FULL APPEARANCE: D'ax is on the tall side, slender. She likes looking her best, whether she's in a dress or riding leathers, so she takes good care of her clothes, and she enjoys wearing makeup when appropriate. For special occasions, she likes to play around with makeup to create interesting body art on her face, neck, and arms. She's not so precious about her appearance that she'll shy away from getting dirty, though. Her posture is excellent, and she often stands with her hands clasped behind her back. She bites her nails when she's thinking. She rarely does much with her hair, either putting it back in a ponytail, tying back just her bangs, or else wearing it down.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: D’ax throws herself fully into life. She loves nothing more than experiencing new things, new people, new places, new skills. Life is for the living, after all, so might as well act like it. She feels like she’s earned her place as a dragonrider with all her hard work and now is the time for her to actually enjoy it. That said, she’s good enough at compartmentalizing that she does take her work seriously when it’s time to work. The downside of that is that she is reluctant to engage with anything serious outside of a work environment and has little patience for goofing off when it’s time to work. She needs the clear division of personal vs. professional, and she doesn’t do well when they overlap.
D'ax can be headstrong and stubborn, and isn't afraid to speak her mind. While she can force herself to be tactful about it in professional settings, D'ax is a woman who feels - and expresses - her emotions to the fullest. She is honest about who she is and how she feels, and if that means refusing to apologize because she doesn't regret her words or actions, so be it.
Because of how highly she values new experiences, D'ax has been known to befriend dubious people or engage in ill-advised activities. She has enough sense not to put Firarith or others in obvious danger, but she would rather live to regret the bad choices she made than live a life indistinguishable from the lives of those around her.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
Curzon - Father, bluerider, deceased
Kela - mother, greenrider at Igen
Ezrid - sister, weyrfolk at Igen
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: No one permanent yet
BIRTHPLACE: Igen Weyr
HISTORY:
Dajax was born at Igen to Curzon and Kela. She had a full-blooded sister as well, but only Curzon seemed to have any interest in interacting with his children. He was a very demanding father in a lot of ways, and expected nothing short of excellence from his daughters. After all, so few Weyrfolk actually became riders, so to improve their chances he pushed them both very hard to be the best. Jadzia rose to her father’s expectations, relishing the challenge, never being discouraged by failure. She had a complicated relationship with him, because on the one hand she appreciated how his high expectations pushed her to be the best, but she was frustrated that he didn’t seem to realize those same expectations caused her little sister to become anxious and withdrawn as a person. He ended up dying due to threadfall injuries, but lived long enough to see his first daughter impress, at least.
Dajax was an dedicated candidate, adhering to rules more than was strictly necessary, and that work ethic continued on during her weyrling years after an unremarkable impression in her mid twenties. She earned the nickname ‘Old Man’ during this time when Firarith exclaimed loudly “You’re just an old man, D’ax!” in response to a private debate they’d been having. He was young enough that he accidentally projected it to everyone there, but D’ax was such a good sport about it that the nickname stuck.
Once the pair graduated, however, D’ax finally felt able to let loose and she did so with wild abandon. Many people speculated she’d slow down eventually, but five turns later she still hasn’t. In fact, she put in for a transfer to Semaca because she’s eager to experience all the wild stories she keeps hearing about the newest, unconventional Weyr.
