FULL APPEARANCE: Aket is handsome, a fact of which he is well aware. From the confident swagger in his walk to the smug, flirty expression in his face, this is not a man who expects to be shot down in any regard. His hair is a dark shade of brown, relatively straight but worn in a shaggy, purposefully-messy style. His eyes are brown as well, but a lighter shade of it in comparison to his hair, the sort of natural amber that lighter eyes tend towards. His skin is on the lighter side, with an even complexion. He tends to wear eye kohl around his eyes and has an eyebrow piercing. He tends to wear darker clothing, often with accessories that people might consider a bit odd. He does, after all, enjoy standing out. He's a bit thin, albeit with lean muscle, and stands at a solid height. Overall, he is a bit of a pretty boy, though he is one who tends towards somewhat stranger styles.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: With a smug, smarmy attitude, Aket is an obnoxious mixture of arrogance and vanity, mixed in with a lack of care about the emotions of others. He's the best, he's great, and he's gorgeous, and...did you have problems? Who cares. Back to him. After all, everything is ALWAYS about Aket. He's self-centered and egotistical, to the point where he often legitimately forgets the fact that other people have lives outside of him. Every conversation is about him. Everything he does is for him. Even his tendency to thrive off negative reactions? Yeah, that's about him more than you. Really, he likes shocking people, weirding them out, or annoying them, simply because their responses are funny.
Why does he act the way he acts? It's simple: he's very easily bored. Risk-taking and annoying others add a bit of fun to the mix. Live fast, die young is his motto--he's here for a good time, not a long time. To him, there are no consequences, only fun times. When consequences inevitably arise, he is perplexed...and learns nothing. Unnecessary risk taking--including getting into fights and a focus on adrenaline--is his go-to means of fun. He tends to be more focused on his own pleasure and enjoyment than on being a "good person," because, come on, who even cares about that? He's definitely a party boy, the type who can turn on the charm when he wants to. He's cute and quite a catch, and he knows it, but he has no interest in settling down. Although he is a flirt, he is also superficial, more likely to judge someone based on how they look or dress rather than their personality.
Despite enjoying adrenaline and action, Aket tends to be lazy. If he wants something, if it benefits him directly, he's sure as hell going to put in 0% effort. He is laid back, at best, and prone to inaction at worst. He has no motivation for things that don't interest him. He is irresponsible and undependable, likely to show up to important things late...if at all. Don't bother relying on him, because he isn't going to help you. Unfortunately for him, this behavior (as well as many others) will land him in Lamentoso. If people look down on him or rightfully judge him based on this, he doesn't care. It's just a shame the weyr doesn't acknowledge talent when they see it.

Aket, born Aerokhet, hated his name as soon as he could say it, and hated it even more when he learned to spell it. He went by Aket relatively early on in his life, a name that stuck with him.
Although his parents were not especially present in his life, due to being so busy, Aerokhet was close to his siblings before he could speak. Raerakhe and Alaenet were both dear to him, but Khera, the oldest, was bossy. He tried to like her when he was younger, he truly did, but eventually the two gave up. Their personalities were like oil and water, simply not mixing. Every so often, one would try to swallow their pride and make it work, but it never lasted.
As soon as he was able, Aket apprenticed as a harper. His parents assumed he would become a dragon candidate once he could, but he declined, much to their chagrin. Harpering was the one endeavor he put energy into. Everything else, of course, could only be motivated by his own desires and needs. When it came to the music, however, he was more willing to act. However, he wasn't good at anything in the profession other than music, and refused to learn any of the old historical ballads. He'd write his own music, thank you very much. As a result, he never walked the tables.
When Khera would eventually leave for Semaca in 2769, Aket was almost relieved. It didn't take long, however, for him to realize that life without Khera to antagonize was boring. Alaenet, although he cared for them, was boring. Even Rae, who had SOME personality...boring. Nothing to do, not at Igen, so he packed up and left, bidding his family a casual farewell, despite their confusion at his sudden moving. In 2771, he arrived at Semaca Weyr. Although his relationship with his sister improved somewhat, and was generally more satisfying (to him, at least), they tended to fight a lot even still.
In Summer of 2774, Khera, despite being a usually hardy individual, got sick. It developed into pneumonia, and the healers were not optimistic. Aket, feeling terrible about how he would needle her, often visited. She told him, in her last days, that if anything happened to her, he would need to care for Khersk. He agreed, though he told her she'd be fine, surprised and weirdly touched by the gesture, given their friction.
She wasn't fine.
After Khera's passing, Khersk rebonded to him. Their relationship began as a bit tumultuous, with Khersk--now Akhersk--seeking to make her handler better, while Aket strove to
