Hedroom is a tall, slim man. He moves very elegantly... but only with the way he walks. Other than that, he has very over exaggerated facial expressions just because he wants to! He also smiles very often, even when he shouldn't, because he likes showing off his smile. He has a strong jawline, and very sharp cheekbones.
He really likes to dress up nice when he can, he thinks that clothes are a person's first impression. Hedroom also has a stutter that tends to come and go. Sometimes he goes whole sililoquies without stuttering, then all of a sudden, every second word gets repeated over and over and over again.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Hedroom is a loud, brash, snarky, and sarcastic man. He has an ego the size of the planet, maybe the universe, scientists haven't figured it out yet. He doesn't like feeling lesser than other people, and will 'work his ass off' (in his mind, at least) to be better than whoever is, in his opinion, better than him. He talks more than he should, and if you tell him to be quiet? He won't. Good luck. He's actually quite funny and loves cracking jokes at every moment that he can. Better to be a comedic actor than a dramatic one!
He has a bad temper that boils over often, and he doesn't tend to apologize because he thinks that people should just not take offence to anything that he says. Hedroom likes doing meanspirited things randomly because he finds them more fun. He's a jerk, in short. Sometimes he says incredibly morbid and offputting things, sometimes he says things with a wisdom far beyond his years that sounds like it should be coming from an old man rather than himself, it's the Harper training.
HISTORY
FAMILY: Onroom (father, alive), Hedis (mother, alive), Journeyman Harper Edison of Blue Edisk (older brother, alive)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: High Reaches
HISTORY:
Hedroom was the youngest of two boys. While Edison, his older brother, alsways seemed the more important, more likely to do great things, Hedroom was a showoff. He wanted to make sure everyone knew he was cooler and better than his other brother. He was cracking jokes around the creche with the other kids, he was making up and telling stories, and, you know, being a general nuisance. One day while running around the Weyr like no tomorrow, he tripped, fell, and whacked his head on a rock. He found himself with a concussion. While the healers told him not to sleep on it... he didn't listen, and that left him with a stutter he'd never get to lose. It never shut him up anyway. You'd just hear the story, and the remixed version at the same time.
When Edison went to Harper Hall to become a harper at 8, Hedroom followed suit when he turned the same age. He couldn't just let his older brother overshadow him. Sure, Edison wanted to fall into more of the teaching and reciting side of the craft, and Hedroom wanted to become an actor, but that didn't mean anything to Hedroom. He wanted to be better! And if that meant he had to become a harper too, then he'd do it. It took a while, and of course he walked the tables and graduated a year after his brother, but he did officially become a Journeyman Harper.
What would he do now? Become an actor, star in plays, create his own plays so that he could be the star and if his stutter really kicked into gear? Oh, the character has a stutter canonically, it's no big deal. Deal with it, critics. He and a bunch of other Journeymen created a little acting troupe and started travelling between Weyrs and Holds to perform. He'd found his passion! Why would he do literally anything other than his passion?
His brother sent him a letter. A 'hello, how are you, I have a wher now,' sort of letter. Blue Edisk, apparently. And boy, did it send Hedroom into a tizzy. It wasn't enough that he felt like he was the better harper of the two of them, he wanted to be the better wherhandler too. So, he went and bought himself a wher egg, gave it a little time, and then it hatched. Green Hedrosk all but slithered over to him and bit him right on the hand. She was sneaky, she wasn't afraid to bite another person, he was exctatic. She was the PERFECT wher. Get forsked, Edison!
What now? He thought about it for a good minute or two. Well, he had a wher, might as well prove himself as a handler and go to a Weyr. But he'd been to all of them already... except Semaca. That really struck up his decision to pack up his bags and moved all the way over there. He joined the Weyr Guard and the rest was history. It's been a bit of a change, for sure, going from doing whatever you want whenever you want to having to fit in with the rules of the Weyr. He's also had a bit of trouble going from the 'hero of the story' to just another guy at the Weyr, but he's sure that one of these days he's going to be fine with it. He says he has no opinions on everything happening at Semaca and it's true because, yeah, he doesn't care. Why would he? The pirates aren't hurting him, so, it doesn't matter. Although, the spotties... are a little concerning. He is a little concerned, but he's absolutely positive that Hedrosk could take them. Maybe not all at once, but she's a toughie, she could take a few (while he hides in the distance). The rest? Well, who cares! He's Hedroom, he can tackle anything Semaca throws at him (and do it better than his brother).
