HAIR: Sandy brown
HEIGHT AND BUILD: 5’7, Muscular
FULL APPEARANCE:
Soursop simply doesn’t care about his appearance. His hair, a mess of sandy brown, sticks out wherever it pleases. He keeps himself clean, but otherwise does not care to try and make himself look ‘good’ or ‘presentable’. His clothing is all rugged and meant to be used for outdoor work, all tough leather and sturdy cloth. Still, he can run through clothing fast, and often has to repair his clothing himself. As such, his clothes look pretty patchwork.
He himself is muscular and heavily tanned due to energetic training during his stint at candidacy. He’s usually covered in bruises and scrapes because he puts way more energy into his movements than he needs to. As such, he’s prone to tripping and stumbling and bumping into things and people. Sour heals pretty quickly, and rarely retains evidence of his clumsiness or mishaps for more than a few days. He can be delicate when he wants to be, but overall he has a rough and heavyhanded touch when he’s not doing healer related things.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Sour is impatient, overly eager and above all, high energy.
He works hard and has a great zest for life. Ever since he was young, he’s always wanted to help others with their problems. Of course, this doesn’t always work and can get on people’s nerves very easily. Of course he lets it roll off, and moves on to the next person who might need his help. He simply doesn’t let regret hold him back or stop him from moving forward. This attitude, while good overall, makes it a little hard for him to empathize with others when they get stuck or dwell on problems. As such, he can be a bit strained in is bedside manner if he’s not allowed to give himself a moment to shift into a more appropriate mindset.
Despite this, Sour takes dragonhealing very seriously. He is very careful to calm himself and settle down before starting any work, so that his patients get the best care they possibly can. He actually feels more at ease around dragons than people, and this extends to whers and flits as well. Not to say he doesn’t get along with people, he just prefers the company of draconic beings, as he has a fascination with them.
Intra-Weyr politics may as well be a different language to him. He really doesn’t care about such things, so far out of his scope and range of interest that he actively avoids most of that talk. The only time he really puts forth his two marks are when a Queen or a great loss of dragon life is involved.

Older Brother (Adoptive, blood related to Herbarth) – Erbal (Healer)
BIRTHPLACE: Some minor hold
HISTORY:
Soursop was adopted after his birth parents realized they couldn’t handle a child.
He would have normally been released into the Creche, but Herbarth and Lilly, family friends, offered to take the boy off their hands. It hardly mattered. Sour enjoyed life with the family, even if Herbarth wasn’t always there due to his duties as a Healer. Markest and Erbal both helped raise Sour alongside Lilly and were happy to have him in their lives. Erbal and Sour bonded over both wanting to follow in their parents’ footsteps and become healers. They used to practice putting bandages on the family flit, who took it with the patience of a saint. Markest, meanwhile, was not the gentle type, and was eventually Searched from their home. Sour would always recall the day he first saw the dragon, a great glittering bronze that wowed and amazed him.
For a short while, he was torn between being a healer or a dragonrider. Of course it was Lilly who informed him that he could do BOTH if he felt like it. It would just be a great deal more work. Lucky for Sour, he had energy to burn. So even at a younger age, he launched himself into learning how to heal dragons. Even if he didn’t get Searched, he realized that helping dragons in any way he could was certainly his calling. He tackled the work and education with everything he had, proving to be both a bright pupil and surprisingly graceful under pressure.
His studies were interrupted when he was Searched at 17, much to his delight and frustration. The workload at Benden Weyr was hard, yes. But he refused to give in, even when he was exhausted from all he had to do. He Stood for Turns, not attracting the attention of dragons, which was also fine by him. It gave him more time to study and plan for his future. At the age of 24, he was pretty set on accepting that he wasn’t going to Impress, and that was fine. He’d already walked the tables, and was now a full blown Dragonhealer. But as his 25th birthday loomed, he found himself face to face with a clutch that would grant him a new friend.
The green was pretty small, but she was stocky, strong as an ox and twice as stubborn. She had thrashed her way out of the egg, and had lashed out at one of the candidates… only to get a mouthful of arm as Sour got between them. It hurt, yes but Sour wasn’t about to let anyone get injured, if he could help it. He knew his limits, and a dragon bite wasn’t going to be a career ender. Not at this stage, anyway. But it was going to need patching and would probably sting in the morning.
You. I like you.
Lalulith was what she called herself. A pretty name for a very stoic dragon. She Impressed to Sour and stuck by his side ever since. Lalulith would spend her days not only helping Sour with his healing duties but also keeping him from getting in everyone’s way with his zeal. She was perfect for him and she knew it.
Once they both graduated, Soursop decided his talents were needed elsewhere. So in a brilliant stroke of genius, he immediately transferred to Semeca, to help explore the place and to assist in building up the weyr into a great place to live.
