and scrapes and tanned skin from Turns of dragonriding, and she often still has some forgotten dirt left beneath her fingernails from helping in the lovingly tended kitchen gardens. Her gentle callused hands are otherwise clean, if occasionally found with a few ink splatters or charcoal smudges from her assistant CM work.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
E’nome is a clever, strategic woman with her wits firmly about her. Hers is a witty, sharp tongue, and an quicksilver knowledgeable mind; she possesses some common sense and - despite her relative youth - wisdom gained through experience and hard-learnt lessons from past mistakes. She is gifted in the arts of strategy and battle - indeed, as a fighter, E’nome is absolutely deadly with a knife - and very capable of helping out the Candidate Master in her assistant CM role. As a teacher, well, she’s reasonably good, if a touch too forgiving of her students’ mistakes. Especially those of the younger generations.
E’nome finds it easy to willingly overlook most mistakes, as long as A) her students learns something from it, and therefore won’t make the mistake again (or y’know, learn to not be caught next time!) or B) they seem remorseful enough or seem to see the errors of their ways and try to change (or at least be brave enough to own up to their own mistakes or ask for help). Of course, some candidates being candidates, they may potentially figure out rather quickly that they can actually lie right to her face, or con/trick her into letting them get away with little to no punishments! E’nome is just not a very good lie detector, unfortunately. XD
E’nome has a soft spot for kids (as well as others younger than herself); it often being in her nature to behave in a kind and caring motherly fashion toward them.
When it comes to sparring lessons, however, that is a very important subject in which she will not willingly overlook any such mistakes with the candidates - after all, they need to know the basics of how to defend themselves! She knows the consequences of one wrong move; she is all too aware of how suddenly that move can become the difference between life and death. So she’s quite fiercely eagle-eyed and quick to correct - and swift to clearly teach the proper methods, as well as the sometimes dire consequences of any fighting error and how to survive them - in those classes whenever it’s her turn to teach them.
Unafraid to get her hands dirty, E’nome frequently likes hands-on work; the bluerider often being found busily tending to the kitchen gardens or cooking or some other task, or half-buried in the Records, writing, or busy with the many other requirements of her position, whenever she wasn’t out fighting Thread on Belleroth.
She can be a bit forgetful about maintaining absolute cleanliness, with all the work that needs to be done by everyone to keep the sadly understaffed Semaca Weyr ticking along - the young woman frequently showing up with half-forgotten dirt under her fingernails and charcoal-smudged or ink-spattered hands, or still wearing a slightly wrinkled tunic with her hair starting to frizzily escape her braid, for instance - though she does try to keep herself at least semi-clean most of the time. Her personal desk is often messily cluttered with piles of paperwork and numerous miscellaneous items scattered here and there - there is somehow a system to the madness, but it is still fairly difficult to immediately find the things she needs. Even more so when any well-meaning persons decides to neaten up in her absence, and suddenly E’nome needs to take longer to figure out where something is!
HISTORY
FAMILY:
- Mother (minor Lady Holder)
- Father (minor Lord Holder)
- siblings - not sure how many, but yeah.
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: open
BIRTHPLACE: a minor Hold somewhere in Telgar
HISTORY:
Born in Turn 2746 to Holder parents, E’nome (originally Eurynome) lived a pretty fairly ordinary childhood in her family’s Hold. Her minor Hold, somewhere near a big river in Telgar, was a pretty good place to grow up in, in her opinion. At the tender age of 8 Turns, the Interval War ended; and in that same Turn, the brightly pulsing Red Star heralded Thread’s return.
The Turns went by without many memorable occasions; then on her 15th Turnday, a surprised Eurynome found herself Searched by an Telgar rider, and was subsequently sent off to join her fellow candidates at Telgar Weyr. And then the very first dragon clutch she Stood for yielded the most marvellous event in her life - Impression!
Impressed to a blue dragon by the name of Belleroth, to be exact.
It was at this point that an impossibly happy Eurynome took on the new name of E’nome, and the two entered weyrlinghood together; eventually graduating among those at the top of their class the following Turn.
Then the great Plague of summer 2764 struck Pern. The young pair flew hither and thither as messengers, flying errands (and some medicines & a few other vital items) to several places (her family’s small Hold included), working almost to the point of exhaustion. Fortunately, they were among the survivors, the little Hold and most of Telgar Weyr included. Most of Pern was able to recover, particularly once news of the ‘summerlands’ reached their ears.
In her 18th Turn - and their second Turn as a bluepair - the Weyr in the South was officially recognised as Semaca Weyr. Eventually, once E’nome turned 20 in the Turn of 2767, she made the decision to transfer there, and so dutifully did the paperwork for the transfer to happen. And none too soon, because the very next Turn poor Semaca suffered severe flooding, and they found themselves among the helping hands needed for the young Weyr to rebuild.
At some point, E’nome realised her skills would be more useful and better utilised if she was in a position to teach, so she then approached the Semacan Candidate Master to humbly volunteer her services, if the older bluepair would have the younger bluepair as their assistant. E’nome was willing to learn, and determined to do whatever it took to ensure Semaca would prosper, and the candidates too, so they all could have a future down in the South - even with the finicky pirates and the danger of the inexplicably-getting-smarter spotties constantly nearby.
