FULL APPEARANCE:
- Standing at six feet six inches in height, Cyan is the epitome of lanky. He has brown skin and bushy black hair. His face is a little on the long side, with piercing black eyes, a straight nose that widens near the tip, and full lips. He wears neat facial hair, a mustache and a small beard.
When it comes to clothes, Cyan has always been practical. He doesn't see much point in getting dressed up, although he will for gathers and such, and the majority of his clothes are brown or gray of some sort. He does at least pay enough attention that his clothes find themselves mended or replaced as needed.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
- A tough and intelligent man, Cyan can easily be accused of being ponderous. He is decisive and tends to make sure he knows what he wants so he can go for it, although her will take the time to decide before moving ... not that he ever needs much time to decide. He has little patience for those whom he considers a bit thick, frequently becoming exasperated with the dim and indecisive.
He is fastidious, keeping everything around him tidy. This has sometimes been an issue in his life as a pirate, as not all of his shipmates always place the same value on cleanliness that he does, but he’s found ways to keep things around him as spotless as possible in the most efficient way possible as he travels the seas.
Cyan is not the most patient man and expects others to be as efficient as he is. He is also a poor hand at speaking to crowds, functioning better in one-on-one situations. He uses Whatever authority he has in situations as a crutch and has found his recent situation as a candidate somewhat disconcerting in that he suddenly has no authority to flaunt.
He is a very stoic sort; unflappable and without much in the way of things that bother him outside of his fastidious nature. He is very solid and straightforward and he is very much the take-no-prisoners sort - unless, of course, you’ve got a good reason for it. Random prisoners are a hassle.

HISTORY:
- Cyan was the third of four children, he got along well with all of them but not particularly well with any of them. His parents, a fisher and a washwoman, were very much in love through his childhood but separated when he was eight. His father took Gioran and Cyan, while his mother took the girls. This made him somewhat closer to Gio in his older childhood, but he kept in contact with his sisters and mother as much as possible.
He always assumed that he would be a fisher like his father, but circumstances changed when he was found himself among pirates one summer. Cyan was enamored of the idea of a life on the sea more than he was with the idea of fish. He took well to the life of pillaging and raiding, and he did his level best to stay in contact with his family although letters were infrequent at best.
Shortly after he was conscripted he heard of his sister Ciovi being Searched and Impressing. He has not seen her since, but he's happy for her. Being a dragonrider should be a good fit for his younger sister and no one deserved it more than Ciovi. He was honestly glad that she had not Impressed at High Reaches, given that they were in a time of political upheaval. He’s not sure the new council he’s heard of will work or last.
It was ten turns ago now that Ciovi Impressed. Cyan has settled into life as a pirate and raised up through the ranks enough to have some authority over the newer, the less experienced, and the unproven. He is not, however, in such a high position that he does not feel like he can walk away.
For you see, while generally happy with his life, Cyan has for a few turns been seeing a man at Semaca Weyr. Deciding he wanted to settle down with him, and at the last Dragon Days he volunteered to stand as a candidate. He was almost too old to be a dragon candidate so there was no real point in starting a life there, but he was still eligible for a wher.
Even if he doesn’t Impress, the former pirate is happy living with his lover in Semaca. He just has to make himself useful and find a way to fit into Weyr life, and if he doesn’t get a wher then he isn’t really sure what to do with himself.
