Along with this, he has bushy eyebrows and a circle-styled beard and mustache. His blue eyes often have a stern, almost remorseful look in them. He tends to wear browns and more neutral colors in his attire.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Genn is a very proud individual. He views everything he's done as a personal achievement to himself. He enjoys spending time with his family and often views them as the most important treasures in his life. However, he can also be wrathful and can be very accusatory at times. For example, when his son, Liam, died during Threadfall, he was quick to blame the squad he was in, even though it was no fault of their own. He finds it incredibly hard to forgive someone, as he views that, if they were truly sorry, they wouldn't have done what made him dislike them to begin with. Naturally, this can make him incredibly hard to work with.
He is also incredibly strong-willed. It takes a lot for something to make him begin crying, let alone break down. He does not like to show tears, believing them to be a sign of weakness. At least to himself, that is. If someone else is crying, especially someone he cares about, he is happy to lend them a shoulder to cry on. He tends to be more sympathetic to weyrlings, wherlings and candidates compared to riders and handlers as well, mostly due to the fact they are inexperienced and are younger.

HISTORY:
Genn had lived a pretty normal life in High Reaches Weyr. Both of his parents were wherhandlers and, thus, he was raised in the creche. However, he was proud of his parents and thus, when he turned seventeen, he decided to become a wher candidate. He did have to wait a bit before impressing to a brown wher when he was around twenty-four. Eventually, he fell in love and became weyrmates with a wonderful woman, the two having two children, Liam and Tess. There was also a young boy, Varian, who was raised in the creche that Mia grew fond of. They eventually began to view him as their son.
However, starting around 2726, things started to change. Crops had began failing horribly, lasting for several turns. This made vegetables and grains hard to come by and, at times, they would only eat meat that was hunted or bought. Genn worked even harder to help support his family, wanting to ensure the best life for them. Eventually, in 2731, the Interval War started.
Genn served hard, helping defend the weyr with Gesk. He did not care at all if he was injured in the process. He wanted to protect his weyr. He wanted to protect HIS FAMILY. This included following Golre's orders, no matter what it meant. He didn't even really know how bad it was for dragonriders, weyrlings and candidates, or if he did, he did not stand up for them.
Eventually, Liam would become a wherhandler and Genn was so proud of him. It was the turn 2750. He was so proud of his son, but then.. it happened. Liam had gone into battle to help defend the weyr from enemy dragons with some other wherhandlers and, while the others had made it out, Liam had died, along with his wher.
Genn was devastated. Devastated.. and angry. He blamed the wherhandlers who had been with him for his death and he blamed Golre, though he never said it to her. He had just graduated and now, he and his wher were dead! He felt so much anger that he could never forgive them, no matter what. They would always be at fault for his son's death.
During this time, Varian also had a son, though his weyrmate died shortly after birth. Genn did not really get to meet the child growing up, though he did enjoy listening to Varian's stories about him.
The war ended five turns later and things seemed to carry on as normal. Thread had returned and now, instead of fighting other weyrs, Genn and Gesk worked hard to fight Thread. However, peace did not seem to last for long, as Golre declared High Reaches as the peacekeepers. This caused for several people in High Reaches to leave, though Genn stayed with Mia. Tess had decided to leave with them, not approving of Golre's actions in the weyr.
Just a year later, Golre would launch two attacks on Fort Weyr, dying in the second raid. Genn only felt peace with that. After all, he had blamed her as well as the other wherhandlers for his son's death. All Golre had deserved was death.
Time went on and on for Genn as usual. Eventually, High Reaches would be led by a council, led by a former holder named Xander. He did not really care much about it, as he tended to not care for politics. As long as they did a better job than Golre, he didn't care who was in charge.
However, one day in the turn 2767, Anduin arrived at the weyr, having been searched. Genn was proud of the other, along with Varian. It would be a turn later, however, when both Anduin and Genn would weep for Varian after his death. Threadfall had been intense and Varian had given his life for High Reaches. Genn.. couldn't find himself to blame the others in his wing, though. Varian wanted to protect the weyr and his son. He couldn't blame anyone for the other's decision.
When the two eggs appeared in the sands of High Reaches, Genn felt disgusted. Maybe he had been wrong about the council. He decided that, eventually, it would be time to leave the weyr. In his eyes, the council had failed and stolen eggs. In fact, could the eggs that hatched in the fall of 2770 had also been stolen?
When Anduin told him about his plans to go to Semaca Weyr with Wrathion, someone the candidate seemed very fond of, Genn had decided to transfer there as well. He arrived in Spring 2771.
He felt this was the best place for him to make a new start. Plus, it seemed that Semaca's leadership wasn't as bad as High Reaches's.
He isn't too sure about these pirates, though.
