FULL APPEARANCE:
Venat is quite tall, with platinum blonde hair and expressive blue eyes. She has fair skin, burning easily in the summer, with no noticeable blemishes on her face or neck. Her arms, torso, and legs, however, are covered in little nicks and scratches, insignificant but present, showing a life spent working and traveling rather than in ease and comfort. Her hair is long, falling past her shoulders, and naturally wavy. Build-wise, she is lean and lithe, though stronger than she looks.
As far as clothing goes, she wears practical garments fit for travel. Nothing too loose or flowing except for special occasions. Whites and greys are commonplace, though more natural browns and tans aren't unheard of.

PERSONALITY:
A compassionate, kindly person, Venat tends to make friends with like-minded individuals easily and her calm demeanor often puts others at ease in her presence. Unfortunately she is also curious to a fault, which can be off-putting to the more private individuals. While she recognizes when someone may want to be left alone, she may still try to pry into personal matters. She sometimes leaps before she looks, which can lead to embarrassing situations. Luckily, she's not foolish enough to do anything too dangerous without planning ahead, and thinks quickly on her feet when needed.
Wise beyond her years, she is at home in situations where she must be the voice of reason or impartiality. This said, she's also a bit mischievous, and while her answers may be impartial, they may not be entirely what one was expecting. Often she can be found gently teasing or playing harmless pranks on close friends.
Venat is rather sentimental, and many of her possessions are trinkets or favors from friends or loved ones she has left behind. She is also very stubborn and is unfaltering in her resolve. Once she sets her mind to a task, she will do her utmost to complete it, soldiering on despite any hardships she may encounter. She's not afraid to go against the tide, or to take on leadership roles where needed.

HISTORY:
Born of a tryst between a rider and trader passing through the Weyr, Venat was born on the roads of Pern. She did meet her rider parent growing up, as the caravan's route took them there at least once every few months, but spent a majority of her life on the road with her mother. There, she learned about Pern and its people, and while not formally educated, did learn more than enough to get by. She knows how to read and to write, as well as general mathematics--important skills for a traveling caravan and its trades.
As a child she was often the leader of her friend-group, leading them on small forays away from the traders proper--when it was safe to do so, of course--always looking for new things to see and experience. She has encountered wild animals of all shapes and sizes, including wild wher packs when they were so inclined to reveal themselves, giving her a healthy respect for the wildlife and nature of Pern. She has also encountered Holders of all makes and walks, as well as crafters and other travelers daring enough to brave the wilds of Pern during a Pass. Luckily, nothing terrible has befallen her... so far.
At age sixteen, she parted from her family's caravan to join another, hoping to experience more of the world as a whole on a new route.
At age twenty, one of the whers guarding the caravan clutched, and the eggs were passed out amongst the caravan members or sold at their next stop. Venat was one such lucky member of the trading caravan, bonding to Garnet Venask when she finally hatched. From there, the two were quick to bond emotionally, sharing an interest in seeing the world... even if it was at first partially just a baby wanting to know more about her bonded.
At age thirty-two, she finally decided to visit the Southern continent. While things would have been far more interesting had she arrived when Semaca was first founded, but now that life has been established and things are functioning well, it is somewhat safer. While the idea of being tied to one place isn't ideal to her, she understands the necessity.
