FULL APPEARANCE: Anakin is a guard, and it shows. He's strong and lean, moving with the grace of an experienced fighter. He holds himself confidently, though there is also something wary about him. He is always on his guard, and people outside his immediate family and friends rarely see a smile on his face. There is a shadow in his blue eyes that only lifts when he's around Padme, Ahsoka, and his children. He keeps his hair tousled, in a sort of rebellion against the strict haircut Obiwan forced him into when he was younger. Clothing-wise, he prefers simplicity, mostly dark leather and cloth. He keeps a favored dagger at his side at all times, ready to draw it at a moment's notice. One thing of note is that he has a scar over his right eye. The eye itself is intact, but the scar is hard to miss.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Anakin is a man who feels everything very intensely. Love, hatred, rage, sorrow, passion, he burns with emotion. He is utterly devoted to his family and friends, to the point of risking his own life for them without a second thought. He has learned to give some outward appearance of controlling his emotions, but this leads to bursts of destructive anger when he can't hold it in anymore, or when something truly devastating has happened in his life.
Anakin grew up feeling like an outcast, taken from his home and forced to live up to impossible expectations at a young age. He shields himself behind a cocky persona, not wanting to show weakness to those who already doubted him. He pretends he's confident in his abilities, and he partly is, but he also has lingering doubts. Is he really as good as Quigon thought he was, all those Turns ago? Good enough to be plucked from a tiny Hold and thrust into a larger world? As much as he embraces all this outwardly, he will confess his doubts to Padme in private.
Underneath all this, Anakin is very good with children, and could have been an excellent creche master in another life. Teaching Ahsoka, and now his children, has made him more responsible and tamed his recklessness a little bit. He saw a lot of himself in Ahsoka, and resolved to be a better example. He'll always be more than a little reckless, listening to his gut rather than his head. He's stopped rushing into dangerous situations quite as much since he has a family to think about, though.
HISTORY
FAMILY: Shmi (mother, deceased), Quigon (adoptive dad of sorts, deceased), Obiwan (adoptive brother/dad), Ahsoka (adoptive sister), Luke, Leia, Shmi (children)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: Padme of Bronze Padmesk
BIRTHPLACE: Small Fort-beholden hold, named "Tatooine"
HISTORY: TW: death
Anakin's early life was a difficult one. Before his birth, his mother had incurred a large debt to Watto, the smith in their small hold. Anakin grew up toiling at basic smith work, since Watto saw fit to transfer some of his mother's debt to him. He promised that both mother and son would be free faster, since both were working, but neither of them saw an end.
Anakin was a bright, talented child, and this did not go unnoticed among their small Hold. Two guardsmen from Fort, Quigon and Obiwan, stopped at Tatooine hold for supplies. There, they noticed eight-Turn-old Anakin setting up traps to help defend against intruders, since Tatooine was too small to merit a wher-pair to guard them. Quigon took an interest in the boy, much to Obiwan's initial consternation, and attempted to pay off Anakin and Shmi's debt.
Quigon only had enough marks on him to pay off one of their debts, though, and he was forced to choose. Regretfully, he chose to take Anakin with him to Fort proper, though he didn't ever tell Anakin that he'd intentionally chosen him over his mother. Anakin was excited and grateful, though he had reservations. These only grew as he was introduced to the rest of the Fort guards, who treated him with suspicion and wanted him sent back home. Quigon was soon killed in a skirmish against Holdless, and Obiwan took it upon himself to fulfill his mentor's dying wish. Train the boy.
So Anakin was trained as a guard, though he was never really accepted due to the circumstances of his arrival at Fort. To make matters worse - or better, depending who you asked - Padme, the heir of Nabol, was sent to foster at Fort. Anakin saw her and immediately fell in love with her. Obiwan disapproved, but hoped sincerely that it was just a childish crush. It was not.
Turns passed, in which Anakin continued his training. He learned quickly with Obiwan's careful tutelage, though Anakin would always be far more reckless than the more sedate older man would like. Still, Obiwan was proud of his protege, and wanted him to become a wherhandler. Anakin informally took on a protege of his own, Ahsoka, despite not being a full guardsman yet. The two became like siblings, and Obiwan watched over them as they trained together.
Matters were complicated when Padme returned to Fort, many Turns after her first long stay there. Anakin's crush had never abated, and to his delight, Padme started to return his affections soon after they reunited. The two were less cautious than they should have been, wrapped up in each other and Anakin's bright future. They were caught, a disaster for both of them. Obiwan was furious that his protege would be so indiscreet with a future Lady, but offered him the chance to stay on at Fort if he were to end things with Padme, who'd quickly lost her status as heir. Anakin chose his weyrmate over his future - or so it seemed at the time - and moved to Igen Weyr with Padme.
A few months after their arrival, their lives were turned upside down. Padme gave birth to twins, and Anakin, observing a wher hatching, was chosen by one of the wherlets. Bronze Anakisk was a spirited handful, rather similar to Anakin himself. With twin babies to take care of as well, the family was chaos for quite a while. Anakin and Anakisk graduated without too much incident, taking their place in the Igen ground crew.
When Anakisk graduated, Anakin finally had the freedom to go back and visit his mother. Armed with marks they'd saved, Anakin and Padme went to pay off Shmi's debt and bring her to Igen. But she'd fallen ill, and not even the best healers could do anything. Soon after he went back to Tatooine for the first time in Turns, Anakin's mother died in his arms. Despondent, Anakin returned to Igen, living for his family for a while.
Another tragedy struck when Anakisk was just a few Turns old. The bronze tripped and fell headfirst into a Thread burrow. There was no saving him. Padme talked about a new start, somewhere called Semaca, down South. Anakin, guilty over his mother, his wher, and his protege (he'd lost track of Ahsoka somewhere in the initial scandal), agreed in a heartbeat.
After their arrival in Semaca, Anakin was convinced by his children to try for another wher. He agreed, and bonded to blue Anask at the Spirits hatching, the same Hatching at which Padme bonded her bronze Padmesk. Now that the couple has graduated, they're thinking about expanding their family some more.
