Along with this, he has some stubble around his mouth and chin. His blue eyes often have a hostile look in them. He tends to wear looser fitting clothes.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Solhrae honestly hates bronzes and golds. He refuses to work with them, due to how greens and blues were treated in Benden. He hated the idea that greens and blues were always 'subordinate' to bronzes and golds. He often speaks to them in a hostile tone if they choose to speak to him, wanting them to be well aware he doesn't like them or trust them at all.
Solhrae has a distinct way of doing things. He will do things as meticulously as possible and will never stray from this pattern. If something forces him to do things differently, he tends to get a bit angsty. He doesn't like to stray from the way he does things and is often rigid in how he does things. In fact, he often refuses to change ways and will often argue rather aggressively that his way is correct. Even if everyone else tells him to do something differently, he will refuse and continue to do it his own way.
It's either his way, which is the best way, or the highway.
He loves to spoil Herth. He will often buy the best oils he can for her hide and will often buy her cute items and toys to play with. He adores his dragon a lot and views her as the greatest good he'll ever have.
HISTORY

SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A
BIRTHPLACE: Benden Weyr
HISTORY: TW: Kidnapping, Drugging
Like many children who were born in the Weyr, Solhrae never thought there was anything wrong with Benden until he was older. He was born to two dragonriders during the Interval War, though Solhrae does not remember much from that time. He was raised mostly by the creche and was a quiet child, often keeping to himself and not wanting to spend a lot of time with others. However, he did have a bit of a kindness to him, often sharing his snacks with others.
The war ended when Solhrae was eleven, in the turn 2755. However, the end of the war was caused by the return of Threadfall. He remembered watching dragonriders and wherhandlers work together to help fight Thread and it seemed to light a spark in him. He wanted to do that, to help those in need. That was the main reason why he chose to become a candidate four turns later, in 2759.
During the spring of 2760, he attended the hatching of a clutch born to Gold Nuuth. He did not believe he would impress. After all, he was a relatively new candidate and he did not think that a dragon would bond with him. However, he was wrong.
A beautiful, floral patterned egg had been one of the first to hatch and a small green trotted out, confidently to Solhrae. Her name was Herth and Solhrae instantly fell in love with the green. To him, she was a perfectly grown flower, needing to be cherished to keep from being damaged. The two shared an incredibly close bond as soon as she hatched.
His candidacy had nothing notable happen to him, but one day, he noticed Alayna, someone who had impressed with him, had seemed to disappear overnight. He decided not to ask questions about it, mostly as he did not really interact with Alayna except for classes. However, he did notice he was expected to be subordinate to bronzes and golds, something Herth did not like.
Solhrae didn't care for it as well. He did not like how he, and other greenriders, were treated and expected to do things. However, he also held his tongue, letting his anger and resentment grow and grow. He felt that, if he let his feelings be known, he could end up in trouble.
And, as much as he wanted to, he did not want Herth to be subjected to anything bad. He just remained quiet, following orders and fighting Thread.
However, things got to a breaking point. When riders from Benden Weyr attacked Serapheath at a touching and kidnapped two riders, Solhrae felt disgusted. He couldn't believe how truly horrible his weyr was and decided that he was going to leave.
As Fort attacked Benden Weyr, he and Herth took this as a time for them to flee. They had firmly decided that they would head to Igen Weyr. Solhrae believed they would not be judged as a result of being from Benden. He never once regretted his decision, especially when he heard of the fate of Alayna and Wyzeth.
They had been drugged for five turns and the gold dragon was forced to take flight in order to bolster Benden's egg numbers. There was no love lost from Solhrae to his former home. However, around in the spring of 2771, he decided he decided to transfer again, this time to Semaca Weyr.
He had joined Requiem Squad, enjoying the work he did for the weyr. Semaca Weyr was much better, Solhrae had to admit. This was a place that he and Herth could be free.
However, he is admittedly unsure of these pirates, but if they don't cause problems.. why should he bother with them?
