With a spirit running wild, running free

They were quick to recognize the devil in me."

FULL APPEARANCE:
Kenn'y is a tall, lean woman. Her strength resides mainly in her arms, strengthened by years of dragon-related labor and general fitness. She does her best to keep her blonde hair straight, and it will stay like that for a while, but it is quite sensitive to heat and humidity. Give a couple of minutes in the heat and the top layer will get a little frizzy and all of it will get wavy. Signs of age are hitting her slowly, and she's quite grateful for that. But, that doesn't mean that the crow's feet and laughter lines haven't come in yet.
She often walks about with her hands in her pants pockets. She's the type of person to switch into shorts at the first sign of warm weather and wear them until it gets too cold to do so. She isn't a dressy sort of gal, so her wardrobe is completely devoid of dresses, skirts, and fancy clothes. Despite being a fan of darker colors, she can't deny that her favorite color is pastel pink. She has a black leather jacket that she wears when the Semaca heat isn't blistering.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
One thing is for sure, Kenn'y will always be herself. Unfortunately, she falls victim to middle child syndrome. While she no longer strives so hard to fit in and takes pride in being hereself, she's a bit of a wild child. She's not afraid to disagree and confront the status quo when things she doesn't happen to agree with take place. No rule is ever too important to be broken in her mind... which can lead to a bit of trouble for her. She may be a planner, that doesn't mean that her plans aren't reckless for the fun of it. Yes, she can be professional. When she has to her job she's entirely so, but once she clocks out? That drops instantly.
Kenn'y can be a pleasant woman to be around when she wants to be. She's quick witted and audacious, crafty and cunning, and pretty darn smart. Coming up with solutions to problems is one of her favorite things. She absolutely loves to learn and loves to talk even more.
She loves a friendly verbal spar with others, but her need to be right can make them turn not-so-friendly. Often times, she will be completely intolerant of others' points of view. She can easily take these 'friendly spars' too far, does so often, and refuses to apologize. This can make her seem mean-spirited or even fully disagreeable. She loves, loves, loves to stir the pot. Cause a little mischief. Start rumors. See where they go. She always thinks that she should get what she wants, even if its impossible to do so.
For a mother who would do absolutely anything for her son, Kenn'y isn't very stereotypically motherly. Maybe that just came with being born in the creche, but even then, she treats family and friends the exact same way- as friends. She'd rather be best friends with her son than a mother figure, and she certainly has accomplished that.

HISTORY:
Kennedy was born the second child of two very busy riders, Nor'm and Ann'e, so she didn't often see them while being raised in the creche. They did try to visit when they could though, leading them feeling more like friends to her than family. She was often attached at the hip to her two siblings, Patrick and Wednesday. This was both good and bad, as they were quite close and always had someone to talk to, but young Kennedy was ready to cause problems at a moments notice. She'd often drag Wendy into whatever prank or scheme she had, and make Ricky be their alibi. Sometimes they got caught, sometimes they didn't.
When looking to the future, Kennedy could only see herself doing one thing: being a dragonrider. Her parents did it, lots of other people did it, and surely she could as well. She convinced her siblings to stand with her after a long-winded speech about duties to weyrs and family legacies and just generally being super cool. Ricky, the eldest, was able to stand first and also Impressed first to a cold brown named Amerith. Seeing her brother impress and elide his name to R'ick made Kennedy want to do the same.
Years passed, Kennedy and Wendy were on the stands for a fair amount of years. Eventually, Wendy dropped out of dragon candidacy. She wanted to be with her boyfriend, and later weyrmate, who became a wherhandler. Kennedy was glad that her sister at least got her own wher. That just left her alone on the sands waiting for a dragon.
It was taking longer and longer. Soon she was 24 and getting ready to age out and get a wher, but the world had other plans. At one random hatching, she found herself Impressing to... something. It wasn't just shades of one color, it was several. Reds, blues, and whites. It measured up each of the candidates before sitting down in front of her and complaining about them all. It didn't matter what other people thought she was, or what they thought about her for impressing something like her. She was her Azurite Iscaroth, and Kenn'y was elated.
Now she could be a dragonrider. Once she was out of weyrlinghood, she finally felt like she could start her own life. She... didn't really know what she wanted though. Years spent seeing herself as a dragonrider and doing everything to get there meant that she hadn't spent time on figuring out who she was and neglecting certain aspects of herself. Like her sexuality.
She knew that she liked girls. In fact, she knew she only liked girls, but she struggled to deal with that. Her brother had a girlfriend, her sister had Michael, her weyrmate. She felt like she needed boyfriend to fit in and have kids and keep the family line going, and so she got one. Later, they became weyrmates, and even later on, she had a son named Harrison. He was her pride and joy and she'd do anything for him.
Eventually, it her relationship became too much. She saw a mindhealer and worked through how she felt and why she didn't want to come to terms with her sexuality. She brought it up with her weyrmate and the two agreed on an amicable split. A few turns after, Kenn'y met a fellow dragonrider named Keres. They hit it off instantly, and the two have been together ever since.
After many years of peaceful weyrmated bliss, Kenn't was bored. Not with Keres, not with her family, or her friends, just her career. Threadfall after Threadfall, they were so nerve-wracking that she felt her life span was going to get cut in half (or cut altogether) each time they jumped into the fray. There had to be another way to be of service to the weyr when you were a dragonrider, right?
And then it clicked. Semaca! Land of opportunity and several squads that had nothing to do with threadfighting. That was all she needed to hear before she sent off her and Keres' transfer papers and they made their way over to Semaca. Harrison came with them, and he drug along his boyfriend as well to both stand as candidates. Kenn'y joined up with Requiem Squad and Keres joined one of the threadfighting wings. All was done and settled, as it should be.
Kenn'y has been enjoying the heat and warm weather of Semaca when not doing her duties. Nothing better than spending a day out in the sun for her.
