FULL APPEARANCE:
Tec'na is a very tall woman at 6'8". She's not particularly muscular by any means, in fact she's rather slim and lanky. She keeps her red hair short and close to her face, but the cut is asymmetrical and the longer strands tend to cover part of her right eye. She has pale skin, green eyes, an upturned nose, and a triangular jaw. Despite her duties, Tec'na has remained unscarred.
She loves the color purple and a fair bit of her wardrobe features these colors. Being fashionable comes naturally to her and she often dresses casually and practially, but very very nicely. That isn't to say that she owns a lot of fancy clothes, but that she is just good at matching colors and styles. She's not big into skirts and would rather wear pants or pants-like items.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Tec'na is smart. I mean really, really smart. She taught herself to read and write upon her arrival to Igen and has never since stopped in her persuit for knowledge. She has a lot of confidence in herself and her abilities, which is good! But, it has led to her having become a perfectionist to the worst degree. If something doesn't go the exact way she planned it, because of course the way she planned it was 'perfect', her temper rises and she becomes very angry and very distressed.
That's about the only time you'll see any real rise of emotion out of Tec'na. You see, she has trouble expressing her emotions, so she just... doesn't. She's very monotone in that way. She makes all of her decisions based on what she deems to be 'logical outcomes' without any regard for others' feelings. She likes doing things the same way every time because, to her, that is the right way. She hates taking other people's suggestions, opinions, and criticisms. She experiences life with her head and very rarely, if ever, with her heart.
She there's someone she considers to be her friend, she does try to be nice to them... but, it's her version of nice. She's never going to be the person who says nice things to you or acts really buddy-buddy with you, but, she will move Rukbat and Pern for you if need be. She loves love and wants to find someone to love someday. However, she has such high expectations of her ideal partner that she has yet to find a suitor that lives up to her dreams. She will take nothing less than perfection in love.

HISTORY:
Techona was born without much ado. She was a happy farming couple's first and only child. She spent her childhood running about and playing with the other children at the hold, laughing and screaming as children do. Once she was old enough, she helped her parents with the animals raised on their farm. She liked it, but she was never quite cut out for it.
Turns passed by, eventually she found herself at the age of 15. A searchrider and his blue came to her hold, his dragon finding her worthy of being a candidate. What choice had she but to go along? It was an honor to be searched, her parents had told her, why would she ever turn that down? So, she went with him.
She had never been to Igen before, but it was home now. It took her a few seasons to adjust to all the people there. Zenith was only small, but Igen? It was more people than she could even imagine. Within her candidate lessons, Techona became increasingly aggravated at the fact that all her weyrborn classmates had a basic understanding of literacy and that she, who was far smarter in her opinion, did not. Immediately, her primary goal was not to Impress, it was to become fully literate.
That goal would have to wait. Only a season after her 16th turnday, she had Impressed to a beautiful garnet dragon named Melodith. Surprisingly, despite their personality differences, the pair quickly became very close. Best friends, even. Weyrlinghood passed by quickly. Tec'na ended up learning how to read and write by the end of it, so to say that she was ecstatic would be an understatement.
They joined up with one of the threadfighting wings at Igen and did their job with pride... but not with any sort of enjoyment. It didn't suit Tec'na. Melodith couldn't give two shards about it either way. But, it wasn't like dragonriders could do much of anything else, now could they?
Well, she would eventually be glad to know that yes, they could. She hadn't been keeping many tabs on Semaca, just knowing that they were on the Southern Continent, that they had had a massive flood, and that there were pirates. She was shocked to hear that they had squads where dragonriders could do things other than threadfighting. She wanted in instantly.
She sent in for a transfer in the Fall of 2770 and made her way to Semaca, joining up with the Mazurka squad upon doing so. She immediately realized the dangerousness of her new home thanks to the spotty attacks that were occurring both in the Fall and in the Spring of the following turn. What had she gotten herself into? Thankfully, dealing with those spotties was Requiem's problem and not hers.
Outside of that, she has been falling into life at Semaca quite well. She loves her work and much prefers it to measly threadfighting. She has also been enjoying the implementation of Dragon Day and the festivities that come with it.
