PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Victor has a very intense need to learn, improve, and create. He wants to help further the Healer craft even if it kills him. He is quite intelligent, but will always attribute this not to natural talent, but the amount of effort he puts into both learning and his work. He has a curiosity and ambition that leads him into long stints of sleepless nights and many hours spent bent over a desk reading. He is reckless when it comes to his health, but not much else, and doesn't care if it is affected if it means he can keep going on with his work.
He tends to blow things out of proportion if they don't go the way he wants them to and can be heavily irrational. It's not a rare occurrence that he becomes extremely, extremely dramatic over the most minute of details. He craves validation from others as it is his main source of motivation, but he isn't the type to tell people that and just hopes that if he works hard enough, it'll be thrown his way.
Victor is having a hard time adjusting to non-Benden ideals, aka pretty staunch traditionalism because he grew up with it forever. He's more a fan of traditional leadership dynamics, weyrwomen and -leaders and the like. He misses it, the traditional way, but is aware that he just has to settle for modernity. Although, he is quite a fan of garnets and mutations from a scientific perspective.
HISTORY
FAMILY: Victen of Brown Steineth (father, deceased), Orina (mother, alive)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: Benden Weyr
HISTORY:
Victor had a good life in the creche at Benden Weyr. Born to a rider and a woman who worked in the creche, Victor saw his mother a considerable amount more than his father. Besides this, he enjoyed the amount of time he spent at Benden before he started to want more. He could follow down his father's path and be a rider, but the pursuit of being a healer called to him much more... well, only a little bit more. Of course, he was nothing if not a kid who had everything planned out in his head from the beginning, knowing that once he became a real healer, he would stand for a clutch and join the Healer's Wing. Not only would he make his father proud, but he'd get the best of both worlds. Validation and learning.
Victor soon left for Healer Hall, learning the tools of the trade and everything that came along with his future profession. He found himself enraptured with it and asked as many questions as possible whenever possible. This went on for a fair amount of time, and eventually, Victor became a Journeyman Healer at the crisp age of 21. His father had passed while he was at Healer Hall, and felt like he needed now more than ever to continue his plan of Impressing a dragon. Something to further his father's legacy. He arrived back at Benden soon enough and became a candidate as soon as possible. His plan would be fulfilled no matter what the cost was- Faranth, if he had to buy a wher egg and alter the plan a little bit, he would.
A year passed, and a Hatching that he stood at proved fruitful. He Impressed a blue named Taeth, a kind, gentle being that Victor was not a fan of the second they met. He wanted a 'better color', knowing that the colorism of Benden would now loom over him at all times. He expected a brown, or a bronze, not a blue. But, there was no turning back now, he supposed. He just had to deal with his new companion. The star of that Hatching was, of course, the gold. Wyzeth. Alayna and Wyzeth, to be precise. And not long after, their departure from Benden to a less traditional weyr. Wherever that was. He didn't question it.
He wasn't treated the best at Benden, but stuck around as that was his home Weyr, as sucky as it was to be diminished because of the dragon he didn't even like. He joined up with the Healer's Wing, as that was his plan all along. He was glad to have completed it, and assumed that he would spend the rest of his life near the Benden infirmary.
Soon enough, news spread that Alayna and her gold were at Benden, alive, and hidden away. And then even sooner, Fort came and rescued her and took her away. Despite his anger towards the situation, Victor did not leave Benden to follow her. He'd built too much of his life there to move... until he realized that he could continue building his life literally anywhere else. He recently moved to Semaca because Benden was just too... Benden. He had enough, more or less, of the lies and the looming and the 'all of it'. Victor has since joined up with the Healer's Wing at Semaca, with his former classmate, Alayna. He is adjusting to a Weyr where everything is new, and incredibly less colorist. But he will admit that it does feel good to get the weight of Benden's burdens off his back.
