Dear Diary: Today I threw three cats into the old guy's yard. He got surprised and knocked over all his potted plants.
I feel sorts sorry about what I did so I've been thinking ...
Next time, only one cat at a time.

FULL APPEARANCE: Jo'cetin is limbs for days. He's long in leg and arm but definitively lacking in some muscle definition - up to and including his brain. Sure his calves might be pumped and yeah, he's got some strong arms. But don't come looking for a six pack or you'll leave dehydrated. Jo'cetin is a scrawny rat with nimble fingers. He'd give the impression of being starved to near-death with the gauntness of his cheeks. Long, unkempt hair sweeps well below where the bases of his shoulder blades meet. Those long strands are split and, more often than not, horribly tangled. He refuses to cut it (or tame it).
Jo'cetin favors clothes that are sporty and aerodynamic. Shirts are probably a little tighter than they need to be. Pants? No. They get cut short at the knees, no matter where he is or what he's doing. Many a good pair of trousers had suffered under a knife.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: Jo'cetin is a hemorrhoid through and through. He has very little consideration for anybody else's dignity - even his own! Privacy? Respect? Those are things intended for folks with legendary statuses - Moreta! Faranth! So basically that means nobody on Pern has the right to shield themselves from him. The turnaround on this is that Jo'cetin does not reserve any specialties for himself, either. In his own eyes this essentially means that he views everybody as equals no matter the rank or age. One might consider this a scam if they found him pilfering marks from their stockpile, however.
He is an aloof prankster with obstinate disregard of who he might be offending. He would absolutely pull the chair out from under a Lord Holder and laugh directly in their face about it. He's inevitably run afoul of somebody's backhand and has had several shoes thrown at him, all in retribution of his jackassery. But Jo'cetin is good-spirited about all of it. He will laugh beyond the bruises and cuts and admit he probably definitely deserved it.
Despite all of his quirks, Jo'cetin himself is a good-hearted individual. He wants only good things to unfold for himself and his friends and can't quite wrap his head around why somebody would demand otherwise. He genuinely cares for friend and rival alike. And he will absolutely lie his ass off for them if it meant getting them out of trouble.
HISTORY
FAMILY:
Liylian - mother (48)
Varknan - father (✝)
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: None
BIRTHPLACE: Igen Sea Hold
HISTORY: Liylian and her family were sea merchants. Her paths eventually crossed with Varknan when they were both in their late teen years. He had boarded their ship as a volunteer deckhand in search of adventure. They eventually fell in love through the Turns, sealing each other's hands in marriage the moment Liylian turned 19. Gradually they settled down in Igen Sea Hold. A few turns in, they introduced Jolincetin into the world.
Varknan could not absolve his desire for adventure. He left his wife and child in the Hold to continue exploring but was always faithful to his family, returning without fail every few months to recount his adventures and bond with his baby. Liylian took up kitchen work, eventually scrounging enough of a reputation to be a head cook.
Jolincetin grew into a fine young lad if 'fine' meant pain-in-the-ass. He quickly fell into a crowd of children who looked up to him due to his bold nature. They got into all sorts of shenanigans and caused endless, harmless mayhem to the hold folk. Never did a day go by where Liylian wasn't hearing complaints about what her son and his friends did.
At 13, Varknan returned with a fire-lizard egg as a naming day gift for his son. It hatched into a little garnet fire-lizard that would be named Puffy due to the constant chuffing she did no matter her mood. This would also be the last time Jolincetin would see his father. He simply never returned, leaving his fate up to debate although death was presumed. After all, Varknan preferred to travel alone and bandits were prone to prey upon those who were vulnerable. Was it wise? No. Preventable? Absolutely. But Varknan ... well, he was living his best life with no regrets. His wife and child more or less accepted it would end up like this eventually.
This did not put a damper on Jolincetin's spirits. Rather, he looked up to his father and the adventurous spirit that was so becoming of him. He himself was feeling the desire to explore, and his eyes fell across Big Bay. At 16 - and with his mother's blessing - Jolincetin bid farewell to Igen Sea Hold and boarded a ship that would take him to Ista Hold. There he was Searched by an Istan dragonrider. Meeting the garnet Sueth on the Hatching Sands seemed an inevitable turn of events. Jolincetin, now Jo'cetin, never had the intention to become a dragonrider but by following his innate desires and wanderlust, he had become lost in the swirling bewitchment of two swirling rainbow eyes.
Sueth and Jo'cetin meshed together like nut butter and jam, with Puffy being the bread. They got along well - too well - and quickly became a headache for all who intermingled with them. Jo'cetin never grew out of his prankster ways despite the earning of a new title and the acquirement of turns on his belt. Sueth was fantastic at encouraging his behavior. Puffy was ... Puffy. They had an appetite for mischief that was overpowered only by their combined desire to explore. And there was a fantastic new place waiting for them to dig their heels in. The Summerlands.
Armed with eagerness and shadowed by their reputation, Jo'cetin and Sueth arrived at Semaca and were placed promptly into Lominsa Squad due to their immediate antics.
